Chapter 10: Don’t Leave Me
After putting on his coat and draping one of his large jackets over Lin Qingyou, Yin Hanyu finally went to open the door.
As soon as the door opened, he saw Ming Yu standing outside.
It was her?
Lin Qingyou was both surprised and unsurprised. Yet, at that moment, a wave of jealousy surged within her.
There was no other reason—Yin Hanyu was notoriously indifferent to women.
He had very few friends, and even fewer female friends—almost none.
But not completely none.
Because there was Ming Yu.
In her past life, Lin Qingyou had desperately tried to escape Yin Hanyu’s entanglement and had mistakenly believed that Ming Yu liked him.
She had even tried to set them up.
It had angered Yin Hanyu so much that he almost forced himself on her.
And now… she was suffering the consequences.
Regret and frustration filled Lin Qingyou’s heart.
Seeing that it was Ming Yu, Yin Hanyu wasn’t surprised. Without hesitation, he invited her into his study.
Lin Qingyou’s eyes widened instantly.
What was going on?
Right in front of her, Yin Hanyu completely ignored her and brought another beautiful woman into his private study?
Fuming, Lin Qingyou crouched down sneakily by the door, preparing to eavesdrop.
Just as she pressed her ear to the door, it suddenly swung open from the inside.
Caught off guard, she stumbled into the study like a rolling ball.
Yin Hanyu stared at her, dumbfounded.
Ming Yu smirked, amused.
Lin Qingyou, mortified beyond words, wished she could dig a hole and disappear.
“Uh… uh… um…” Lin Qingyou scratched her head awkwardly. “You guys go on. I was just… exercising.”
Yin Hanyu suppressed his laughter and helped her up, pointing to another room. “The gym is over there, not here.”
Lin Qingyou’s embarrassment deepened.
She patted her backside and shot Yin Hanyu a fierce glare, as if silently telling him: If you see through something, just pretend you don’t.
But Yin Hanyu, completely oblivious to her signals, dealt the final blow:
“Go back to bed. We’ll be talking late into the night.”
With that, he shut the study door.
Lin Qingyou was so enraged she wanted to kick the door down.
But in the end, she held back.
Karma. This is all karma.
Yin Hanyu wasn’t lying when he said they’d talk for a long time—it really lasted for hours.
At first, Lin Qingyou pressed her ear against the study door, then the wall, searching for a spot where the soundproofing was weak.
Eventually, she found a place where she could faintly make out their conversation.
She had been anxious when she couldn’t hear anything.
But once she did—her heart sank.
By the time Ming Yu left, it was already late at night.
After days of business trips and now staying up late, Yin Hanyu stretched tiredly.
But when he entered his bedroom, he was stunned.
Lin Qingyou had taken out his entire liquor collection and, not only that, was now sprawled out on the floor, completely drunk.
Bottles were scattered around her, some tipped over, spilling wine onto her white nightgown.
She looked both beautiful and utterly desolate.
Yet, the scene was haunting.
Yin Hanyu bent down and gently picked up the drunken girl.
“Lin Qingyou… I must’ve owed you in my past life…”
“No… You don’t owe me… I owe you…”
“Yin Hanyu, I owe you… I’m sorry…”
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry…”
Tears slid down Lin Qingyou’s cheeks, falling onto the back of Yin Hanyu’s hand.
It burned.
“Why are you suddenly apologizing?”
But Lin Qingyou, utterly intoxicated, didn’t answer. Instead, she clung tightly to Yin Hanyu, mumbling in pain.
“Yin Hanyu, I was wrong…”
“Please don’t leave me…”
“Don’t leave me…”
Yin Hanyu looked at the girl in his arms, his heart aching.
“I never left you.”
It was always you who left me. When did I ever leave?
Yin Hanyu had originally planned to bathe her before putting her to bed, but after a moment’s hesitation, he simply changed her into clean sleepwear.
After gently laying her on the bed, he turned to clean up the scattered bottles.
But before he could move, Lin Qingyou suddenly hugged him tightly from behind.
“Don’t go…”
Her sobs grew louder, her entire body trembling as if trapped in a nightmare.
Yin Hanyu had no choice but to turn around and hold her, soothing her gently.
“What’s wrong? Do you feel unwell?”
“It hurts…”
“It hurts?” Yin Hanyu instantly became alert, checking her body for injuries, but found nothing.
“It hurts… so much…”
“Where does it hurt? Qingyou, tell me.”
“Everywhere…”
Lin Qingyou suddenly grabbed Yin Hanyu’s hand and pressed it to her heart.
“Here… It hurts the most…”
“Fire… such a big fire…”
“And an explosion…”
“Ahhh… such a big fire… it hurts, it hurts so much…”
“No… no… Yin Hanyu, don’t come over… don’t come over…”
“Why did you come?!”
“Leave! Hurry and leave!”
“I told you to leave!”
Lin Qingyou sobbed and screamed, her face streaked with tears, her body curling up in pain.
“No… no… no…”
“Yin Hanyu, you fool… why are you so stupid?”
“Ah… it hurts… it hurts so much…”
“Yin Hanyu, I was wrong. I really know I was wrong… please don’t leave me…”
“Qingyou… Qingyou… what’s wrong? What’s happening to you?”
Yin Hanyu held her tightly, preventing her from hurting herself in her distress.
“Qingyou, don’t be afraid… don’t be afraid… I’m here, I’m here…”
“I never left you… I will never leave you…”
“How could I ever leave you?”
He repeated these words over and over again as he held her.
For a long, long time.
Until her emotions finally calmed down.
Yet, even then, she never let go of him.
No matter how strong Yin Hanyu was, he couldn’t pry her fingers apart.
Helpless, he had to remain in that awkward, uncomfortable position for hours.
When Lin Qingyou finally woke up, Yin Hanyu let out a sigh of relief.
“You… why are you here?”
Clearly, Lin Qingyou hadn’t fully regained her senses yet.
Yin Hanyu: “Let go of me first, and I’ll answer. If you don’t, my arm and waist might actually break.”
Only then did Lin Qingyou realize—she had been clinging to him the entire time.
And Yin Hanyu had been sitting awkwardly on the bed, unable to move.
As soon as she let go, he tried to stretch, but his body was so stiff he couldn’t move.
“What’s wrong?” she asked innocently.
Yin Hanyu: “What do you think?”
Lin Qingyou: “…”
If she said she didn’t know, would he be furious?
“Lin Qingyou, you really are the disaster of my fate.”
“…”
Lin Qingyou quickly, yet awkwardly, started massaging him. “Don’t be mad! I’ll give you a massage.”
Yin Hanyu suddenly looked at her, his expression serious.
“Do you often have nightmares?”
Lin Qingyou’s hands froze mid-movement.
