Chapter 31: Very Well, You’ve Successfully Angered Me
“Damn it, they’re completely looking down on us! If we don’t beat them until they’re howling, I won’t accept it!”
Despite being utterly exhausted, the Alpha clenched his fists and charged forward fearlessly.
The other freshmen couldn’t just stand by and take it either. Did they think staying silent meant they were fools? They weren’t idiots, nor were they Ninja Turtles. If they were provoked, of course, they would fight back!
The previously weakened Alphas now had eyes blazing with fire.
Unknown strength, but undeniable provocation.
Damn it! If they dared to mock us, I’ll bite them to death if I have to!
The training ground instantly descended into chaos—this time, even more intense than before. The real trouble was these damn freshmen!
They seemed to realize their current weakness, so when they rushed forward, they abandoned all dignity, fighting with sheer desperation!
“Who the hell just grabbed my chest? Disgusting Alpha!”
“Raise your fists! If you want to fight, do it properly! Kicking me down there—have you no shame?!”
“Ugh… I’ll bite you to death… Even if I can’t kill you, I’ll disgust you to death!”
“Senior, keep being cocky! Hahaha!”
The freshmen had abandoned all pretense, fighting brutally.
Specifically, they discovered that scratching the seniors’ faces with their nails made these proud, pretty-boy seniors instinctively flinch—so they went full-on Nine Yin White Bone Claw!
Knowing that Alphas were repulsed by same-sex contact, they bit their opponents’ ears—hard!
Painful and disgusting!
Some even targeted the most fatal weakness of a man, determined to take something down with them even if they died!
Jiang Laili entered, stunned by the scene before him, before sighing in amazement—
What a spectacle of the Wei and Jin dynasties!
The scene was utterly chaotic.
This first combat training session had formed an unshakable grudge between both sides.
The senior students were fuming, their faces dark with rage!
Who the hell taught these Alphas to fight like this? Despicable, shameless, barbaric!
Though they didn’t necessarily lose, they were still thoroughly disgusted. Winning didn’t feel satisfying—it just left them seething.
Eugene, his face marked with a few scratches, glared back with provoked fury, sneering, “Pathetic little freshmen, that’s enough. Your little circus act was certainly amusing—way more entertaining than those little Omegas.”
The defeated freshmen panted heavily, their eyes filled with defiance.
The seniors, now facing them, bore various injuries on their faces and bodies, their previously arrogant demeanor slightly altered. The fact that these freshmen had managed to land any marks on them at all was an utter disgrace.
“How could we compare to the marks on you, senior?”
Lei Po wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and sneered, “You look way better than those little Omegas.”
With a mocking whistle, his rogue-like attitude was especially insulting when directed at an Alpha.
A true troublemaker, stabbing right where it hurt, making Eugene’s expression darken in anger before he let out a cold, furious laugh. “So you’re this year’s top student? And yet, I’ve so easily crushed you beneath my feet.”
He then glanced toward another Alpha, standing with his jaw bruised, his usual dignified aura now diminished. “I thought beating Admiral Zhai’s grandson meant you had some real skill.”
Eugene scoffed disdainfully, “But you’re all just trash. The tallest clown in a group of dwarves.”
Zhai Yifei’s expression darkened instantly, a thin layer of anger spreading across his face as he coldly chuckled, “Senior Eugene, is it?”
Eugene’s gaze was indifferent. “Freshman, I am your acting instructor now.”
“Eugene, teaching these trash is such a waste. I’d rather patrol and catch a couple of rogue Alphas.”
Another Alpha beside him echoed his disdain, “Agreed. Honestly, I think Instructor Aige should cancel this assignment. Next time, just let them out in the wild to bite people and scratch faces—imagine how hard the Empire would laugh at us!”
“Pfft, yeah, what a disgrace to Alphas.”
The freshmen’s faces turned red with fury, wanting nothing more than to kill these bastards.
Lei Po and Zhai Yifei both wore dark expressions. Just as Zhai Yifei was about to speak, a voice came from behind them—
“Who knows if the Empire would laugh at us—but seniors, you all look about ready to die of anger first.”
Zhai Yifei turned back and saw a young man with soft chestnut curls standing at the far end, his brows slightly raised. A faint scar crossed above his brow, giving his usually warm Alpha demeanor a sharp edge.
Jiang Laili’s smile carried a new, cutting sharpness. “Senior Eugene, I’ve heard of you. There are quite a few combat videos of you on the forums.”
Eugene curled his lips in a half-hearted smirk, barely sparing him a glance. “Oh? Never paid attention.”
His arrogant demeanor was infuriating.
But Jiang Laili remained unfazed, smiling even wider. “Oh? What a shame.”
He sighed lightly, his bright eyes filled with regret. “Senior Shen Yu’s beatdown of you was so impressive. Just a few moves and—snap—your arm broke, your leg twisted, and you were left crawling on the ground, screaming in agony. Your face was contorted with pain, and yet, you still stubbornly tried to fight back. Such admirable fighting spirit!”
Fighting spirit, my ass!
So this was the video he watched?!
The freshmen collectively thought, Holy shit, that was satisfying.
Especially seeing that arrogant bastard Eugene’s face turn dark. Acting all high and mighty, huh? But didn’t he still get his ass handed to him?
Eugene was so furious he could kill Jiang Laili on the spot. Every generation of proud Alphas had their own mountain pressing down on them.
For Eugene, that mountain was Shen Yu—an opponent he could never surpass.
Never in his life had he imagined that some brat would dig up his biggest humiliation at a time like this. Eugene’s rage boiled over as he gritted his teeth and sneered, “Brat, you want to experience it for yourself?”
Eugene’s eyes flashed with anger, his voice icy. “Very well, you’ve successfully angered me.”
Yes, he had lost to Shen Yu. But did that mean he would lose to a mere freshman?
“Huh?” Jiang Laili’s face showed surprise. “Senior, why do you look like you’re about to explode from anger again?”
“If you go to war like this and the Empire’s Alphas say a few words, are you just going to bite them to death?”
Jiang Laili spoke sincerely, “That won’t do. That’d be way too embarrassing.”
“And besides, you don’t seem like you’d be very good at biting people, senior. No killing power at all—doesn’t seem very effective.”
“Shut up, you damn brat!”
Eugene’s eyes burned with fury as he finally lost control and moved to attack.
The Alphas beside him quickly held him back. They were here as instructors, not actual teachers, and the earlier brawl was just meant to establish dominance over the freshmen.
Getting provoked into attacking would just make him look bad.
The other acting instructors, equally arrogant, didn’t want to see Eugene lose his composure.
The freshmen glared at Eugene and his group like a pack of exhausted yet defiant young leopards, ready to strike back at any moment.
Lei Po and Zhai Yifei stepped forward, standing beside Jiang Laili with cold, unwavering expressions.
Jiang Laili smiled, sensing his companions’ support.
He patted both their shoulders, signaling them to relax.
“Senior, I’m sorry. I don’t know what I said that made you so angry you wanted to bite me,” Jiang Laili said sincerely. “But I really did watch your combat videos with the intent to learn.”
