Chapter 49: His Score is Increasing
Seeing that she was about to leave, Jiang Cheng, unsure if she had paid the bill, quickly took out his wallet and tossed it to Lu Zhixia, “Go pay the bill.”
As he said this, he hurriedly followed Ji Shuyi.
Seeing Ji Shuyi leave in a huff, Qin Feng, eager to play the hero, quickly stood up to stop Jiang Cheng.
“Get lost!”
Jiang Cheng impatiently pushed him away with a cold glare and strode after Ji Shuyi. Being tall and long-legged, he quickly caught up to Ji Shuyi. At this moment, he wanted to hold her hand but didn’t dare to.
After they left, everyone in the cafeteria looked at each other in disbelief and unison, before erupting in discussions about whether the Great Devil Jiang had been possessed.
Leaving the cafeteria, Ji Shuyi walked towards the library, with Jiang Cheng following closely beside her, looking down and trying to coax her:
“Little fairy, don’t be angry, okay?”
During lunch break, there weren’t many people around. Ji Shuyi finally looked up at him resentfully and said angrily as she walked, “You said you sent messages, but who knows if those messages were really from you?
Twenty-four hours a day, one hundred and twenty hours in five days,
If you really wanted to see me, you could have made time to see me.
You just think you’ve got me now, so you don’t want to put in the effort anymore.
You call me a渣女 (zhānǚ, “scumbag girl”), you’re the real scumbag!”
“I…” Jiang Cheng explained helplessly, “Who could get my phone and send you messages? I did try to find you these past few days, but it was too late when I got to your house, so I didn’t want to disturb you. I was thinking of finishing up quickly and coming to find you.”
“If you were afraid of disturbing me, couldn’t you have told the people at the door?” The angry little girl’s logic was very clear, retorting every sentence, “Didn’t you used to have people pass on messages to me? Why can’t you think of that now?”
She pouted, feeling more and more aggrieved, “You’ve changed. It’s only been a short time. I’m glad I didn’t agree to be with you, or I’d be crying my eyes out now.”
“I haven’t changed, and I won’t change towards you.”
Seeing her aggrieved pout, Jiang Cheng’s heart ached. He couldn’t help but reach out and pull her into his arms, hugging her tightly, and said, “I’ve been missing you like crazy these past few days.”
“Don’t hug me!” Ji Shuyi struggled resentfully in his arms.
Jiang Cheng only hugged her tighter, and sighed in exasperation, “I won’t do this again. In the future, no matter how busy I am, no matter how late it is, I’ll come find you and let you see me, okay?”
Ji Shuyi said one thing but meant another, “I don’t want to see you.”
Jiang Cheng immediately said, “Okay, little fairy doesn’t want to see me, but I want to see you.”
Ji Shuyi was instantly disarmed by his repeated calling her “little fairy,” and her struggling lessened considerably.
Seeing that the person in his arms wasn’t struggling as much, Jiang Cheng breathed a sigh of relief and continued, “This person doesn’t know how to be in a relationship. You can tell me directly what kind of relationship experience you like, and I’ll do it all. If you’re unhappy, tell me immediately, don’t bottle it up.”
Thinking about how Chen Xingyi had told her some things last time, and she was moved and felt sorry for him, he truthfully told her as if begging for forgiveness, in a low and deep voice:
“To finish things up sooner and come see you, I haven’t closed my eyes for two days and two nights. I really haven’t been neglectful or distant towards you.”
He said, “Jiang Cheng will always be worthy of Ji Shuyi’s unconditional trust.”
Ji Shuyi completely gave up struggling, and even couldn’t help but slowly look up at him from his arms. Only then did she notice the red streaks in his tired eyes.
For girls, the person they like deep down will always calm down when coaxed, and even feel sorry for the other person instead.
Girls are simply a treasure given to this world by heaven, warm and lovely.
Ji Shuyi was like that at this moment, and she increasingly realized that the Great Devil, who used to be stingy with words, was not only gentle when talking to her but also talked more and more.
Just to coax her to stop being angry?
But even though she felt sorry for him, she didn’t want to tell him at this moment, only saying sullenly, “I’m going to the library to read.”
Jiang Cheng immediately replied, “Then I’ll accompany you.”
After so long, Jiang Cheng also understood her personality. Even if she wasn’t angry anymore, she wouldn’t say anything nice to him, as if there was a stubborn little proud ghost living in her heart.
But it didn’t matter, he was willing to indulge her.
Ji Shuyi didn’t refuse again, only saying, “Whatever.”
Although most students went back to their dormitories to rest during lunch break, there were still many people on the road. Seeing the two people who had just been hugging, especially the way the Great Devil Jiang was coaxing someone, it was simply a huge shock.
Everyone quickly went to the school forum to post and discuss.
Laughing to death! As long as the post contains relevant keywords, it will be instantly blocked the next second.
Because Jiang Cheng had seen some dirty words under the posts on the forum before. Many people seemed to have their brains full of feces. As soon as they saw a man and a woman in the same frame, they would create endless yellow rumors!
In the evening, Chen Xingyi came to Jiang Cheng’s classroom during self-study and asked him:
“Haircut, wanna go?”
Jiang Cheng: “No.”
Chen Xingyi looked at Jiang Cheng’s hair and said, “You should cut your hair.”
Jiang Cheng: “No cut.”
Chen Xingyi was surprised because Jiang Cheng used to be very diligent in getting his buzz cut trimmed. Why did he suddenly refuse to cut it? Puzzled, he asked:
“Why aren’t you getting a haircut?”
Jiang Cheng: “I want to grow it out.”
Seeing him slumped on the table, not wanting to say anything, Chen Xingyi assumed he was tired and didn’t want to bother him for the moment, so he slipped off to the barber shop by himself.
When evening self-study ended, Ji Shuyi thought Jiang Cheng would go back to catch up on sleep after his afternoon class, because he never attended evening self-study before, but she didn’t expect to see Jiang Cheng standing at the door, slightly raising his chin and drinking bottled coffee. He seemed very sleepy, using coffee to perk himself up.
Ji Shuyi finally couldn’t help but say, “Why don’t you go home and sleep if you’re so sleepy?”
Jiang Cheng casually threw the empty coffee bottle into the trash can next to him, lowered his head and smiled at the approaching girl, “I wanted to send you back.”
“I have a driver picking me up.”
“Let him go back himself, I’ll take you.”
Ji Shuyi looked up at him, hesitated, and then raised her chin slightly and said, “Then… let you take me once.”
Jiang Cheng looked at the little tsundere in front of him and smiled, “Then thank you for the fairy’s favor.”
Walking out of the teaching building, through the sparsely populated small pavilion, the night was dark. Jiang Cheng looked down at the person beside him and asked casually, “Can I hold your hand?”
“No! …Ouch!”
Ji Shuyi hurriedly dodged him, suddenly her foot softened and she twisted her ankle.
“Did you twist it?” Jiang Cheng anxiously helped her to a nearby bench, squatted down in front of her, lifted her twisted foot, moved it gently, and asked, “Does it hurt?”
“It doesn’t hurt, I just twisted it a bit, it’s okay.” Ji Shuyi frowned and said truthfully.
But Jiang Cheng looked at her furrowed brows and said worriedly, “I’ll carry you out.”
Ji Shuyi immediately refused, “No need.”
Jiang Cheng casually threw out another sentence, “Then I’ll hold you.”
His attitude was firm as he looked at her, “Choose one.”
Ji Shuyi felt that this person was really fickle, so domineering when he was being domineering, and said with a pouting face, “I don’t want you to carry me, and I don’t want you to hold me. You’re so sleepy, I’m afraid you’ll drop me to death.”
“Fuck!” Jiang Cheng asked depressingly, “Am I that weak?”
Ji Shuyi also muttered casually, “It’s not like you’re very strong anyway?”
Jiang Cheng suddenly raised his eyebrows and looked at her, “Want to try it out? Whether I’m weak or strong.”
Ji Shuyi blurted out, “How do you try that?”
Under the night, Jiang Cheng, who was kneeling on one knee, looked at the innocent girl at the moment, and smiled meaningfully, changed his words and said:
“Forget it, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future. By then, even if you’re unconscious, I’ll be fine.”
