Chapter 29: Just a Novice in Love
“Brother is so invested in this woman. I wonder how Grandpa will react when he finds out?”
Qi Tian muttered to himself, staying behind.
Yes! The Qi family definitely wouldn’t approve if they found out. She couldn’t lose her composure. Su Chenxi thought this to herself, and her expression seemed to indicate she had planned.
Over there, after Qi Bei walked out of the private room with Jin Yue, he happened to receive a phone call from Liu Jinghao.
“Yeah, I’m talking to someone here. Want to come over?”
It wasn’t clear what was said on the other end, but in any case, Qi Bei didn’t leave with Jin Yue. Instead, he stayed in place.
At that moment, a female server was walking towards them, carrying a tray with some drinks on it.
The server was walking fine, and when she got close, Jin Yue moved aside to let her pass.
But, for some reason, when they crossed paths, her elbow suddenly hit something, and the tray fell to the ground with a loud crash. The drinks spilled everywhere.
Then, Jin Yue saw the server stumbling and falling towards her, letting out a shrill scream.
Jin Yue wanted to catch her, but Qi Bei suddenly pulled her back.
So, the server fell hard to the ground, and the spilled alcohol soaked her uniform. The already tight-fitting uniform now perfectly highlighted her curves.
The shirt, now wet with the alcohol, became a little see-through, exposing the server’s chest right in front of them.
Jin Yue couldn’t help but be stunned. She stared at the scene, unable to look away—it was quite a spectacle!
Suddenly, a large hand came down and covered Jin Yue’s eyes. “Don’t look at this!”
Oh, so he didn’t want her to look. Well, if she couldn’t, then he must be looking instead. Not doing it would be uncharacteristic of her!
Jin Yue angrily shoved Qi Bei’s hand away, only to meet the pitiful gaze of the server, who was desperately trying to cover herself but failing to find anything to hide behind. She looked at Qi Bei with pleading eyes and said, “Mr. Qi, could I possibly borrow your jacket?”
The server’s hands were crossed over her chest, but even in this position, her curves were accentuated, making her already ample chest appear even larger.
What a mess.
At this moment, if Jin Yue didn’t understand what was going on, she would be a fool.
This server’s methods were so low-level. What was the point of doing this? If she had the guts, she should just tie the person up and throw her on the bed.
But, well, since it was happening, it also gave her a chance to play along!
Jin Yue started criticizing Qi Bei: “You won’t let me look, but you’re looking yourself. Isn’t this classic—only allowing the officials to set fires while forbidding the common people to light lamps? Tell me, why are you looking at her? Is it because she has such a good figure? Have you taken a liking to her?”
Then, she glanced down at her own chest and, in a somewhat aggrieved tone, added, “You saw her and now you think I’m not good enough, huh?”
“Ugh, I knew it! You men say one thing but think another!”
Qi Bei chuckled lightly, “I didn’t want you to look so you wouldn’t learn bad things. I’ve been watching you, little rascal, doesn’t it feel nice? I don’t care about other people, but I know that Yueyue has the best figure. Is your acting all learned from Haozi?”
Jin Yue: “Oh, so you’ve been caught! How do you know she has a good figure if you haven’t been looking?!”
Qi Bei: “Didn’t you say it yourself, Yueyue? I didn’t say anything.”
Jin Yue: “Are you calling me dumb?”
Qi Bei: “Yueyue, your silly look is also cute.”
“So annoying… I can’t win this argument, what else can I do?”
Jin Yue sulked, clearly frustrated. She was certain her skills weren’t refined enough yet. Once she practiced more, she would definitely come back for a rematch!
Qi Bei looked at his little girlfriend, who had just been so lively, but now seemed down again. His heart felt heavy.
Whether she was pouting, happy, or arguing, he just couldn’t stand seeing her unhappy.
He wanted to step forward to comfort her, but Jin Yue, in a playful act of annoyance, backed away, leaning against the wall. Qi Bei stood over her, his presence almost enveloping her from behind.
The server, seeing how oblivious the two were to their surroundings, had been largely ignored.
Although the weather hadn’t gotten cold yet, sitting on the chilly floor while soaking wet wasn’t exactly comfortable. She was about to speak up to interrupt the couple when a male voice beat her to it.
“I say, you two should at least consider the occasion. Are you really doing a ‘wall slam’ in the hallway? Little sister-in-law, are you playing the ‘CEO’ game?”
Upon hearing the voice, Jin Yue immediately recognized Liu Jinghao. But the idea of her playing the “CEO” game? That was too far out of line!
“I think you should get your eyes checked. Only a fool would play the ‘CEO’ game. I’m no fool,” she said, squatting down and slipping out of Qi Bei’s embrace, running away.
Hmph, she wasn’t about to stand there like a fool. She’d wait in the car instead; after all, the two men were just talking, and she had no interest in listening.
The server, seeing her boss had arrived, knew his temperament well. She quickly scurried away, hoping her boss wouldn’t hold tonight’s incident against her and would let her off the hook.
However, after work that night, the server received a dismissal notice. But that’s a different story.
Qi Bei stood in place, confused. Why had Yueyue said that? Didn’t she say she liked the ‘CEO’ type?
“Hey, are you going to just stand there? Little sister-in-law already left,” Liu Jinghao teased.
Liu Jinghao had been torn about whether to tell Qi Bei the news he had learned after Jin Yue’s visit to the bar. After all, he had seen how upset Qi Bei was after the breakup, and it wasn’t pretty.
But if he didn’t tell him, knowing Qi Bei’s nature, he would definitely confront Jin Yue. Liu Jinghao feared this might cause even more problems, and Qi Bei might end up regretting it.
Having found out Qi Bei was here tonight, Liu Jinghao decided to call and check on the situation.
After some thought, he decided to speak with Qi Bei in person. This was their relationship, and he couldn’t make the decision for him.
When he arrived, he saw Qi Bei and Jin Yue together again. It seemed that Qi Bei couldn’t hold back, even if he didn’t know the full story.
“Hey Haozi, do you think Yueyue likes the ‘CEO’ type?” Qi Bei asked, pretending to cough and casually tossing the question to Liu Jinghao.
Haozi was more experienced and probably understood women’s minds better.
“What? Qi Bei, don’t tell me you think little sister-in-law likes the ‘CEO’ type, so you’ve been acting like that in front of her?”
Liu Jinghao, knowing Qi Bei since they were kids, immediately guessed that he had been acting like that based on this question.
Remembering Jin Yue’s words from earlier, Liu Jinghao couldn’t help but laugh in front of Qi Bei, his lips curling into an uncontrollable grin.
Qi Bei gave him a deadpan look, his eyes carrying a hint of threat.
Liu Jinghao quickly wiped away the smile and thought to himself, “I need to understand; Qi Bei is just a rookie in love. Haha.”
He then began to share his relationship tips with Qi Bei, who, though appearing uninterested, was listening carefully.
