The Whole Entertainment Industry Thought I Was an Alpha Chapter 50

Chapter 50

The museum provided a public vehicle, but as soon as the car door opened, an overwhelming scent filled the air, almost unbearable. Lu Wei bent down, placing Lin Si onto the back seat before stepping in himself. He shut the door with such force that the driver flinched and quickly turned around to check if the door was still intact.

The moment he did, he locked eyes with Lu Wei’s sharp, menacing gaze—a warning, like a wolf protecting its prey, baring its teeth in a silent threat.

“Adjust the rearview mirror. Don’t look back.”

“…Understood, sir.”

Two minutes later, there was a knock on the car window. Lu Wei rolled it down just a crack, reached out to take the Alpha-specific inhibitor, and shut it again.

“We’re leaving now,” the driver announced.

Lu Wei held Lin Si down, stopping him from climbing onto his lap. With one hand, he tore open the plastic packaging. Lowering his head, he bit his sleeve, pulling it up quickly to expose his forearm. With a brief glance to locate the right spot, he injected himself with the inhibitor.

As the entire dose of the inhibitor was pushed in, Lin Si had already unbuttoned three of Lu Wei’s shirt buttons, pressing his face against his collarbone.

The inhibitor wouldn’t take effect immediately. Lu Wei could only push Lin Si away with one hand, but in the cramped space of the car, Lin Si, upon being pushed, could only fell backward. However, instead of finding a point of support, he tumbled right back, his legs curling under him under pressure, shifting from lying down to straddling Lu Wei.

“Baby, get down first.”

Lu Wei slid his arms under Lin Si’s armpits, lifting him up, but Lin Si was too overwhelmed, rubbing against him desperately as if he had lost all sense of reason, refusing to move away.

The coat draped over his back slipped down. Lu Wei let go with one hand to catch it, and Lin Si seized the opportunity to reclaim his previously pushed-away hand, pressing it down again.

A rough, almost uncontrollable sound escaped Lu Wei’s throat. He swiftly grasped Lin Si’s wrists, pinning them behind his back, his gaze sharp like a battlefield blade drenched in blood.

He lifted Lin Si’s chin, forcing him to meet his eyes.

“Don’t move.”

But Lin Si still rubbed against him, letting out a small, pitiful whimper from his nose.

“Sir… Please… Not in the car…” The driver, already drenched in sweat from their overpowering pheromones, had lowered the air conditioning to its lowest setting. He tried to speed up while pleading, “Your pheromones are too strong. I’m getting dizzy myself. Do you still have any control, sir? If you can hear me, maybe you should consider giving your Omega a temporary mark first—”

Before he could finish speaking, the sounds from the back seat suddenly fell silent. Only two different breathing patterns remained.

Lu Wei’s teeth hovered over Lin Si’s nape. He felt Lin Si trembling under him but didn’t let go. His throat burned dry, as if seared by fire, and only the taste of Lin Si’s pheromones on his tongue felt like a drop of salvation.

A temporary truce lasted for about five minutes. Lu Wei’s lips, which had been resting against Lin Si’s gland, hesitated for a moment.

Reaching into the coat, he paused for two seconds before touching the spot where Lin Si was seated.

His fingers came away damp with a slick, sticky liquid.

Lin Si seemed submerged in a humid warmth, as if enveloped in rising mist and milk-scented steam. A faint blush spread across his cheeks, and even his lips glistened with moisture.

His pure, fair face concealed an undercurrent of unchecked desire.

For a brief moment, Lu Wei nearly lost all the restraint he had built up over the years. He withdrew his hand, pressing his dampened fingers into his palm, jaw clenching so tightly that his molars ached. His lower jawline tensed into sharp, angular lines, and in a desperate bid for control, he bit down on Lin Si’s gland once more.

“We’re here, we’re here—!” The driver exclaimed as he spotted a row of doctors waiting at the entrance. He immediately pulled over.

Li Jicheng, leading the medical team, took Lin Si from Lu Wei’s arms. Just as Lu Wei was about to follow, Li Donghao grabbed his arm. “President Lu, come with me.”

The last thread holding Lu Wei’s composure snapped. He took the clothes Li Donghao handed him to cover his disheveled, embarrassing state, but his eyes never left Lin Si, watching his only exposed legs as they were carried away.

Five Years Ago

In a haze of black and gray, Lin Si opened his groggy eyes. He couldn’t remember how many times he had woken up, nor how long he had been asleep.

The hospital room was in Xiaoshan Hospital’s top-tier intensive care unit. He wasn’t sure if it was on the rumored thirteenth floor or somewhere else—he hadn’t caught that detail. But he did know that this was his third day here.

A familiar nurse entered, pushing a cart. Lin Si turned his head away, unwilling to look at him.

“Six-thirty,” Lin Si muttered.

The nurse wrapped the tourniquet around his arm, drew three vials of blood, switched syringes, and continued his work. Lin Si had received four injections by six-thirty.

His arms no longer had the strength to lift. Every organ in his body felt foreign, as if they no longer belonged to him. He slept frequently but was just as often woken up, trapped in an endless cycle of exhaustion.

“Ten o’clock.” He stared at the stark white ceiling as the sting of another needle pierced his skin.

At ten in the morning and six in the evening, they administered the drug Lin Si hated most. Not only did it take an excruciatingly long time to inject, but it also caused a tearing pain around the injection site. Shortly after, he would start vomiting, which meant he couldn’t eat breakfast or dinner. He had to wait another half hour for the nurse to return with a nutrient injection.

Liao Ji was only allowed to visit once a day. The one constantly by his side was his manager, Qian Jialong, a Beta nearing forty.

“Liao Ji, am I going to die?” Lin Si asked while Liao Ji set down his lunch.

Liao Ji wiped away his tears. “No, you’ll be fine. Maybe they’re just trying to help your glands adapt, which is why they’re giving you daily injections.”

Lin Si let out a weak breath, took a sip of the porridge Liao Ji fed him, and murmured in a daze, “I don’t want to die… I’m only fifteen. I haven’t even finished the games on my console, and I still haven’t tried the fried mushrooms from that shop at Xiaolin Road’s intersection.”

“You’re going to be okay. Don’t say things like that.” Liao Ji turned away, using his sleeve to wipe his tears. He held Lin Si’s hand and rolled up his hospital gown sleeve, revealing bruises and needle marks all over his arm. Taking a sharp breath, he leaned close to Lin Si’s ear. “Let’s run away. We’ll switch to another hospital.”

Lin Si’s long lashes cast shadows over his pale, bloodless face. His head swam—he didn’t know which drug was taking effect this time. He couldn’t move, so he tugged at Liao Ji’s sleeve with his fingers.

“They lied to me. I can’t escape.”

He was on the verge of sleep but forced himself to finish his words. “How’s your wife? If you need more money, take it from my account. And if it’s still not enough, go after Qian Jialong—he’s been secretly pocketing a lot of my earnings…”

Before he could finish his sentence, Lin Si had already fallen asleep, tears sliding down the corners of his eyes and into his ears.

Liao Ji’s shoulders trembled violently, his entire face twisting as he cried. He covered his eyes with his hands.

He hadn’t been by Lin Si’s side when he differentiated.

Five days ago, he had been overwhelmed, busy handling his wife’s surgery arrangements.

At that time, Lin Si still had no idea what was about to happen to him.

Before the surgery, Lin Si had even wrapped a cashmere scarf around Liao Ji’s wife and greeted her with a smile. “Hello, sis-in-law.”

Liao Ji’s wife had been diagnosed with stomach cancer a month prior. After several rounds of chemotherapy, she had grown frail, but upon seeing Lin Si, she couldn’t resist reaching out to touch his hair. “Si Si, I was just listening to your new song in my hospital room.”

(T/n: I’m really sure i have read in a past chapter that Liao Ji’s wife is a man but now why is a women again 😔 😤)

Lin Si stayed with them until they entered the operating room, then handled the payments and transfers, comforting Liao Ji, who had been tense for hours.

Liao Ji was more like a caretaker for a group of kids rather than a mere assistant. He handled all sorts of trivial matters. But since Lin Si had become famous at a young age and Qian Jialong was always busy negotiating endorsements and deals, it was Liao Ji who accompanied him most of the time.

“No rush to pay me back,” Lin Si said. “I don’t have to worry about food, clothes, or shelter right now, and I’m not allowed to buy a house yet.” He grinned. “I’m so talented—by the time I can buy a house, I won’t be short of this little bit of money anyway. So, you don’t have to return it at all!”

Liao Ji shook his head and hugged him tightly. “Thank you.”

But on the very day he couldn’t leave his wife’s side—

Lin Si suddenly differentiated on the way to an event. Qian Jialong, who was with him at the time, immediately rushed him to Xiaoshan Hospital.

By the time Liao Ji hurried to the hospital, the doctors had already diagnosed Lin Si as “no obvious gender detected, no Alpha pheromones, weak Omega pheromones.”

He stared at the line of text, frozen.

Lin Si was sitting on a bench in the hallway, looking up at him, his face devoid of emotion. “Do I really have no gender?”

Liao Ji frowned. “That’s impossible.”

Soon, they were taken to the hospital director’s office, where Bu Wannian gently told Lin Si, “People without a gender have very short lifespans. We recommend a gland replacement.”

They had never heard of such a thing as a “gland replacement.” As far as they knew, only a handful of research teams worldwide had even studied the procedure.

Lin Si shook his head. “No, you’ve never done this surgery before.”

“Xiaoshan Hospital has never been just a hospital,” Bu Wannian assured him. “Since its founding, President Lu has gathered the country’s top doctors and established a research team more advanced than any government agency. Trust us—we can complete this surgery.”

“This has President Lu’s approval as well.”

Liao Ji pressed further. “Have you done any clinical trials? Has there been a successful case before Lin Si?”

Bu Wannian, unwilling to engage with Liao Ji, remained silent. Liao Ji immediately took Lin Si and left.

On their way out, they ran into Qian Jialong, who excitedly proposed, “President Lu has already agreed to the gland replacement surgery! Si Si, once you get a high-quality Alpha gland, we won’t have to worry about your future career anymore!”

To Liao Ji, Lin Si had saved his life before. Without regard for rank or authority, Liao Ji coldly walked past Qian Jialong, dragging Lin Si along.

He quickly found clothes for Lin Si, even taking off his own coat to wrap around him. He didn’t know what Lin Si smelled like after his differentiation, nor did he care—he just wanted to cover him up as much as possible. Then, he drove straight to Shengshi Group.

After much difficulty, they managed to find Lu Shaoming, but they had to wait in the top-floor corridor until he finished his “business” with an Omega in his office.

Ever since leaving the hospital, Lin Si had been crying. Bu Wannian’s words had truly scared him. He didn’t know if his life would end at fifteen or if he would never wake up again after falling asleep that night.

“Is President Lu done yet?” Liao Ji kept asking Lu Shaoming’s secretary, Lao Sang, but the man brushed him off effortlessly, sending him back.

Liao Ji could only stomp his foot in frustration. “What the hell are we supposed to do now?! He can’t undergo a gland replacement! No one has ever heard of this surgery being done before! When they examined you, what exactly happened? Are they sure you have no gender?”

Lin Si shook his head, sobbing. “I don’t know. They gave me medicine, drew my blood, and then just told me the result…”

He clutched Liao Ji’s arm. “What do I do? Am I really going to die? I don’t want to die—I really don’t want to die…”

Liao Ji was just as lost. Then, as he stood up, he saw a young man stepping out of the elevator.

He recognized him—that was Lu Shaoming’s legitimate son, the one he was particularly proud of. He seemed to be under twenty years old. His name was—

Lu Wei.

Desperate, Liao Ji blocked Lu Wei’s path. “Young Master Lu?”

The man was young, but his gaze was nothing like that of an eighteen- or nineteen-year-old. He stopped half a meter away from Liao Ji, looking displeased. “Who are you?”

“I’m Liao Ji, Lin Si’s assistant.”

He pulled Lin Si up from the bench and pushed him toward Lu Wei.

Lu Wei’s nostrils flared slightly as he breathed in, his brows furrowing into an expression of extreme disgust. He moved away, putting nearly five meters between himself and Lin Si.

“I…” Lin Si hiccuped through his sobs, momentarily dazed by the sudden rejection. “I…”

Liao Ji, setting aside all dignity, dragged Lin Si forward and spoke rapidly, desperate to explain.

“Can you spare us a moment? He’s an artist under Shengshi Entertainment. He just differentiated yesterday. Xiaoshan Hospital diagnosed him as having no clear gender. Now, the hospital director wants him to undergo gland replacement surgery, claiming that President Lu has approved it. But this surgery is unheard of! I searched online, and only foreign research teams have conducted experiments in labs—there are no successful clinical cases in the country. We’ve been waiting for an hour and a half, and we still haven’t been able to see President Lu. Young Master Lu, if you get a chance to speak with him, could you tell him about our situation? We want to find a more professional doctor, maybe even one abroad, to properly confirm Lin Si’s differentiation and treat him accordingly.”

He said urgently, “We don’t have the ability to find a doctor better than the ones at Xiaoshan Hospital, but President Lu definitely can.” He gave Lin Si a little push, signaling him to soften his tone.

Lin Si wiped his tears with his hand, looked up at Lu Wei—who was nearly 1.85 meters tall—and whispered, “Lu…”

Not knowing this man’s full name, he simply pleaded, “Mr. Lu, please.”

But Lu Wei didn’t dare to meet Lin Si’s eyes. The moment their gazes met, he quickly stepped back, putting even more distance between them.

“He’s definitely an Omega,” he muttered.

His gaze returned to Lin Si, lingering on the tears clinging to his lower lashes.

Disgust was evident on his face as he said, “Lu Shaoming’s affairs are none of my business. I can’t do anything about this.”

Author’s Note: Lu Wei isn’t actually a scumbag! The story from four years ago hasn’t been fully revealed yet. But tomorrow, we should return to the present timeline!

T/n: Actually when I read this chapter the first time, I really empathized with our Si Cub nd thought ML is a scumbag but after reading it this time, I didn’t think ML did anything wrong because he doesn’t owe our Si cub anything. It’s his kindness to help given his disgust towards Omegas nd his father who has been running this company in the guise of business but is actually his personal harem so to refuse politely is Already enough when he has already known the kind of trash his own father is. But yeah that’s my opinion Stay tuned guys 😜. If you want to support me you can buy me a Ko-Fi or go to my paypal page. Happy Reading ❤️🥳
