Lu Qi sat in the recording studio and took off his headphones.
He first looked Lin Xingjiao up and down, and his eyes fell on his bare white ankles, which were not completely wiped dry and still had water droplets slowly dripping down.
After a slight pause in his gaze, Lu Qi discovered that the clothes Lin Xingjiao was wearing seemed to be the ones he asked Aunt Meng to throw away.
He looked at him and said, “Are you used to living here?”
Lin Xingjiao found that he didn’t mean to ask him to put on a pair of pants, and felt a little helpless, but seeing Lu Qi’s calm attitude, he wondered if he was overthinking it.
So I chatted with him as he wanted, but my face still had a slight blush that I couldn’t suppress: “Very good, thank you for agreeing to let me live here.”
After he finished speaking, he felt that it would be better to use a respectful title: “Well… thank you.”
Lu Qi remembered Lin Xingjiao’s information. He was one year younger than Lu Mi. He found it very interesting. If Lu Mi could have the same scheming as Lin Xingjiao at this age, he wouldn’t have to worry so much.
To be fair, among the younger generations of the Lu family, no one can outsmart Lin Xingjiao in terms of scheming. He really is very good at pretending.
If Lin Xingjiao hadn’t revealed too much in front of him at the beginning, or hadn’t been too impatient, Lu Qi would have been fooled by him.
”You’re welcome. I didn’t ask you to stay here. If you want to thank someone, you might as well thank Aunt Meng.”
”good.”
After Lin Xingjiao finished speaking, he had nothing else to say to Lu Qi.
After the previous IOU and the inquiry about the broadcast time of the variety show, he had no intention of looking for Lu Qi. He didn’t know whether it was a coincidence or Lu Qi took the initiative to look for him this time. He just stood there waiting for his next words.
Lu Qi did not intend to start talking about business right away. Instead, he kept chatting with Lin Xingjiao. After asking him if he was used to the living here, he talked to him about the new varieties of flowers in the garden.
Lin Xingjiao answered every question, and his fluency surprised Lu Qi a little.
It seems that he is not completely insincere. At least when Aunt Meng told him before that Lin Xingjiao helped him plant flowers, it was not Aunt Meng saying good things about him.
Lu only knew how long Lin Xingjiao’s live broadcast lasted, and even so, he still made time to help Aunt Meng, and he didn’t act perfunctory.
Putting aside other thoughts, just the ability to manage time and the level of care are good enough.
It’s not entirely without merit.
He lowered his eyes slightly and did not speak for a while, but his attention was distracted by Lin Xingjiao’s restless feet standing on the ground.
Lin Xingjiao was not wearing any shoes. He just stood barefoot on the ground. His toes were pink and slightly curled up. He seemed to be cold and at a loss. He stood aggrievedly on the hard and cold ground.
Lu Qi didn’t know that he didn’t even have a pair of extra slippers at home.
He originally wanted to sit for a while, but after seeing this, he suddenly had no intention of watching Lin Xingjiao’s performance: “My grandfather’s birthday party will be in three days. I will bring you along. Remember to be prepared.”
Lin Xingjiao nodded, but before he could filter out the information in his head, he realized that Lu Qi was about to leave.
Lin Xingjiao stood there looking at Lu Qi’s back. Although he felt a little cold when they were chatting just now, he still felt that it was a little too fast for him to leave suddenly.
After all, he rarely saw Lu Qi, and Lin Xingjiao felt a little reluctant, but he didn’t know why.
I just stayed there and watched his background disappear.
Lu Qi did not leave, or to be more precise, he did not leave without looking back. When he reached the door, he seemed to have thought of something. He suddenly turned around and found Lin Xingjiao looking at him with sparkling eyes.
It was another blatant seduction of this kind, but how could Lin Xingjiao guess that he would come back?
Lu Qi suppressed his doubts, didn’t show it on his face, and pointed to the box in the corner of the room: “There are some equipment I don’t use over there. I can lend it to you if you need it.”
After saying that, he really left.
Lin Xingjiao looked in the corner he had just mentioned and found a black suitcase that he had never noticed in all the time he had lived here.
Because there is no light here, Lin Xingjiao usually treats the recording studio as an aisle and does not turn on all the lights.
Moreover, he was warned by Li Rui when he inspected the place on the first day, and he never visited it again afterwards.
He was just staying here temporarily and had no right to look at the owner’s things. But now that Lu Qi had told him, it was different.
Lin Xingjiao curiously opened the suitcase and found some microphones and sound cards. They seemed to be much more advanced than the ones that came with the computer in the room.
It comes in handy.
Lin Xingjiao was so happy that he didn’t think about why Lu Qi gave it to him directly. He didn’t even ask him if he needed these things. It was as if Lu Qi knew that he was doing a live broadcast.
After dragging the suitcase back to the room, Lin Xingjiao, who had originally planned to go to bed right after taking a shower, suddenly became more energetic, as if he had found a new toy. He studied it with great interest and even delayed his sleep.
He couldn’t tell which ones were good or bad from the models, he just felt that they were all very expensive. Therefore, Lin Xingjiao simply looked at the appearance and picked out the good-looking microphones to replace them himself.
While everything was going on carefully on the third floor, when Lu Qi finished washing up and was lying on the bed on the second floor, the image of Lin Xingjiao’s bare feet emerged involuntarily in his mind. It was a bit annoying and could not be dispelled.
After more than ten seconds, Lu Qi finally stood up as if in compromise, found a pair of unused slippers from his bedroom and went upstairs.
The recording studio was pitch black, and the voice-controlled lights didn’t seem to be working properly. Lu Qi took two steps before the lights suddenly came on. By then, he could see light coming through the crack in the door.
At least let him know that Lin Xingjiao hasn’t slept yet.
Lu Qi knocked on the door, but there was no response. He knocked twice again and couldn’t help but wonder if Lin Xingjiao was used to sleeping with the lights on.
Just as he was about to put his shoes at the door and leave, the door suddenly opened.
”Auntie, is there anything wrong?”
Lin Xingjiao didn’t see anyone, so he asked first. Except for Li Rui who came to see him on the first day, only Aunt Meng came up after that.
However, Aunt Meng should have fallen asleep at this time, and Lin Xingjiao also felt strange. He ignored this unusual feeling and opened the door directly.
After shouting, I realized that something was indeed wrong. The figure outside the door was much taller than Aunt Meng.
After seeing clearly, Lin Xingjiao was a little surprised and said: “Lu, Mr. Lu, why are you here again?”
Why is this word “again” so redundant?
Lu Qi threw the cotton scoop in his hand between the two of them, and the plastic bag made an ear-piercing sound.
Before Lu Qi could say anything, Lin Xingjiao squatted down to unpack the package. “Are you here to give me shoes? I have some.”
Lin Xingjiao pointed to the back of his room. He was still barefoot. The main reason was that he was not used to wearing socks because of his previous habits at home.
When his parents knew his habit, they laid a velvet carpet in his room. Over time, Lin Xingjiao developed the habit of walking around barefoot.
Because he could only walk around in the room before, it didn’t matter if no outsiders saw him.
He forgot that everything was different now. He thought that this made Lu Qi unhappy, so he apologized quickly: “I will wear it in the future and won’t dirty the floor.”
This attitude is very good, but Lu Qi wanted to frown when he heard it. He simply didn’t like the way it was said.
This wasn’t worth his correction, and in the end he just responded lukewarmly.
Lin Xingjiao thought that he really didn’t like his habit, so he quietly put on his slippers, stood up, and tried to find a topic.
There was no need for Lin Xingjiao to ask, Lu Qi asked first instead.
”What are you doing?”
He noticed that the room, which had an open view, was now a bit messy. The black suitcase he had just talked about with Lin Xingjiao had been opened by him and was now spread out on the floor.
The main problem is not the box itself, but the various messy wires extending from the microphone.
Lin Xingjiao felt as nervous as if the landlord was coming to reclaim the house. He quietly turned aside and began to explain to Lu Qi the origin of each thread.
These devices were all used by Lu Qi, so there were no manuals to read.
Therefore, Lin Xingjiao’s previous methods of solving the problem were no longer useful, and he could only connect and install it randomly by himself, which eventually led to this horrible situation.
He thought about it and felt that there was no need to hide the live broadcast from Lu Qi, so he explained slowly with a slightly tired voice: “Li Rui should have told you that I want to make money to repay your high-end customization, so I was live streaming recently. When I saw the things in the box, I wanted to install them before going to bed, so that I could use them directly tomorrow, but I didn’t install them well.”
”I want to restore them to what they were before, but I can’t get them back.” Lin Xingjiao had already done it and was going to work on it for another half an hour. If he couldn’t get it right, he would just go to bed and get up early tomorrow to study.
He couldn’t help yawning four or five times while he was fiddling with the string just now.
After Lin Xingjiao finished speaking, he couldn’t help coughing twice, and then he stopped talking. His expression was full of hope that Lu Qi would leave quickly after listening to his explanation, because he wanted to sleep.
When Lu Qi saw Lin Xingjiao looking at him with such a pleading look, he knew that he wanted him to help him sort out the threads. He didn’t intend to pay attention to him. In fact, he shouldn’t even ask. When he was about to leave, Lin Xingjiao coughed again with his throat suppressed.
Lu Qi paused: “Let me see.”
When Lin Xingjiao found out that Lu Qi wanted to help him, he quickly waved his hand to refuse, and said in a hoarse and weak voice: “Don’t bother you, I will do tomorrow…”
He spoke too slowly, and in just a moment Lu Qi had already started fiddling with it.
Lin Xingjiao couldn’t sleep, so he could only close the door with a troubled look on his face and continue studying with Lu Qi.
When Lu Qi saw Lin Xingjiao closing the door, he couldn’t help but sneer in his heart, thinking of the incident of Lin Xingjiao climbing into the bed before.
Could it be that his current act of helping him gave him illusions again? That was too much to think about.
