After giving instructions for everything, Su Yu went to find Wang Jinhe and informed her about their return.
Xiao Bao and Xiao Zhi were playing by Wang Jinhe’s side. “Xiao Bao, are you happy that we’re going back?”
“Happy! Is little imperial brother and sister Chang Le coming with us?” Xiao Bao asked eagerly, looking straight at Su Yu.
Su Yu smiled and nodded, “Yes.”
Although the Xie family was no more, and Hong Yi was now completely safe, as a crown prince, Hong Yi had to act the part. Su Yu still had things to teach him.
“That’s great. It wouldn’t be as fun without Hong Yi.” Xiao Bao wouldn’t have as much fun if Hong Yi wasn’t around.
Like father, like son. Watching Xiao Bao, how could Su Yu not understand his meaning?
He reached out and ruffled his little head. Su Yu said unkindly, “Don’t always think about bullying Hong Yi.”
“Daddy, Grandpa said I’m following your example. When you were little, you did the same thing a lot.” Xiao Bao retorted unreservedly.
Even at this moment, Su Yu couldn’t help but sigh, “You don’t have to be exactly like me in everything.”
“Daddy, I actually think it’s good. This way, everyone will definitely know we’re father and son.” Xiao Bao said, looking at Su Yu triumphantly.
Su Yu looked at Xiao Bao, feeling both amused and helpless. He didn’t know whether to remind Xiao Bao that with their distinctive faces, others wouldn’t likely mistake them.
After they finished speaking, Wang Jinhe finally spoke, “Didn’t you say there were things to be done for Uncle before? Now that you’re leaving, what about Uncle’s matters?”
“Xiao Zhi, take your brother and pack your things.” Su Yu didn’t answer Wang Jinhe directly but instructed the two children to pack their belongings.
“Okay.”
After the two children left, Su Yu frowned and said, “Li Yan has been silenced, and all the clues are cut off.”
“Do you have a suspect in mind?”
“The person who went after them said that the figure didn’t seem to be from Xuan Empire. She must have known something important that was why they killed her.” Su Yu explained briefly to Wang Jinhe.
The more Wang Jinhe heard, the more grim her expression became.
“Are you suspecting Qi Ming?”
“Yeah, if it were someone else, I would just handle it, but if it’s Qi Ming, I find it a bit hard to accept. Qi Ming probably knows about this, which is why he took action.” Thinking that hiding his identity would work, it was truly laughable.
Wang Jinhe remained silent, just watching Su Yu. On the surface, he seemed indifferent to these matters, but upon closer inspection, one could see a hint of self-mockery and helplessness in Su Yu’s eyes.
“In the future, we might encounter Qi Ming. Are you afraid?” Su Yu lowered his head and softly asked Wang Jinhe.
Wang Jinhe paused for a moment, then said, “Not afraid. So what if his status is noble? We are also the Prince and Princess. Who should be afraid of whom?”
Wang Jinhe’s straightforward words amused Su Yu, but he couldn’t help but acknowledge their truth.
Although Qi Ming had a noble status, did it make him stronger than Xiao Jinhe?
Wang Jinhe looked straight at Su Yu, as if saying, “I have a question to ask.”
“If you have something to ask, just say it directly. Why look at me like that?” Su Yu said.
“Considering Qi Ming’s feelings toward you, if he knows that you are now the Prince of Xuan Empire, do you think he will come directly to you? And then question you about this matter?” Wang Jinhe asked curiously.
Su Yu hadn’t thought about this question, but after Wang Jinhe brought it up, he couldn’t help but recall the past.
At that time, when Qi Ming asked him for help and he refused, Qi Ming’s expression was quite unpleasant. At the time, Su Yu thought it was just unhappiness due to being rejected.
Now it seemed that Qi Ming might have been angry because he expected Su Yu to help his elder brother?
“If Qi Ming finds out, he might really come directly.” Su Yu rubbed his chin, suddenly looking forward to meeting Qi Ming. However, he didn’t know when Qi Ming would appear before him.
Seeing Su Yu looking expectant, Wang Jinhe rolled her eyes in an unsightly manner and said sarcastically, “Are you actually looking forward to it?”
“Of course, some things need to be resolved with him, such as cutting ties and parting ways after just meeting.” Su Yu raised an eyebrow.
Wang Jinhe, not pleased, interjected, “He’s not just someone you casually meet; he’s an enemy.”
“No worries, it’s all the same.”
Wang Jinhe chuckled sarcastically. This guy seemed to be asking for a beating.
“Xiao he, I’m telling you the truth, Qi Ming has issues.” Su Yu pointed to his own head and spoke.
“He’s extremely extreme. If he can’t have something, he won’t let others have it either, whether it’s a person or a thing. If he can’t get it, he’d rather destroy it than let others have it.”
Thinking that he had trusted the other party so much in his previous life, Su Yu was absolutely convinced that his brain must have been malfunctioning.
“Xiao He, my heart is bitter.” Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe and said.
“I think you deserve it.” Wang Jinhe said unkindly.
Although she said that, she couldn’t bear to see Su Yu suffer. She sat quietly beside him, keeping him company.
Su Yu looked at Wang Jinhe in silence. Why was it so different from what he had in mind?
Just sitting quietly by his side, couldn’t she do more?
When Su Yu was about to speak, Wang Jinhe suddenly asked, “Su Yu, tell me about your past.”
“What do you want to hear about?”
“Your acquaintance with Qi Ming.” Wang Jinhe was very interested in this.
This girl was really touching a nerve.
“I met Qi Ming in a business deal.” Su Yu didn’t want to talk about it, but since Wang Jinhe had asked, he naturally had to tell her these things.
Since they met in business, his thoughts and way of doing things were very similar to Qi Ming’s. The only difference was that he wasn’t as obsessive as Qi Ming, destroying everything he couldn’t have.
After that, they had been in contact for a long time, and he had developed a strong liking for this person much older than him. They would often gather when they had nothing to do.
This lifestyle continued until Qi Ming asked him for help, and he refused.
After that, Qi Ming started to be indifferent to everything he said. Sometimes, the way Qi Ming looked at him seemed like he was looking at prey, but he didn’t notice it at the time.
Now it seemed that some people’s personalities wouldn’t change fundamentally.
“If he knows you have a wife and children, will he be directly angered to death?” Wang Jinhe couldn’t help but quip.
“Why would he care about that? I will marry and have children sooner or later. What’s there for him to be angry about? He can’t get married, so he doesn’t want others to either?” Su Yu spoke confidently.
If Qi Ming dared to harm his family and children, he would do everything in his power to seek revenge.
“I was just joking. Don’t take it so seriously.” Although Su Yu felt it was unlikely, she had a feeling that he might get scolded in the days to come.
“I’m not taking it seriously. Let’s get ready quickly. After that, I’ll go talk to my elder brother about Hongyi and Chang Le.”
