Chapter 23: “Living Together”

After breakfast, Jin Yue was about to tidy up her things to go home, but Qi Bei wouldn’t let her open the door.

“Woman!”

“Stop!”

Oops, she couldn’t help herself, let’s do it again.

“Yue Yue, what I said last night wasn’t a joke. If you want to go home, I’ll go with you. I’ll also talk to Uncle Jin about our engagement.”

“Engagement? Are you kidding me? We haven’t even gotten back together yet.”

So that was his intention. Jin Yue blinked, her eyes moving quickly. She sheepishly said, “In that case, we don’t need to live together, right? I promise, the things you’re worried about won’t happen. Really.”

Jin Yue raised her hand like she was swearing, looking sincere.

But then, she remembered all the promises she made before…

Qi Bei smiled slightly, not quite convinced, “Look at your promises, do you think they mean anything? Your credibility with me is already zero, little liar.” He playfully pinched her nose.

Jin Yue pouted, unable to refute, especially thinking about the promise she made about attending the banquet, only to try to escape.

“Alright, I’ll take you home.”

Qi Bei took Jin Yue’s hand and started walking toward the door.

“So, you were just trying to scare me, huh? So annoying!” When Jin Yue saw Qi Bei stop talking about the previous topics and start to actually take her home, she began to act up again.

“If we’re not going to your house, how can we talk about engagement?”

A smart person doesn’t lose out on what’s right in front of them. Living together was no big deal compared to getting engaged. Besides, it’s always better to have something close rather than far away!

Qi Bei continued carrying Jin Yue toward the garage. Jin Yue resisted. She had already agreed, so why was she still being taken to her own house?

Thus, she began twisting in Qi Bei’s arms. In this situation, after a whole night of being schooled by the overbearing CEO, Qi Bei wanted to say, “Stop moving, if you keep moving, I can’t guarantee what might happen!”

But when the words were about to leave his mouth, he remembered what Jin Yue had said this morning, and he quickly changed his tune: “Let’s go to your house to grab your things and say hi to Uncle Jin.”

“Just don’t go inside, I don’t want my dad to know, I’ll take care of it myself.”

Jin Yue sweet-talked him, and Qi Bei didn’t press the issue further. They reached a compromise.

After that day, Jin Yue couldn’t quite remember how things progressed. She just knew that she made up an excuse to say she was going to live with Qian Shasha and that was when she officially started “living together” with Qi Bei.

As a big company CEO, Qi Bei was indeed very busy. Right after she moved in, he had to leave for a business trip to England, which gave Jin Yue some time to adjust.

If only he stayed away on business trips forever, Jin Yue thought.
