Chapter 82
Chu Ning looked at the teacher, knowing that it was pointless to argue, and stood up to leave.
The teacher let out a sigh of relief, thinking to herself: “Fortunately, that’s over.”
Chu Ning walked out of the classroom and went to the conference room to meet Chu Xin.
Outside the conference room, there were indeed two black-clad bodyguards standing guard. One of them, Wu Hui, was someone she recognized – he was Chu Xin’s Beast Master and an S-level Beast Master.
“Miss,” the two bodyguards said in unison, bowing to Chu Ning as she approached.
However, Chu Ning’s expression remained cold.
“I’ve already cut ties with the Chu family. I’m not related to them anymore.”
Wu Hui’s face flashed with a complex expression, and he seemed to want to say something but hesitated.
“The mistress has instructed that you can enter directly,” he said, still addressing her as “Miss”.
Chu Ning shot him a disdainful glance and walked past him into the conference room.
Inside, Chu Xin stood up as soon as Chu Ning entered.
“Xiao Ning,” Chu Xin called out, her expression filled with concern.
But Chu Ning felt a sense of discomfort.
“Please don’t address me like that. We’re not related anymore,” she said coldly.
Chu Xin’s expression stiffened, but she didn’t get angry.
“Sit down and let’s talk,” she said, still concerned.
Chu Ning looked at Chu Xin and walked over to sit down across from her.
“It was me who beat up Chu Yan. I’ll compensate for her medical expenses,” Chu Ning said directly.
“Additionally, I won’t promise that I won’t take action against her again in the future.” In fact, Chu Ning was certain that she would take action against Chu Yan again.
Chu Xin listened to Chu Ning’s words without getting angry. Instead, she looked at her daughter with a hint of appreciation.
When she was young, Chu Xin had been like that too – this was what it meant to be her daughter.
Before Chu Xin could respond, Chu Ning’s brow furrowed.
“If you don’t want Chu Yan to suffer, you can transfer her to another school. Otherwise, you can’t stop me from dealing with her,” Chu Ning continued.
Chu Xin finally spoke up, “Let it go. I won’t transfer Chu Yan, and I won’t make things difficult for you or stop you from finding Chu Yan. The private grudges between you and Chu Yan are none of my business.”
Chu Ning’s eyes flashed with surprise, and then her expression turned cold again.
“Since you won’t interfere, then there’s nothing more to discuss.”
“I still have class, so I’ll leave first,” Chu Ning said, standing up.
“Wait—” Chu Xin hastily called out to her.
Chu Ning’s mouth curled up into a mocking smile as she sat back down.
“What’s wrong? Regretting what you said earlier?”
“No, Xiao Ning, you misunderstand,” Chu Xin hastened to explain.
“Call me Chu Ning,” Chu Ning said, her voice icy.
“Okay, Chu Ning,” Chu Xin sighed.
“Chu Ning, no matter what you believe, you’re more important to me than Chu Yan—”
Chu Ning snorted in contempt. “If you’re trying to tell me that, then I’m not interested.”
Chu Xin’s face turned red with embarrassment, but she persisted.
“Wait—” she called out to Chu Ning again.
As Chu Ning looked at her, she saw a hint of tension in Chu Xin’s eyes.
“I want to know, after you left the Chu family, where did you go?” Chu Xin finally asked.
Chu Ning smiled sarcastically, with a “you’ll see” expression.
Chu Xin’s face turned awkward, but she endured it.
“I’ve already cut ties with the Chu family. Where I go is none of your business,” Chu Ning said coldly.
“Xiao Ning—”
“Chu Ning,” Chu Ning interrupted.
“Okay, Chu Ning. I just want to care about you. You have my blood in you, and you have an unbreakable connection with the Chu family. It’s not something that can be severed with just a letter.”
“Previous things – I was at fault as a mother, and I hurt you. But Chu Ning, I just hope that the Chu family will do well, and I hope you’ll have a good future.”
“You don’t need to care about me. Our relationship has already been severed. If you think it hasn’t, then that’s just your illusion.”
“Let it go. I’ll be fine without you.”
Chu Xin was taken aback by Chu Ning’s words.
“Okay, you can leave now.”
This time, Chu Ning didn’t bother responding to Chu Xin and left directly.
Chu Xin saw that there was no point in asking anything else and didn’t stop Chu Ning.
As Chu Ning walked out of the conference room, she exchanged a glance with Wu Hui, who was waiting outside.
A while later, Chu Xin also left the conference room.
“Wife Master,” Wu Hui bowed.
“Follow Chu Ning and see where she goes after school. Also, arrange for someone to keep an eye on her at school.”
“Is it to stop Miss from taking action against Chu Yan?” Wu Hui asked.
“No, just keep an eye on Chu Ning and report her every move to me. Chu Yan has money and power, but she was still beaten up by Chu Ning. That’s all I need to know.”
Wu Hui looked at Chu Xin, who seemed to be thinking that Chu Yan was no longer favored.
On the other hand, Chu Ning was unaware that Chu Xin had left Lanhua High School after their meeting.
She returned to her classroom and attended classes with her classmates.
The next class was a practical class, which Chu Ning found too simple. She preferred the theoretical classes.
But Chu Ning didn’t slack off. She had never attended school in her previous life and found it quite interesting. She decided to be a “good student” for a while.
However, it seemed that she couldn’t be a “good student” after all.
At lunchtime, Zhou Ting and two other Beast Masters found her, having learned about Chu Yan’s beating.
They took Chu Ning to a secluded area behind the school cafeteria.
As the three Beast Masters secretly rejoiced and mocked Chu Ning for being foolish, Chu Ning was also secretly laughing at their foolishness.
“Chu Ning, if you know what’s good for you, kneel down and apologize to Yan Yan. We’ll spare your life since you’re Yan Yan’s sister,” Bai Yu threatened.
Normally, they wouldn’t dare to threaten a female like that.
But since Chu Ning had bullied their future wife, they had to take action.
Chu Ning gave Bai Yu a look that said “are you stupid?”
“Did Chu Yan ask you to come here?” she asked calmly.
“Yan Yan is still in the infirmary after being beaten by you. How could she ask us to come?” Chen Chen replied.
