When Lin Nanzhi returned home for the weekend, she discovered that the fruit trees had already been planted. However, since they had purchased a large piece of land, there was still plenty of empty space left. Because of this, Father Lin planned to order more saplings, including additional quantities of the ones they had already bought. The only exception was raspberries, which they intended to grow solely for family consumption.
Originally, Lin Nanzhi had planned to plant some crops herself. However, she soon realized that even if she didn’t personally do the planting, she would still earn points. Since the money spent on the trees was hers, all the trees planted were credited to her. As a result, her points accumulated rapidly.
Before long, she unlocked the second type of fruit in her space. The space had expanded significantly, making her extremely excited. She immediately rushed toward the fruit trees.
Beneath the trees, there were now instruction manuals explaining the uses of the second type of fruit, which was orange in color.
After reading the instructions, she felt somewhat disappointed. The new fruit only helped people grow taller, prevented weight gain despite overeating, and ensured balanced bone and muscle development. Compared to the first fruit, it wasn’t as useful for Lin Nanye’s illness.
Fortunately, higher-level fruits still retained the effects of lower-level ones, and their potency was even stronger. This made Lin Nanzhi feel much better.
The next day, the whole family went to the city again. Taking advantage of the trip, Lin Nanzhi picked one fruit from each of the two varieties and planned to bring them to Lin Nanye. She also slaughtered an old hen and made soup using spiritual spring water to bring along.
Aside from visiting Lin Nanye, they also planned to enroll Father Lin in driving school so he could learn to drive. Since they had planted so many trees, having a car would be more convenient in the future. They also intended to shop for furniture, as their newly renovated house just needed some airing out and final touches before moving in.
However, after a full day out, although they completed the enrollment and bought other necessities, they couldn’t find suitable furniture. As a result, Father Lin decided to visit Spring City next week to look for better options. Since the house still needed decoration, they purchased some ornamental trees and arranged for them to be transported home. Before heading back, they stopped by the hospital to visit Lin Nanye.
Lin Nanye was in great spirits. Even the doctors remarked that his condition had improved significantly—this was the first true miracle. Perhaps one day, he could completely recover. This news filled the whole family with joy, especially Lin Nanzhi.
She knew for sure that this was because of her space.
At that moment, she felt deeply grateful that she hadn’t just stood by and watched that day but had chosen to help the elderly lady. That old woman was definitely not an ordinary person—she must have been some kind of deity who saw her unwillingness to accept fate and granted her this incredible ability, allowing her to change her and her family’s destiny.
She firmly believed that Lin Nanye would recover.
With summer vacation approaching, she resolved to work hard, earn more points, and continue upgrading her space. She refused to believe that there wasn’t a fruit that could cure him. Even if there wasn’t, she could continue using the red fruit—it would just take a bit longer.
Because of their uncle, the rest of the family had also learned about Lin Nanye’s condition and had been calling to express their concern. Upon hearing the good news, Father Lin immediately phoned each of them to share the update.
After spending a day with Lin Nanye, Lin Nanzhi was even allowed to have hotpot for dinner. Later, Lin Nanxuan stayed behind with Mother Lin to care for Lin Nanye for another day, while the rest of the family took the bus home.

Their house renovation was complete. The exterior was primarily white, featuring large windows, making it look grand and elegant. However, the yard hadn’t been tidied up yet—aside from the cemented entrance, the rest was still dirt.
They unloaded the fruit trees and ornamental plants into the courtyard of their new home before heading off to rest. The next day, they planted the trees, watered them, laid down a lawn, and cleaned up the cemented areas. Instantly, the yard looked much more beautiful.
While everyone was busy, Lin Nanzhi took the opportunity to dig small holes beneath the fence with a trowel and planted some roses. After watering them with diluted spiritual spring water, she left them alone.
After all, roses were naturally resilient and fast-growing. Even with the added effects of the spiritual spring water, it wouldn’t be suspicious.
As for the fruit trees, the family couldn’t plant all of them by themselves, nor could they afford to hire more help. So, they asked their uncle to assist and simply told the villagers that they had dug up the trees from elsewhere for free—whether the villagers believed them or not was another matter.
The next day, Father Lin made another trip to the city to buy curtains, bed sets, beds, cabinets, and various household appliances. As for explaining these purchases, he didn’t bother. If anyone asked, he would simply say they had ordered everything long ago and had already paid, so they couldn’t cancel the orders—now they just had to bring everything home. If they ran out of money, they could always sell some of the items.
Meanwhile, Lin Nanzhi realized that online shopping was becoming popular. So, she went to the app store, found a shopping app with a yellow logo, and downloaded it. She then dragged Lin Nanxun along to buy all sorts of items, from large wardrobes to small home decorations.
For big items, the store handled delivery and installation. Smaller purchases were sent to the city’s courier station. Since Father Lin was in the city for driving lessons, he rented a vehicle each time to bring the items home.
After frequent trips, the villagers started noticing.
Truthfully, many of them still found it hard to believe that the Lin family had suddenly built a house and even bought an entire hillside. But the fruit trees growing on the opposite hill and the beautiful new house were undeniable proof.
While they were envious, they couldn’t help but be curious.
Every household had some savings, but the amount varied. They wondered how much the Lin family’s house had cost—it looked quite nice. However, remembering that the Lin family had a “money-draining beast” in Lin Nanye, they felt some sympathy. Their initial envy faded, replaced by concern. Did Father Lin plan to stop treating Lin Nanye? Otherwise, why was he spending so much on all these things?
As a result, people started coming to their house to ask about it.
However, Father Lin was learning to drive, and Lin Nanxuan had enrolled in an adult education program to continue her studies. Since she had lost her academic records, attending an adult school was the only way for her to get a degree.
Although adult education was expensive, its diploma was recognized as equivalent to a regular undergraduate degree.
Lin Nanxun and Lin Nanzhi were also busy with their studies, so the villagers sought out Mother Lin, who was taking care of Lin Nanye at the hospital. As a result, their younger cousin, Lin Qingqing, was left in the care of her father.
With no one available to ask, the villagers had to wait until Lin Nanzhi returned on the weekend. But every time she came back, she was too busy. She and Lin Nanxun would go around watering the fruit trees with spiritual spring water to help them grow better.
At the same time, they arranged for workers to build greenhouses, hoping to plant fruit and vegetables in the spring.
Additionally, they planned to repair the road in front of their house.
Lin Nanzhi had bigger plans—she intended to develop the lake on their mountain and turn it into a homestay or a tourist spot. To do that, they needed a proper road. She planned to pave a road from their courtyard, leading left to the village and right across a bridge over the river, winding through the orchard and up the mountain. The details would come later.
The village women were growing anxious, until the following weekend, when the Lin family hosted a housewarming banquet.
