A Little Life in Another World Chapter 14

Chapter 14: Looking Forward To It…

The oil lamp on the table emitted a faint light. Qi Wanfeng tidied up the things in the yard before returning to the house. It was already dark. He boiled some hot water, warmed it with cold water, and then brought it in to wipe his husband’s body. Since his husband had been lying in bed, he would wipe his body every day.

The warm towel touched his body, and Cao Xiangnan sighed, feeling like he was going to get moldy after lying in bed for so many days. Fortunately, it wasn’t summer, otherwise, even if he didn’t die, his skin would really rot.

But he knew that Qi Wanfeng deserved a lot of credit for this. If it weren’t for this man, he was afraid that even if he wanted to borrow a corpse to return his soul, he wouldn’t have a complete body. Then he wouldn’t have come to this world, and wouldn’t have met Qi Wanfeng.

The two people were very close, and the atmosphere in the house was a bit ambiguous. Cao Xiangnan could smell the clean scent on Qi Wanfeng’s body. He liked this smell very much. “Wanfeng,” he called out.

“Mm, almost done,” Qi Wanfeng responded softly, earnestly wiping the person’s body.

The child in the corner of the bed was already asleep, smacking his lips as if he was having a sweet dream, sleeping soundly.

When the towel touched a sensitive area, Cao Xiangnan couldn’t help but shiver. Poor him, a virgin, hadn’t even been to bed with anyone, and now he was reacting to the touch. He heard Qi Wanfeng’s muffled laughter, and his face couldn’t help but turn red. He wanted to escape but couldn’t, so he could only say, “Wanfeng, stop wiping. You should come up and sleep too.”

“After you get better…” Qi Wanfeng said in his ear. He didn’t say the words after that, but Cao Xiangnan’s throat couldn’t help but roll. Suddenly, he was really looking forward to the days when he got better.

In his previous life, he was still a virgin. He hadn’t even touched a woman, let alone a man. But he found that he wasn’t repulsed by doing more intimate things with Qi Wanfeng. On the contrary, he was looking forward to it. Although he was also a little jealous that the original owner had touched this man before him and even had a child with him, and Qi Wanfeng had another one in his belly, he felt uncomfortable.

But now that he had become Cao Xiangnan, he would replace him in the days to come and be with Qi Wanfeng and the child. He also had to thank the original Cao Xiangnan. If he hadn’t left, he wouldn’t have come to this world.

After Qi Wanfeng finished wiping his husband’s body, he took the water out to pour it away, and then came back to get some water to wipe his own body. He took the oil lamp to the kitchen, poured out the medicine that was warming on the stove, drank it, and then returned to the house.

The rustling sound finally stopped. On a small bed, he slept at one end, and Qi Wanfeng and the child slept at the other. Cao Xiangnan knew that Qi Wanfeng was afraid of touching his wound. Hearing the person lie down, he called out, “Wanfeng.”

“Mm.” Qi Wanfeng hugged the child in his arms, patting him gently. Only at this time of day did he feel happy, with his husband and good child by his side. “Sleep,” he said.

“…Good night.” Cao Xiangnan lay in bed and couldn’t sleep. There was no clock here. He didn’t know the exact time, but he thought it should be around seven o’clock in modern times, not even eight o’clock yet.

People who lived in big cities didn’t consider eight o’clock as nighttime at all. It was really hard for him to sleep at this time, especially since he had slept all day, he really didn’t feel sleepy at all.

The oil lamp in the room was blown out, and the room was pitch black. The ancient night was really so dark that there wasn’t even a sliver of light. Cao Xiangnan listened for a while and knew that Qi Wanfeng and the child were asleep.

Qi Wanfeng had worked all day and had to get up early to work tomorrow. He had been holding on since his husband had an accident. After being tired for so many days, he finally put down his heart today when he knew that his husband had woken up. As soon as he lay down, he fell asleep.

Staring at the roof, Cao Xiangnan was thinking about what he could do for his wife and child. After thinking for a long time, he couldn’t come up with a reason. He, a university student majoring in science and engineering, had run to this ancient farming world. If only he had studied agriculture in college, at least he would have a place to use his skills here.

But what could he do now?

His mind was full of jumbled thoughts. Ideals were full, but reality was skinny. Waiting for him tomorrow was an even skinnier reality.

Cao Xiangnan fell asleep in a mess of random thoughts…
