After returning to the hotel, Lu Youze directly walked toward Lu Youxi’s room. Although they were in the same crew, because they hadn’t had any scenes together yet, and Youxi had intentionally been avoiding him, they had barely spoken to each other.
Lu Youze had planned to find a chance to talk to him, but when he reached the door, he gave up. He was already in a bad mood because of Gu Xuanze, and didn’t feel like dealing with anything else. He was afraid of making things worse, so he decided to wait until next time.
Just as Lu Youze was about to go to the front desk to open another room, the door to the room next to Lu Youxi’s suddenly opened.
Ou Yan walked out from inside. Seeing the disheveled Lu Youze, he couldn’t help but feel like mocking him.
“Why does the famous actor Lu look like he’s been abandoned?” When he saw that Lu Youze’s eyes grew even darker because of his words, Ou Yan didn’t feel pleasure, but still kept on taunting, “Why are you making such a face? It’s not like this is the first time you’ve been abandoned. You should be pretty experienced by now.”
Lu Youze slapped his cheek hard, trying to snap himself out of his frustration.
“I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. Ah Ze would never abandon me in this lifetime. After all, he loves me so much,” Lu Youze walked up to Ou Yan, his mood now incredibly bad. Since this troublemaker wanted to push him, he wasn’t going to hold back, “Ou Yan, do you know what you look like right now?”
Lu Youze grabbed Ou Yan’s tie and pulled him in front of him. He blew a seductive breath against his handsome face, then smiled, “It looks like you’re telling me to come and pamper you. Ou Yan, you don’t secretly have a crush on me, do you? How unfortunate, I will only love Ah Ze in this lifetime.”
Ou Yan pushed Lu Youze away and sneered, “You said the same thing a few months ago. But I remember you said back then that the only person you love isn’t Mr. Gu.”
After saying that, Ou Yan walked straight back into his room.
With a loud bang, the door was slammed shut, making it clear he was really angry.
Lu Youze smiled wryly. It seemed like he had really done something bad to Ou Yan. He rarely took out his anger on others, but today, it was all because of Gu Xuanze.
“Ah!” Frustrated, he grabbed his hair and muttered under his breath, “Annoying.”
After calming down, he thought about it. Gu Xuanze was just worried about him and jealous. Though his approach was really irritating, after all, he was the big boss, and this might just be his usual way of dealing with things.
But they were dating now. Couldn’t Ah Ze respect him a little? He wasn’t a fool—he must have thought that he could handle it, that he didn’t need a stunt double!
Lu Youze lay on the bed in his new room. Tonight, both physically and mentally, he was exhausted, yet he couldn’t sleep.
He rarely talked about the child with Gu Xuanze, and today was the first time they had formally discussed it. He had this strange feeling, as if Gu Xuanze, no matter how much he loved him, had an odd attitude toward the child—as if he were really the child’s father.
Lu Youze was startled by his own thoughts. He must be muddled with anger. How could Gu Xuanze possibly be that kind of person?
“I should take a shower and calm down,” Lu Youze muttered to himself.
After a shower, he subconsciously avoided the thoughts that had just emerged.
The next morning, Lu Youze got up early. It was going to be another busy day. He had scenes to film all day, and the fight scene from last night had to be reshot.
Thinking about the argument with Gu Xuanze last night, Lu Youze had a headache. He wondered if Gu Xuanze would compromise. If this stalemate continued, it would not only affect the progress of the production but also their relationship.
If Ah Ze tried to pressure him with the contract again today, Lu Youze would throw the contract right in his face.
Annoyed by his own thoughts, Lu Youze quickly got ready. As he opened the door to leave, he saw Gu Xuanze standing there.
His handsome face showed signs of exhaustion, his stubble growing out—he clearly hadn’t slept all night.
“Youze, I’m sorry,” Gu Xuanze said, taking the first step back. “I promise I won’t force you to use a stunt double. But you also have to promise me that you won’t push yourself. If I think an action is too dangerous, you must use one.”
Lu Youze smiled, “Well, then you can’t consider riding a horse dangerous.”
“To me, it really is dangerous,” Gu Xuanze said softly, looking at Lu Youze as if he had made a great decision. “But for you, I’ll endure. Anyway, there’s a doctor on set. Let’s just follow the doctor’s advice, okay?”
“Love you!” Lu Youze stepped forward and kissed Gu Xuanze on the forehead. Even though he had been furious with him last night, now, he found himself loving him even more than yesterday. “Go freshen up. I’ll wait for you so we can go to the set together.”
Ou Yan had arrived earlier than them. When he arrived at the set, besides the gloomy Wu Liyi and some staff preparing for the shoot, the other actors hadn’t shown up yet. It wasn’t that this lazy young master, who was famous for being late in the entertainment industry, had suddenly turned over a new leaf. It was just that the little incident at the door yesterday had really gotten on his nerves.
“Ou Yan, don’t tell me you have a crush on me?”
In a daze, Ou Yan suddenly heard Lu Youze’s teasing voice again.
Ou Yan jumped in shock, and the script slipped from his hand.
He looked around nervously. Seeing that the staff were busy with preparations and no one was paying attention to him, he finally relaxed.
Oh Yeon quickly picked up the script and then lay back on the rattan chair. He really didn’t understand what he was feeling guilty about. He rubbed his temples, as the lack of sleep had left him with a severe headache. He couldn’t help but glance toward the door again. Lu Youze, the workaholic who was always the first to arrive on set, still hadn’t shown up.
Oh Yeon rarely regretted his decisions, but right now, he truly regretted taking this drama. His initial intent had been simple: to watch Lu Youze make a fool of himself up close, while also stepping on him a few times. He was a person who held grudges, and he still remembered Lu Youze’s interview where he said, “You’re not worthy,” and had carried that resentment until now.
It was from that moment that this young master, who had initially entered the entertainment industry just for fun, started to take things a little more seriously. He thought to himself that once he achieved more than Lu Youze, he’d throw the same words back in his face.
He could already picture Lu Youze’s expression. He thought it would be a very satisfying sight.
But after spending time with him recently, he realized Lu Youze had changed. It was like he had been reborn, completely different from before. He had heard that Lu Youze suffered such a heavy blow that he lost his memory, but then he posted a sentimental little essay saying he had recovered his memory. Oh Yeon was skeptical, but he couldn’t be bothered to investigate further. The Lu Youze now was the kind of person he was least equipped to deal with, which ironically made him feel like more of a joke than Lu Youze.
It seemed that since last night, all he had been thinking about was Lu Youze.
Oh Yeon knocked on his head, trying to focus and clear his mind. He put on his rarely worn glasses and began to seriously review the script in his hands. He had quite a few scenes today, including a major one, so it was better to go over it again.
“Good morning, everyone,” Lu Youze’s cheerful voice rang out on set. “Mr. Gu is treating everyone to breakfast.”
Though Gu Xuanze hadn’t directly lost his temper with the staff last night, and his voice was as calm as usual, his aura was terrifying. In addition, Wu Liyi had been wearing a dark face since arriving this morning, looking like a “keep out” sign. Some of the staff were a bit on edge, afraid that these two would start arguing again like last night.
Oh Yeon didn’t move. His eyes immediately noticed their fingers tightly intertwined.
Heh, his smile deepened. The reconciliation was quick.
For some reason, Oh Yeon felt a bit suffocated. He thought it must be because he hadn’t gotten to see a joke and was disappointed.
“This is made by Chef Fang from the Gu family,” Lu Youze smiled brightly at everyone, trying to lighten the mood. “Even if you have money, you might not be able to eat it. Please, take a break and try the renowned chef’s skill.”
Oh Yeon didn’t even move his bottom. He couldn’t help but compare. Hmph, the chefs at his house weren’t any worse than this Chef Fang.
Of course, for the other staff members, getting the chance to taste a dish made by a legendary chef was a rare opportunity, so they all gathered around.
“Wow, it smells so good!”
“It’s perfect in color, smell, and taste!”
“This… Mr. Gu really went all out. This meal must be about half my annual salary.”
“By the way, Teacher Wan used to mention Chef Fang often, saying his culinary skills were amazing.”
