Chapter 33: Cooperation
“…Oh, right.” Meng Zhang started to petrify.
He was only worried about whether Master Brother would be angry, and he forgot about Second Senior Brother.
Song Heng was knocked out by him.
He knew everything.
The girl patted Meng Zhang on the shoulder, “That’s it, you can tell them that I knocked Song Heng out. If anyone asks, I’ll admit it, but before that, remember to think it through, my dear.”
Whether Meng Zhang admitted his mistake or not, he would be found out, and the end result would be a beating. If he didn’t admit it, his crime would be compounded, and he would probably be beaten even worse.
The boy understood now, his face slumped, “Then… you don’t have to take the blame for me, can you return the spirit stones?”
Li Yang smiled, “I’ve already made a Heavenly Oath, it’s impossible to return the goods.”
She also lost a Xuan sword to save Song Heng.
These spirit stones and spirit herbs were what she deserved.
Meng Zhang was already a bit dark-skinned, now he was radiating despair, starting to question life.
Li Yang took this time to look around. They were in a ruined land, surrounded by dozens of large and small mountains connected together, lush and green, with abundant spiritual energy, vast and boundless.
Li Yang touched her chin, figuring something out, “It was probably a problem with the teleportation, the original teams were all scattered, others should be in the same situation as us, fighting alone.”
Meng Zhang raised his head in a daze, “Then what should we do?”
“What else can we do? When disaster strikes, everyone flees for themselves.”
She wasn’t interested in the people of the Danwang Sect.
But Meng Zhang had an air of pitiful naivetĂ©, and she had just made a killing, so Li Yang didn’t intend to be too ruthless and take his token to kick him out. She thought for a moment, “Let’s separate here, you find your Danwang Sect, I’ll find my Yufeng Sect.”
“Huh?” Meng Zhang: “What about me if you leave?”
A Dan cultivator alone and helpless in the secret realm, unable to fight anyone, what should he do?
Li Yang reasoned with him, “But I just agreed to take the blame for you, I didn’t agree to protect you.”
“And I’m just a weak Foundation Establishment cultivator, I can’t protect you.”
“.He fell silent.
It was true, a Foundation Establishment cultivator in the mysterious Rebirth Secret Realm obviously didn’t have much of an advantage over him.
Li Yang patted Meng Zhang on the shoulder, “That’s it, our paths diverge, farewell.”
After observing for a while, the girl slowly headed towards the northern mountain.
By the time she reached the foot of the mountain, it was already dark.
There was a sea of flowers at the foot of the mountain, with some common spirit herbs growing beside it.
She half-squatted down to pick them.
She glanced back casually and saw Meng Zhang sneaking around behind a rock.
The little black chubby boy was trying very hard to hide himself.
He was curled up into a ball behind the rock, but he still stuck out a bit, perfectly caught.
Li Yang was silent for a moment, she gave a friendly reminder, “Bro, your butt is showing.”
The butt behind the rock tried hard to push itself further in, successfully going in.
However, as the butt went in, the head came out.
Li Yang couldn’t help but laugh, she ignored him and slowly picked up the spirit herbs.
In the end, Meng Zhang raised his head from behind the rock and tremblingly said, “Can you leave some for me?”
She raised an eyebrow, said nothing, silently left one behind, and found a place to rest.
Meng Zhang poked his head out from behind the rock, happily picking up the leftovers.
After picking them, he thoughtfully handed half to Li Yang, “Let’s cooperate. I’ll share three layers of what I pick with you, and you keep what you pick. When I find my senior brother or teammates, I won’t bother you anymore.”
Before this, Meng Zhang had observed the surroundings.
The Rebirth Secret Realm was terrifyingly large, and he hadn’t seen a single person for so long, only Li Yang.
The girl’s cultivation was lower, but she was at least a sword cultivator, which was better than nothing.
He didn’t want to leave. This was the secret realm he had seen clearly thanks to his Second Senior Brother’s sacrifice. There were more spirit herbs here than in the Medicine Stone Secret Realm, and it was worthwhile to gather more.
Meng Zhang’s terms were already very reasonable, and Li Yang had no reason to refuse.
She hadn’t seen anyone else anyway.
She leaned back, considering it for a moment, and high-fived him, “Deal.”
A team of two was better than one, at least it wasn’t lonely.
Meng Zhang asked, “Where should we go now?”
Based on the current situation, only three of them had fallen here, and one had already made a glorious sacrifice, leaving only the two of them.
Li Yang picked up a stick, squatted down, and drew a rough map on the ground.
They had all seen the general appearance of the Rebirth Secret Realm from outside the City Lord’s Mansion, although it was only for less than a second, Li Yang had already memorized it. She silently drew it on the ground, pointing to the bottom right corner, “We’re probably here. Let’s head towards the center, the central mountain range has more mountains, and more opportunities, we should be able to find people.”
Meng Zhang stared at the “map” for a long time.
The boy chuckled, “What did you draw? It looks like a twisted, darkly crawling centipede.”
Li Yang angrily knocked him, “What do you know? This is called a soul painting! Enough nonsense, are you coming or not?”
“Coming, coming!” Meng Zhang said, “But we’re both Foundation Establishment cultivators, and together we’re not a match for others. Let’s try to keep a low profile on the road, be quiet, and don’t stand out.”
Li Yang gestured, completely agreeing.
The two low-level cultivators temporarily teamed up and stealthily set off towards the inner circle.
They had thought that with all the teams scattered, many people would start fighting internally and be eliminated one after another.
But along the way, Li Yang and Meng Zhang didn’t see a single person. Not only that, but only Song Heng’s name was darkened on the token list, everyone else was still there.
After nightfall, the two passed the foot of a mountain.
Meng Zhang poked her and said seriously, “Li Yang, I have a feeling there’s a great opportunity here.”
Li Yang: “What do you mean?”
Meng Zhang proudly pointed to a cave halfway up the mountain. The entrance was blocked by rocks, but a faint light shone through the cracks in the stone wall, which was hard to spot unless you looked carefully.
Meng Zhang asked, “Li Yang, do you believe in light?”
Li Yang:”
It turned out that teenagers everywhere had a bit of a middle-schooler complex.
She patted the boy on the shoulder, “Light doesn’t always mean opportunity, it could also be a trap, or maybe someone is afraid of the dark and lit a lamp.”
Huh?
Li Yang hesitated at her own words.
Afraid of the dark?
She pulled out a brand new Xuan sword, stepped onto it without a word, and pulled Meng Zhang up with her, “Let’s go, let’s go check it out.”
Meng Zhang: “??? Didn’t your sword go out of the secret realm with Second Senior Brother?”
The girl looked at him strangely.
“That’s something you wouldn’t understand,” she said seriously.
“Swords are the life of a sword cultivator,” Li Yang said seriously, “As long as I have enough swords, my life will be long enough.”
