Chapter 17: He Wants This Little Beauty
“This guy is such a wimp, a good-for-nothing!” Wu Xiuxiu thought to herself, rolling her eyes in disdain. “Just because I stepped on his foot, he’s screaming for help!”
Despite her inner contempt, Wu Xiuxiu maintained a terrified expression, pretending to be utterly panicked.
“I-I’m sorry… I-I’m so scared, I don’t even know where my foot is… Waaah… What should I do… What should I do… I’m sorry! Waaah…”
Wu Xiuxiu feigned tears, her voice choked with sobs, a picture of helpless innocence. Luo Yong, completely taken in, couldn’t believe she was acting, that she was doing this on purpose. He found her utterly captivating, even heartbreaking.
Even though she’d been stepping on his foot, threatening to crush his toes, he couldn’t bring himself to be angry with her.
“It’s okay, don’t worry, don’t be afraid, I’ll figure something out. Leave it to me.” Luo Yong, gritting his teeth against the pain, tried to comfort Wu Xiuxiu. Then he turned to his flunkies behind him,
“You bunch of good-for-nothing idiots, what are you standing there for? Why don’t you hurry up and help the little beauty move her foot? Can’t you see she’s so scared she can’t move, and you’re making me go crazy with pain!”
Like everyone else in the Wu family and the surrounding onlookers, Luo Yong’s flunkies were stunned. They finally snapped out of it and rushed to apologize to Luo Yong, while simultaneously approaching Wu Xiuxiu to pull her foot away.
Wu Xiuxiu immediately moved her foot. She wasn’t going to let these strange men touch her.
“My poor foot, finally saved!” Luo Yong clutched his injured foot, acting as if he’d just escaped a near-death experience, exaggerating his reaction, making Wu Xiuxiu roll her eyes internally and unleash a barrage of mental criticism.
“Brother Yong, is your foot badly hurt? Should we take you to the infirmary?” One of Luo Yong’s flunkies asked. Before Luo Yong could answer, he glared fiercely at Wu Xiuxiu.
“You little brat, you dared to hurt our Brother Yong! You’re dead!” He pointed at Wu Xiuxiu and yelled.
“Don’t hurt my sister! I’ll deal with you!” Wu Zhipeng finally came to his senses and quickly pulled Wu Xiuxiu behind him, protecting her.
Wu Xiuxiu was touched, but she stepped out from behind Wu Zhipeng, standing in front of him, blocking him from Luo Yong. “I accidentally stepped on your foot, it has nothing to do with my brother. If you want revenge, come after me.”
She was taking responsibility for her own actions, refusing to drag her brother into it.
“Little beauty, what are you saying? Why would I seek revenge on you? It wasn’t intentional, you already apologized. Don’t mind this dog, just let him bark!”
Luo Yong quickly shook his head, laughing as he said this. He then reached out and forcefully slapped the flunky who had been concerned about him and had threatened Wu Xiuxiu.
“You little punk, how dare you talk to the little beauty like that, scare her! Can’t you see she’s timid? You’ll be responsible if you scare her!”
Seeing this, the Wu family breathed a sigh of relief, including Wu Xiuxiu.
Ding Hongjuan quickly winked at her daughter-in-law, and the two of them swiftly packed up the uneaten food on the table.
Then Ding Hongjuan said to her daughter and son, “Xiuxiu, Zhipeng, we’ve finished eating, let’s go.”
Wu Xiuxiu and Wu Zhipeng understood immediately and nodded together. They quickly left with Ding Hongjuan and Dong Xiaoye.
“Little beauty, wait… Oh my God! My foot… It really hurts! Help!”
Seeing Wu Xiuxiu leave, Luo Yong panicked. He wanted to chase after her immediately, forgetting about his injured foot. As soon as he moved, the pain shot through him, making him cry out. He clutched his foot and wailed.
“Brother Yong, it seems your foot is really badly injured, you need to go to the infirmary. We’ll take you there!” One of Luo Yong’s flunkies shouted.
The other flunkies immediately responded, ready to lift Luo Yong and take him to the infirmary.
But Luo Yong couldn’t let go of Wu Xiuxiu. Even though she was already out of the cafeteria with her family, he couldn’t even see her shadow anymore, he was still thinking about her, wanting to chase after her.
“But the little beauty…”
“Brother Yong, don’t worry, she won’t get away. Isn’t she Wu Zhipeng’s sister? Doesn’t Wu Zhipeng work here at the factory?” One of Luo Yong’s flunkies said.
“Yeah, after you get your foot treated, just go find Wu Zhipeng. As long as you have Wu Zhipeng, finding his sister will be a piece of cake.” Another flunky agreed.
“Makes sense!” Luo Yong nodded, looking at the cafeteria door, thinking about the graceful figure that had just left, a look of intense lust and depravity flashing in his eyes.
He wanted this little beauty!
Wu Xiuxiu didn’t know she had been targeted by a wolf, and followed her family as they ran.
It wasn’t until they ran out of the fertilizer factory that Wu Zhipeng, who had been running with all his family members, stopped and breathed a sigh of relief.
“We should be safe here!” Wu Zhipeng turned his head and looked at the gate. Thankfully, Luo Yong and his group hadn’t chased after them.
“That was so scary just now. Thank goodness we escaped safely.”
Ding Hongjuan patted her chest, still shaken, and also looked at the gate. Seeing that Luo Yong wasn’t there, she let out a big sigh of relief.
“It’s a good thing those thugs didn’t chase after us, otherwise, it would have been terrible!”
“That’s right! Those thugs are really scary… Speaking of which, Xiuxiu, are you okay? I saw you were quite scared earlier!”
Dong Xiaoye nodded in agreement, also patted her chest, then looked at her sister-in-law, showing concern with worry flashing in her eyes.
Hearing Dong Xiaoye’s words, Wu Zhipeng and Ding Hongjuan immediately turned to look at Wu Xiuxiu, both showing worried expressions. They spoke in unison, “Xiuxiu, are you still scared? Don’t be afraid…”
“I’m not afraid, I’m fine, don’t worry.” Wu Xiuxiu interrupted her mother and brother, waving her hand with a smile, “I was just pretending. I’m not that cowardly!”
“Ah?!” Ding Hongjuan, Wu Zhipeng, and Dong Xiaoye all looked at each other in astonishment.
Seeing Wu Xiuxiu nod, Ding Hongjuan, Wu Zhipeng, and Dong Xiaoye, a couple who weren’t stupid, understood the situation after a moment’s thought. They all showed surprised expressions.
“So you deliberately stepped on Luo Yong!” The three of them exclaimed in unison.
“I just wanted to teach him a lesson, but I was afraid of causing trouble for my brother and implicating him, so…” Wu Xiuxiu smiled slightly.
“You little girl, your acting was too real! I didn’t even realize you were acting. I really thought you were scared, and even scared badly.” Ding Hongjuan sighed.
“Your acting is so good, Xiuxiu! You have a talent for acting!” Dong Xiaoye laughed.
Wu Zhipeng, on the other hand, looked curious and asked, “Xiuxiu, when did you become so smart and quick-witted?”
His sister wasn’t this smart and quick-witted, nor this “bad,” and she wasn’t bold either.
His sister had always been a little timid, but just now, she even dared to stand in front of him, protecting him and saying, “It has nothing to do with my brother, if you want revenge, come find me.”
At that time, he had been a little strange because his sister wasn’t scared to death, she was about to cry, how could she suddenly become so brave and bold.
“I’ve always been smart and quick-witted, okay!” Wu Xiuxiu didn’t know how to answer, so she deliberately snorted.
Her playful and cute expression made the Wu family burst into laughter.
“Originally, I was going to take you to the cafeteria today to let you have a good meal to celebrate your recovery from the hospital, but who would have thought we would encounter Luo Yong, that stinky thug.” Wu Zhipeng laughed for a while, then suddenly sighed, his brows filled with gloom.
“Speaking of Luo Yong, thankfully he didn’t blame Xiuxiu. He shouldn’t hold a grudge against you and go looking for trouble. You should avoid him in the future.”
Ding Hongjuan also sighed, a hint of relief on her face, and she instructed her son.
Hearing her mother-in-law’s words, Dong Xiaoye also worried about her husband and quickly nodded in agreement, “Yes! Zhipeng, you should stay far away from Luo Yong in the future.”
Wu Xiuxiu nodded along, a hint of guilt on her face, “Brother, I’m sorry, I caused you trouble…”
“It’s not your fault! How could it be your fault, you didn’t do anything wrong, it’s all Luo Yong’s fault. Don’t feel guilty, don’t blame yourself!” Luo Yong quickly shook his head, interrupting his sister, and comforted her.
What a good brother!
“Don’t worry about me, like Mom said earlier, thankfully he didn’t blame Xiuxiu, he shouldn’t hold a grudge against me and go looking for trouble.
I’ll just stay far away from him in the future, it’ll be fine.” Wu Zhipeng smiled at the three women.
