While the police chief was still puzzled, he followed Yin Hanyu’s gaze and looked over.
What he saw was Lin Qingyou still beating up the man. She landed an uppercut on his chin, making his jaw instantly shift out of place.
“You won’t talk? Then don’t ever talk again…”
Just as the police chief was about to speak—
The next second, Lin Qingyou suddenly burst into tears.
“Waaahhh… Officer, why did you take so long to get here? I was almost beaten to death…”
All the police officers widened their eyes in disbelief.
Then, they started doubting reality.
What the hell???
Were they blind or what?
Wasn’t she the one almost beating that guy to death?
How did she turn the tables like this?
One particularly straightforward officer, Officer B, couldn’t hold back: “Miss, do you know what you’re saying? You’re the one who was—”
Smack!
The police chief instantly smacked the back of Officer B’s head.
Officer B rubbed his head. “Chief, why did you hit me again?”
Police Chief: “Because you don’t listen.”
Officer B: “How am I not listening? You always tell me not to slack off and to be the first to take action. Today, I followed your teachings and was the first one to rush in! Ask the guys if you don’t believe me!”
The other officers: “…”
Don’t ask them, they know nothing.
After all, this guy was notorious for rotating the lazy susan whenever the boss was reaching for food.
The police chief’s mouth twitched. He smacked Officer B’s head again. “Then did I tell you to temporarily shut up? Did you listen?”
Officer B: “…”
“But…”
“But what?”
“But she…” Officer B pointed at Lin Qingyou, looking aggrieved. “She was the one who beat people up!”
Lin Qingyou immediately cried louder. “Waaahhh… Officer, I’m so scared! You have to stand up for me!”
“…”
“You—” Officer B was full of question marks. Did she look scared?
“Stand up for you? You almost beat that guy to death.”
“Put your hands out. I’m taking you to the station.” Officer B pulled out his handcuffs, ready to arrest her.
Yin Hanyu’s eyes darkened instantly.
Sensing danger, the police chief quickly grabbed Officer B.
This idiot—did he have a death wish?
“Arrest me?” Lin Qingyou blinked innocently. “Why are you arresting me? I’m just a weak woman who was bullied by so many men, and now you’re arresting me? Is there no justice in this world?”
“…”
Weak woman???
Are you sure???
The police officers’ mouths twitched as they glanced at the burly men lying on the ground, beaten black and blue, some even clutching their… uh, sensitive areas.
Dear heavens, who exactly is the weak one here?
“Waaahhh… Husband, I’m scared… Take me home!” Lin Qingyou suddenly threw herself into Yin Hanyu’s arms, taking the chance to cop a feel of his abs.
Yin Hanyu’s eyebrow twitched hard.
Husband?
Everyone turned to stare at Yin Hanyu in shock.
Wasn’t the “Crown Prince” famous for avoiding women?
When did he secretly get married?!
This girl—was she crazy?
Who just randomly claims someone as their husband?
She must be trying to latch onto Yin Hanyu’s powerful status so she wouldn’t get arrested, right?
But the next second—
They saw the legendary, high-and-mighty, untouchable bachelor gently patting the girl’s head.
“Don’t be afraid… You’re the victim here. The officers are fair and wise, they’ll surely stand up for you, right?”
“Really?” Lin Qingyou looked up at him with teary eyes.
Yin Hanyu nodded. “Of course. When has your husband ever lied to you?”
Husband?
Again???
And this time, it was the “Crown Prince” himself saying it?!
So… this girl wasn’t crazy.
She was the real deal—the Crown Princess!!!
“Hehe, hubby, you’re the best.” Lin Qingyou snuggled into Yin Hanyu’s arms, looking all weak and pitiful. “But I’m still scared…”
Yin Hanyu played along perfectly. “Don’t be. The officers are here. The bad guys will be punished.”
“But… but…” Lin Qingyou sobbed, her gaze slowly shifting toward the officers.
Assistant Xu, watching from the side, gave them a thumbs up.
Amazing.
Truly a perfect match.
No script, pure improvisation, yet they were completely in sync.
What a pair of “drama king and queen”!!!
“But what?” Yin Hanyu’s sharp eyes landed on the police chief.
The police chief immediately caught on. “Miss, you poor, weak, and beautiful lady, I apologize for your suffering. Don’t worry, we won’t arrest you. You’re the victim here, and we will ensure justice is served!”
“Thank you, Chief!” Lin Qingyou happily dragged Yin Hanyu away.
He was still injured—she needed to treat his wounds.
Seeing them walk off so casually, Officer B tried to chase after them. “Chief, how can you let them go just like that?! Especially that woman—she beat up so many people!”
Hearing that, Lin Qingyou stopped and turned around. “Little officer, you said something wrong just now.”
Officer B frowned. “What did I say wrong?”
Lin Qingyou smiled. “You said I beat people up. That’s incorrect.”
“How is that wrong?” Officer B pointed at the injured men on the ground. “Aren’t they people?”
“Bingo! Congratulations, you got it right.” Lin Qingyou smirked. “I wasn’t beating up people.”
“Then what were you beating up?” Officer B reflexively asked.
Lin Qingyou: “Trash.”
Officer B: “…”
Later, after a thorough investigation, they realized—
Lin Qingyou hadn’t been lying.
Those guys really were trash—society’s scum.
Perfectly healthy yet refusing to work, lurking in alleys and subways to steal and rob.
Some had even been arrested multiple times for harassing women.
Each of them had a criminal record a mile long.
But this time, they weren’t getting out.
…
Lin Qingyou grabbed a first-aid kit, preparing to treat Yin Hanyu’s wounds.
Yin Hanyu stood up. “I’m going to take a shower first.”
“But your injury is on the back of your head. If you shower—”
“If I shower, what?” Yin Hanyu smirked. “Water will get in my brain?”
“…” Lin Qingyou twitched. “Hey, you said it, not me.”
Yin Hanyu flicked her forehead. “I was implying you.”
“You—” Lin Qingyou glared at him. “Why do you always say that about me? Sure, maybe my brain had water before, but I already drained it out!”
Yin Hanyu: “…”
Suddenly, his expression turned serious.
“Lin Qingyou, what happened today—this is the first and last time.”
Being protected by her felt nice.
But if it meant she might get hurt…
Then he’d rather not have it.
