“Hello, little one. What would you like?” A person in a restaurant uniform appeared on camera.
Lu Tuan cautiously tilted his head to look up at the stranger, staring for a few seconds before recalling that his big dad had spoken to this person earlier. He relaxed slightly and replied in a serious and proper tone, “I want this one.”
His small finger pointed through the air at a milk-yellow pudding, showing an extraordinary sense of caution.
“Got it.” The staff member retrieved the item for him and asked kindly, “Do you want to eat it now or have it packed?”
“Packed?” Lu Tuan tilted his head, latching onto the unfamiliar word.
“Packed means you can take it back to your room to eat,” the staff member explained.
Lu Tuan’s little brain processed this, thinking about how his little dad might be hungry back in the room. He decided to bring more for both of them and eagerly leaned forward to say, “Packed! And more, more.”
He held up one finger and said, “Two bear-shaped ones. I’ll carry them!”
Just as Lu Chen finished his breakfast, Lu Tuan came running at full speed to his side.
“Careful,” Lu Chen said, bending down to catch the little rocket with one arm.
Lu Tuan proudly raised his right hand high, the bear-shaped pudding inside the box wobbling with his motion. In his soft baby voice, he announced, “It’s mine!”
“Why did you get more food again?” Lu Chen rubbed his little head, both amused and resigned.
“Uh-huh, I got it.” Lu Tuan stomped his little foot and turned to point toward the room. “Little dad’s hungry. Let’s go back!”
“The pudding in your hand is for your little dad?” Lu Chen asked, amused at how considerate the little guy was—eating to his heart’s content yet not forgetting about his little dad.
But to his surprise, Lu Tuan shook his head firmly and said, “It’s mine.”
Lu Chen: “?”
【Lu Chen: My native language is speechless.】
【Tuan Tuan, you forgot the food you packed!】
【No, judging by his face, Tuan Tuan doesn’t know that “packed” means he has to take it with him.】
The restaurant manager arrived just in time with a bagged breakfast, saving Lu Tuan from the imminent collapse of his dad’s trust. Handing it over, the manager explained to Lu Chen, “Our restaurant offers packing or delivery services for VIP members. This is the breakfast your little one ordered, already packed. Enjoy your meal!”
Lu Chen took it and asked the little one by his feet, “Is this what you got for little dad?”
It was only then that Lu Tuan realized the bag contained all the food he’d ordered. His eyes curved into happy crescents as he nodded, “For little dad to eat~”
Lu Chen paused for a moment before replying, “Alright.”
The accompanying cameraman stayed behind to finish breakfast while the camera in the room activated.
When Lu Chen opened the door, Lu Tuan dashed inside and immediately called out, “Little Dad!”
The room was empty. Lu Tuan froze for a few seconds, then clumsily climbed onto the bed, calling out louder, “Little Dad, where are you?”
Lu Chen glanced at the closed bathroom door and placed the bag on the table, reminding him, “Don’t spill the pudding on the bed.”
“Okay.” Lu Tuan obediently slid back down, walking up to Lu Chen and handing it over. “Big Dad, take it.”
The sound of movement came from the bathroom, and moments later, Ji Miandeng emerged, now dressed and speaking gently, “Who’s looking for me?”
His tone was soft and warm, as always.
“Little Dad~” Lu Tuan instantly retracted his extended hand and stretched his little arms, clinging affectionately to Ji Miandeng’s leg.
【Wait… are the dads wearing matching outfits?】
【Both dads are in green! Did they not tell Tuan Tuan? Covering my face.】
Lu Chen’s brows twitched slightly when he saw Ji Miandeng, noticing the unintentional coordination between their outfits.
His own casual attire consisted of a black jacket and pants paired with a dark green shirt underneath, while Ji Miandeng wore a dark green sweatshirt with black pants—the shade of green matching perfectly. Even their shoes were identical.
Lu Chen thought to himself that the clothes must have been carefully selected by Uncle Jin, perhaps even arranged deliberately.
Unlike the two dads, Lu Tuan wore a knee-length milk-yellow coat with little horns on the hood, an outfit that would reach peak cuteness once the hood was up.
Ji Miandeng didn’t spare Lu Chen a glance. Instead, he picked up Lu Tuan, being particularly careful to support the little one’s bottom with his left arm as he gently chatted with him, “What did baby have for breakfast?”
“Noodles, sausages…” Lu Tuan listed in his baby voice, then proudly showed off the pudding in his hand. “And bears~”
As he listed the foods one after another, Ji Miandeng instinctively patted his belly and said, “Your round little tummy says it can’t fit any more bears.”
“It can fit,” Lu Tuan replied.
“No, it can’t,” Ji Miandeng said with a smile. “But little dad’s tummy can.”
Afraid that his little bear pudding might “fly away,” Lu Tuan changed the topic and pointed to Lu Chen, saying, “Little dad has bears, noodles, and milk. Tuan Tuan brought them for little dad~”
Following the direction of his little finger, Ji Miandeng glanced briefly at Lu Chen, then smiled at the child in his arms. “Baby brought breakfast for little dad? Thank you, baby.”
Lu Chen noticed the obvious distance returning to Ji Miandeng’s tone, feeling a slight sense of relief.
Although Ji Miandeng didn’t have much of an appetite, he graciously ate some of the breakfast that Tuan Tuan had brought back. While he ate, Lu Chen took Tuan Tuan to the window to look at the view. The little one was endlessly amazed and delighted by everything he saw, reacting with childlike wonder.
Boring yet entertaining.
The doorbell rang, and the front desk delivered something.
A group of children curiously surrounded the stroller. One child, maintaining their foodie persona, was the first to grab the bag of steamed buns but quickly pulled their hand back, pretending to cry: “Hot~.”
Lu Chen didn’t manage to stop him in time and hurriedly checked his little hand. The tips of his thumb and index finger were slightly red.
Lu Chen tested the bag. It was fairly thick and had cooled down by then, so it wasn’t actually very hot. However, the child’s delicate skin had gotten a bit red.
“Your hand’s fine,” Lu Chen reassured him, gently rubbing his little hand. “Let Dad handle it. You blow on it yourself.”
With a scrunched-up face, the little boy ran to find Little Dad and complained with a pitiful tone, “My hand~ My hand got burned~”
Ji Miandeng overheard Lu Chen’s explanation but still carefully inspected the child’s fingers. There really wasn’t much of an issue. He comforted him, “Little Dad will blow on it for you. It won’t hurt after that.”
After a few blows from Little Dad, the child’s fake cries stopped. His eyes were completely dry—he had only wailed twice for show.
When Lu Chen came back inside, Ji Miandeng looked up and asked, “What did he touch?”
“Steamed buns,” Lu Chen replied.
While bringing the little boy to eat, Lu Chen had ordered steamed buns and sweet milk for Ji Miandeng, knowing that at home, his breakfasts usually included sweet milk paired with custard buns, soup dumplings, or other types of buns.
Lu Chen placed the buns and milk next to him and noticed that he had barely touched the hotel breakfast. “Eat a bit?” he asked.
“I’m full,” Ji Miandeng replied, lowering his gaze.
Within his line of sight, the plump, white buns were steaming hot.
[Wow, getting breakfast delivered by both your husband and son—so lucky!]
[The actor eats less than the kid, huh?]
[Is it just me, or does the atmosphere feel off? Did they argue? Even if he’s full, wouldn’t he at least take a bite of the breakfast his husband went out of his way to get?]
[Don’t overthink it. He’s always had a small appetite. A real couple wouldn’t sweat these small things.]
Hearing Ji Miandeng’s response, Lu Chen raised an eyebrow. “Alright.”
He didn’t push further. Instead, he picked up the little boy, who was ready to grab at the buns again, and placed him on the bed. “Big Dad has a gift for you.”
The child kicked off his shoes, sat up, and excitedly said, “Yay!”
Lu Chen helped him put on a lanyard and attached a mini action camera to his chest. It was one of the things that had just been delivered.
The little boy curiously poked at the tiny camera, which was as small as his palm, and muttered in his soft, childish voice, “What’s this?”
“It’s a camera,” Lu Chen patiently explained. “When you wear it, it’ll show Dad and Little Dad what you see every day.”
After thinking for a moment, the child declared, “The camera is awesome!”
Lu Chen chuckled. “That’s right.”
[Ahhh, is this what they call Lu Tuan’s POV? Lu Chen, don’t make me beg! I’d sign a petition to see it!]
[Count me in for the petition!]
[Lu Chen is the ultimate doting husband—bringing breakfast to the actor while letting him see everything through the baby’s eyes. And he’s rich and handsome? I feel like a stray dog kicked on the street right now.]
[@RaisingLuTuan, don’t end the livestream during transitions. We missed the iconic moment when Lu Tuan hid snacks! Pay up with the footage!]
Ji Miandeng sat on the bed and looked at the camera on Lu Tuan’s chest with some curiosity. It was tiny and seemed weightless. Smiling mischievously, he reminded the boy, “Now when you hide snacks, Dad will see.”
Lu Tuan shyly giggled. “Lu Tuan doesn’t hide snacks~ Dad gives them to me!”
“Which Dad?” Ji Miandeng pinched his chubby cheeks. “Little Dad doesn’t give you snacks.”
The boy turned to Lu Chen. “Big Dad gives them to me!”
“Big Dad doesn’t give them either,” Lu Chen replied, pulling out his phone.
The little boy whined and rolled into Ji Miandeng’s arms, acting spoiled. “Give Lu Tuan snacks~”
Ji Miandeng shook his head, teasing him.
Switching tactics, Lu Tuan stretched out his little arms to invite Big Dad for a hug.
Lu Chen indulged him and picked him up. The little boy gave him a loud, soft kiss on the cheek. “Give Lu Tuan snacks! Love Big Dad!”
Lu Chen smiled and, remembering that he had received a video of Lu Tuan hiding snacks yesterday but hadn’t had time to watch it, opened it now. Uncle Jin had thoughtfully sent over a fully edited clip of the event, which Lu Chen shared with Ji Miandeng. “Here’s the video of Lu Tuan hiding snacks yesterday.”
Ji Miandeng hadn’t expected him to actually find it and paused for a moment before taking the phone.
Lu Chen sat down next to him, holding the little boy. “Lu Tuan, let’s see which little friend this is.”
The boy squeezed between them and peeked. “It’s me!”
“Uh-huh.” Ji Miandeng hit play.
The video began with the boy sneaking glances at the bedside cabinet and ended with him sitting on the sofa eating rice. Every step of his “heist” was captured without missing a beat. The editing was excellent, zooming in on his adorable and clever expressions.
The highlight was when the boy tiptoed to open the cabinet, grabbed a sausage, and smiled so wide his eyes squinted shut. Then, in an instant, his face turned serious as he stuffed the sausage into his pocket. Both dads couldn’t help but laugh at how entertaining the little boy was.
When the video finished, Ji Miandeng looked at the boy in Lu Chen’s arms and teased, “You’ve just earned another video for your future wedding montage.”
The boy clapped cluelessly. “Oh! Lu Tuan is amazing!”
[@RaisingLuTuan, this is your chance to redeem yourself.]
[I want to see Lu Tuan’s wedding videos too! 😭]
Lhaozi’s Note: Please do not be confused with Lu Tuan’s name, like it comes as Lu Tuanzi or Lu Tuanmei or Lu Tuanbao, In china, ‘Zi or zi’ ‘Mei or mei’ and ‘bao” are often added to names or nicknames as a term of endearment, indicating affection or familiarity. When added to a name, it typically makes the name sound cuter or more playful, especially when referring to children or beloved individuals.
