The Best Actor with a Baby Who is Hated by the Entire Internet [Transmigration] Chapter 113

Lu Youze set an alarm for 5:00 AM. The crew was scheduled to start work at 8:00 AM, and he planned to return to the hotel, meet Gu Xuanze, have breakfast together, and then head to the set. However, before the alarm went off, he woke up in pain at around 3:00 AM. His lower abdomen suddenly hurt intensely. While he could have endured the pain, considering the baby in his womb, he didn’t dare to take it lightly. He instinctively reached for his phone to call Gu Xuanze but quickly realized that calling him at this hour would only worry him. He hurriedly called Lu Bo and briefly explained the situation.

Less than a minute after hanging up, Lu Bo arrived, and Qiao Ma followed him. When they saw Lu Youze drenched in sweat and looking extremely pale, they were both shocked.

“Doctor Lei is on his way,” Lu Bo said to Lu Youze. “Young Master, try lying on your left side. It should feel a lot more comfortable.”

Lu Youze quickly followed his advice. In his world, men didn’t get pregnant, so he had no idea how to be a pregnant husband.

“Qiao Ma, go get a basin of warm water,” Lu Bo instructed. “Apply a warm compress to the Young Master’s abdomen, but be careful not to make it too hot—it could burn the skin.”

“Okay, I’ll go right now.”

“Young Master, you can also gently massage your abdomen,” Lu Bo added. “Would you like me to help?”

“No, it’s fine.”

“Start from the belly button and gently massage in a clockwise direction… Yes, just like that.”

After massaging for a while, Lu Youze felt the pain easing a little. “Lu Bo, you’re quite experienced.”

“When Madam was pregnant, Master would ask around for advice, and I listened in, so I picked up a thing or two,” Lu Bo explained.

“I see!” Lu Youze thought of Gu Xuanze running around trying to take care of him and couldn’t help but smile. He gently massaged his abdomen, feeling grateful that the child inside him would be born surrounded by love and anticipation from both parents.

Qiao Ma returned with the warm water, and Lu Lihai entered right behind her. He frowned as he watched Qiao Ma wiping the sweat from Lu Youze’s forehead and applying a warm compress to him. After seeing that his son’s pale face had softened a little, he spoke up. “Youze, all your work should be put on hold for now.”

“Dad, I’m fine,” Lu Youze quickly reassured him. “Look, the pain has already lessened.”

“When you think it’s fine, it’ll be too late!” His father’s voice was full of authority, leaving no room for argument. He thought back to Ren Mi—if he had been more assertive back then, Ren Mi might not have gotten into trouble. He couldn’t afford to soften his stance this time and let the tragedy repeat itself.

“I…”

“Master, Young Master, how about we wait for Doctor Lei to arrive and check the situation first?” Lu Bo interrupted Lu Youze, offering a smile to Lu Lihai.

The father and son had finally eased their relationship, and he didn’t want them to damage it over this. Though, he did agree with the Master’s previous words.

“Call that Gu kid,” Lu Lihai turned to Lu Bo, his tone angry. “Tell him to come over immediately.”

“Dad, can we wait until morning for him to come?” Lu Youze spoke weakly.

Lu Lihai gave him a glance and didn’t say anything, but his look clearly meant there was no room for discussion.

Lu Bo, showing good sense, immediately dialed Gu Xuanze’s number.

It was just past 3:00 AM, yet Gu Xuanze answered the call instantly. Lu Youze took note of this, thinking he needed to be more mindful of his dear Ah Ze’s sleep patterns in the future.

“Is this Mr. Gu?” Lu Bo’s voice was cold, and he seemed to have some issues with the future son-in-law. “Our Young Master is unwell. The Master wants you to come over immediately.”

Lu Bo, the way you’re speaking, Ah Ze might misunderstand, Lu Youze thought helplessly. He tried to smile and reached for the phone. “Lu Bo, give me the phone. I’ll talk to Ah Ze.”

“Mr. Gu has already hung up,” Lu Bo said, pointing to the phone with an innocent look.

Lu Youze could only hope that Gu Xuanze would be careful while driving and avoid speeding. The last thing he wanted was for him to end up in the police station tomorrow—or, worse, get into a car accident.

Lu Lihai sat quietly on the sofa by the bed, not saying a word, while Lu Bo stood next to him.

Qiao Ma continued to ramble about precautions, but Lu Youze wasn’t in the mood to listen to any of it.

Fortunately, the strange atmosphere in the room didn’t last long, as Dr. Lei arrived soon after.

Dr. Lei conducted a full examination of Lu Youze and gave him an injection. Afterward, the pain in his abdomen eased significantly, and he could at least sit up without difficulty. Dr. Lei prescribed some medication, and Lu Bo took the prescription and left to have the medicine prepared.

“How is it?” Lu Lihai stood up, his expression still stern, but his voice now clearly filled with concern. “Is the baby okay? Should we go to the hospital?”

“Don’t worry too much, Master,” Dr. Lei said gently. “Young Master’s body isn’t in serious trouble. The pain was likely caused by overexertion and lack of rest, leading to muscle strain, which then triggered abdominal pain. A little more rest and time will help.” He thought for a moment and then added, “Though, even though Young Master’s condition is fine and the baby is developing healthily, you know that anything can happen during pregnancy. Young Master’s work sometimes requires him to stay up all night. As a doctor, I would recommend that he stop working until the baby is born.”

Hearing this, Lu Youze felt frustrated. It seemed impossible now to finish filming The Days Walking the Jianghu during his pregnancy.

“I know!” Lu Li Hai nodded, then shot a stern look at Lu Youze, who had smartly kept quiet. “Dr. Lei, thank you. I’ll have the driver take you home.”

After seeing off the doctor, Gu Xuanze also arrived. Normally, it would take more than forty minutes to drive from the hotel to his house, but Gu Xuanze managed to get there in less than half an hour. Lu Youze could only be thankful that it was late at night, and there weren’t many cars on the road. Gu Xuanze arrived safely, and Lu Youze didn’t dare think what would happen if something went wrong on the road.

“Youze, are you okay?” Gu Xuanze quickly ran over to Lu Youze’s side and asked urgently.

The usually well-dressed, elite-looking CEO Gu, was now casually wearing a coat, his hair slightly messy. But a handsome guy is still handsome, no matter the situation. In fact, this casual look added a bit of charm, contrasting with his usual neat image, giving it a different flavor.

Lu Youze thought his Gu Xuanze was unbelievably handsome from every angle. Putting everything else aside, just seeing his face every day was a treat.

“I’m fine.” Lu Youze gently patted Gu Xuanze’s face, not using much force, of course, as he couldn’t bear to, but just to calm his worried lover down. “Lu Bo exaggerated a bit, sorry to worry you.”

“Thank goodness.” Gu Xuanze hugged Lu Youze tightly, feeling a joy as if he’d regained something lost. On the way here, he had been worried about what if something happened to Lu Youze. Now, seeing him fine, his anxious heart finally relaxed.

“Youze, you…” Lu Youze could feel the tremble in Gu Xuanze’s body, but didn’t continue speaking. Instead, he smiled and embraced him back. “I’m fine, and I won’t let anything happen to me.”

His voice carried a sense of reassurance for Gu Xuanze. Soon, Gu Xuanze calmed down, and the trembling stopped.

“Ahem.” Lu Li Hai cleared his throat twice, looking at Gu Xuanze with a not-so-pleased expression. “Gu’s kid, we need to talk.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xuanze immediately stood up from the bed, returning to his usual self. “Alright.”

“Wait.” Lu Youze could roughly guess what they would talk about. “Are you going to discuss me? In that case, shouldn’t I, the person involved, be here to listen?”

Just at that moment, Lu Bo entered the room with the medication. “Young master, Dr. Lei said you should take the medicine and rest well. It’s better for both you and the child.”

“Youze, don’t worry.” Gu Xuanze gently patted Lu Youze’s head and smiled slightly. “The old man won’t make things difficult for me.”

Lu Youze felt conflicted. What he was really worried about wasn’t that; he was worried about these two teaming up against him.

Ah, forget it.

If it really affected the child, he would have to suspend all work. Anyway, he trusted Gu Xuanze to handle everything with the crew so that no one would have any complaints.

Lu Youze sighed, almost feeling helpless. His hand unconsciously moved to his abdomen. Ever since he had an honest conversation with Gu Xuanze at the hotel, he had gradually accepted the child. At least, this child, belonging to Gu Xuanze, was growing inside him. His mindset had changed from before. Now, he was looking forward to the child’s birth.
