Chapter 60: Who Doesn’t Know a Little “Tea Talk”?
Before Ji Shuyi could fully decipher the pretty girl’s gaze, the girl had already put on a generous and enthusiastic smile and walked up to her, even taking the initiative to greet her.
“Hello, my name is Jian Wei.”
The warm and generous smile made Ji Shuyi feel as if she had been overthinking things, and she smiled and politely replied:
“Hello, my name is Ji Shuyi.”
The Jiang Cheng at her side immediately added, “My girlfriend. You should call her ‘Sister-in-Law’.”
“Oh.”
Jian Wei only smiled and responded with a single syllable, but she didn’t actually say “Sister-in-Law.” She immediately changed the subject with a smile, saying, “Let’s go in quickly. Everyone’s waiting.”
Today was the day the club members were having a picnic together.
On the lawn in the backyard.
As Ji Shuyi was led by Jiang Cheng to the lawn in the backyard, she saw from afar a super cool, large-scale Monkey King model holding a golden staff standing on the lawn. The little girl’s eyes lit up with surprise:
“Why is there a Monkey King here? This Monkey King is so cool!”
As she spoke, she let go of Jiang Cheng’s hand and ran towards the super cool Monkey King.
Suddenly abandoned, Jiang Cheng looked dejectedly at his empty palm, then raised his eyes to look at the back of the ungrateful little thing running away.
Jiang Cheng: “…”.
He couldn’t help but feel helpless and had to quickly follow.
Ji Shuyi touched the Monkey King model and looked at Jiang Cheng, who had caught up, curiously asking, “Why is there a Monkey King here?”
Jiang Cheng replied as a matter of course, “It’s prepared for you. Do you like it?”
He didn’t know why she liked this Monkey King thing so much, but he could tell that she was very happy every time she saw the Monkey King. Even last time, she had placed one at the door of her room. It was as if the Monkey King was her spiritual guardian, able to make her happy and put her at ease.
And today, he was bringing her to his place to meet his friends. Apart from him, everything else was unfamiliar to her. Afraid that she would feel uncomfortable, he had someone put a Monkey King here, hoping that she could have fun and feel at ease.
Ji Shuyi’s eyes flickered slightly as she listened. Especially since he looked so natural at the moment, as if it was only natural for him to prepare anything for her. She couldn’t help but smile and reply, “I like it.”
She suddenly remembered that the prizes for the last school wilderness training activity also included the Monkey King, and the sponsor of that activity was the Jiang family.
Suddenly thinking of something, Ji Shuyi looked up at Jiang Cheng and asked tentatively, “So, the prizes for the last school wilderness training activity were also your doing?”
“Yeah.” Jiang Cheng said truthfully under her expectant gaze, “Dad asked me to arrange that activity.”
After listening, Ji Shuyi sighed slightly and said to him, “Jiang Cheng, you have to tell me in the future what you’ve done for me, you know? Otherwise, you’re always secretly doing things for me and not saying anything. What if I think someone else did it and run away with them? You’d be at a disadvantage.”
Hearing the last part, Jiang Cheng’s expression instantly turned cold and he frowned, asking, “What did you say? Say it again.”
Looking at his cold, arrogant gaze, Ji Shuyi instantly realized that she seemed to have stepped on his minefield. She quickly smiled and changed her words, saying, “I said that my boyfriend is getting better and better at being in a relationship. This relationship experience is really good.”
However, Jiang Cheng, disregarding her smiling face, still bent down and looked into her eyes, his voice clear and cold.
“If you dare run away with someone else, I’ll imprison you on an island for the rest of your life, and bury that man under the island.”
The sudden crazy and sinister remark frightened Ji Shuyi. Her heart couldn’t help but skip a beat, and she swallowed. Then, she wrinkled her little face and made a final struggle: “You wouldn’t dare!”
Jiang Cheng suddenly straightened up, looking down at her condescendingly with indifferent eyes, and spat out a sentence, “Then you can try.”
Somewhat intimidated by his gaze, Ji Shuyi paused for a few seconds before suddenly kicking him in the calf, muttering at him in displeasure, “You’re crazy!”
Later, Ji Shuyi realized that he didn’t care how much she teased him. The only thing she couldn’t mention was something like “running away with someone else.” As soon as she mentioned it, she could trigger his hidden crazy attributes.
Just then, Song Yu, who was walking over, smiled and asked Ji Shuyi for her permission:
“Miss Ji, can I borrow your man for a while?”
As if chasing away a plague, Ji Shuyi immediately waved her hand in disgust and said repeatedly, “Hurry up and borrow him, hurry up and borrow him…”
Jiang Cheng: “…”
He really wanted to beat her!
But not only could he not beat her, he also had to tell her, “I’ll be over in a little while. Feel free to order these people around.”
“Got it.”
Ji Shuyi responded indifferently and walked towards Chen Xingyi, who was arranging the food for the barbecue.
When Chen Xingyi saw Ji Shuyi coming over, he directly dumped the work on her, saying, “Little firecracker, come over quickly. This is all yours now.”
Ji Shuyi frowned immediately. “What did you call me?”
“Sister-in-Law.”
Chen Xingyi’s quick wit was exceptional. He immediately smiled and instructed, “Help separate the meat and vegetables, thanks.”
After speaking, he left without waiting for Ji Shuyi to agree.
Ji Shuyi: “…”
Whatever, I’ll just separate them. I’m bored anyway.
However, less than a minute after she stood there and started sorting, the girl named Jian Wei also walked over and stood next to her, smiling politely and generously. “Let’s do it together.”
Ji Shuyi also smiled and replied, “Okay.”
Jian Wei picked up some items and sorted them. She secretly tilted her head to look at Ji Shuyi, and said with a smile, “A’Cheng is really something, how could he bring you here and just leave you to the side, and still be willing to let you do this work.”
Ji Shuyi felt strange hearing this, but she didn’t overthink it. She only said with a faint smile, “It’s nothing. It’s not tiring, just consider it playing.”
“That’s true.” Jian Wei always had a smile on her face, and she suddenly asked, “How long have you been together?”
Ji Shuyi: “Today is exactly the tenth day.”
Hearing this, Jian Wei’s eyes clearly lit up for a moment, and her smile became even more obvious. “Did you pursue him?”
Only then did Ji Shuyi feel that the atmosphere was not right. As expected, she hadn’t been wrong at first glance. The girl in front of her didn’t like her. Not wanting to be outdone, she directly replied nonchalantly:
“No, he pursued me. He pestered me for a long time before I agreed.”
Jian Wei really couldn’t help but chuckle lightly, as if she had heard some ghost story. She gave a perfunctory “Oh” and asked again:
“Are you also from Jing University?”
As she spoke, she deliberately added, “Sorry, A’Cheng has never mentioned you to us, so I don’t know much.”
Ji Shuyi couldn’t help but laugh in her heart. Tea talk, ah. It’s not like I don’t know how.
She directly tilted her head and looked at Jian Wei with a harmless expression, saying:
“Really? But I know Chen Xingyi and Song Yu. Aren’t you the only one who doesn’t know? Don’t worry, I’ll tell Jiang Cheng when he comes. He’s really not valuing you enough as a friend. How could he tell everyone but forget to tell you?”
“You…” Jian Wei didn’t expect the girl in front of her, who looked like a delicate white lotus, to be so eloquent. She tried hard to control her expression, still wearing a smile as she said:
“You’ve only been together for ten days. I don’t think you know him very well. We grew up together in the same compound, along with Xingyi and Song Yu ge (older brother). Our fathers are also sworn brothers. Oh, this club was opened by A’Cheng. He opened it when he was 17, back in England.
Racing is the only thing he likes, besides all external factors. He likes that extreme speed.
Oh right, he broke a racing record a while ago. We also celebrated for him here at the time…”
As she spoke, she suddenly paused and continued, “Sorry, you weren’t around then.”
