—”Damn, this is insane. Rape? Arrest? Jail time? I haven’t seen such explosive news in ages. I need popcorn for this drama.”
—”Why do I feel like this trending battle is a tug-of-war between both sides?”
—”Of course! Both of them come from powerful backgrounds. If I remember correctly, Lin Qingyou is the daughter of a hotel tycoon.”
—”Not just that—her mother and aunt are the founders of Star Entertainment. If you don’t know Star Entertainment, surely you’ve heard of Xiao Xue? She’s a household name!”
—”Absolutely! Xiao Xue was the OG top-tier celebrity, gender aside. No current A-lister can match her national popularity.”
—”But Jiang Zhuocheng isn’t just anybody either. His family got rich selling face masks and became one of the wealthiest upstarts in the capital.”
—”So what if he’s rich? He’s still a rapist!”
—”Rape? It was attempted rape, wasn’t it?”
—”Attempted? My ass. That’s just sugarcoating it because Lin Qingyou is a rich girl. A man’s strength is far greater than a woman’s. If he really wanted to rape her, she wouldn’t have been able to escape.”
—”Exactly! Anyone who still believes Lin Qingyou is innocent is either dumb or naive. She was definitely violated.”
—”The daughter of a hotel tycoon, raped in her own family’s hotel? Do you actually believe that? She’s probably just a seductress who lured Jiang Zhuocheng in!”
—”Right? The Jiang family’s young master is rich and handsome—he could have any woman he wanted. Why would he need to force someone?”
—”You’ve convinced me! Lin Qingyou must have seduced him on purpose.”
—”At this point, they should just get married and stop causing trouble for others.”
—”Agreed. Let’s spam @LinQingyou and @JiangZhuocheng—wishing them a lifetime of happiness and many children!”
A young man with silver hair, wearing blue earrings, stared at the hateful comments about Lin Qingyou online. Enraged, he smashed his laptop into pieces.
“These idiots—are they brain-dead? Do they even know what they’re saying? I’m suing every single one of them!”
Gu Huai grabbed his car keys and stormed out.
“Boss! Where are you going now? Weren’t we here to relax? We just got here!” His manager, Li Fei, chased after him.
“Don’t follow me. I’m going to find Lin Qingyou.”
“Boss, why? A few days ago, you were avoiding her. Knowing her temper, if you go back now, she’s going to beat you up!”
Gu Huai had been at the center of controversy due to his contract dispute and a violent incident involving his fans. His name had been trending for days, and he had been viciously attacked online. Li Fei had lost sleep over it.
But Gu Huai didn’t care. He shut off his phone, ignored the outside world, and even decided to take a vacation.
He had just started to relax when he saw the news about Lin Qingyou and Jiang Zhuocheng.
Ironically, this scandal had pushed his own controversy out of the limelight.
“A few days ago was different. She wasn’t in trouble then. But now, how could I just stand by and do nothing?”
“You’re not afraid she’ll beat you up?”
“If she wants to hit me, so be it. A real man doesn’t fight with women.”
With that, Gu Huai jumped into his red Lamborghini, revved the engine, and sped off.
“Boss! You forgot about me!”
“Boss! I haven’t gotten in the car yet!”
“BOOOOOSS!!!”
Li Fei stood there, arms outstretched in despair.
A stylist was working on Gu Xi’s hair as she scrolled through her phone absentmindedly.
Suddenly, her delicate face froze.
Her hands trembled as she clicked on the trending topic.

Raped?
Such a terrifying word!
Her phone slipped from her hands and hit the floor with a loud thud. She looked like she had lost her soul.
“Xi Xi, what’s wrong?” Her manager picked up the phone.
“Go back… I want to go back.”
“Go back? Where to?”
“Back home… I need to go back home…” Gu Xi’s eyes filled with panic and tears. “Book me a ticket right now!”
“Right now? But—”
Gu Xi, who always cared about her appearance, didn’t even wait for her hairstyle to be finished. She dashed out.
Her manager shouted after her, “My little ancestor! Where are you going? Your show is about to start!”
Lin Qingyou had just stepped out when she was blocked by Jiang Zhuocheng’s mother and a group of Jiang family lawyers and bodyguards.
“Lin Qingyou, stop right there!”
Jiang’s mother, slightly overweight, was panting from the chase. The fat rolls on her belly jiggled with every step.
“What do you want?”
She glanced at the bodyguards, who immediately brought forward four large suitcases.
With another signal, they opened them.
Stacks of cash filled the cases.
Lin Qingyou sneered. “Are you trying to buy me off?”
“Yes.” Jiang’s mother spoke with confidence. “This is just a small token. As long as you drop the charges against my son, you can name your price.”
“Any amount?” Lin Qingyou’s eyes sparkled greedily. “Are you sure?”
“Yes. Write any number you want.”
Jiang’s mother tossed her a pen and a checkbook, lifting her chin arrogantly.
Lin Qingyou didn’t mind her condescending attitude. She took the pen and started writing.
“Ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, hundred thousands, millions, ten millions, billions, ten billions, hundred billions, trillion, ten trillion…”
The bodyguards’ eyes widened in shock.
She actually dared to write that much?!
Jiang’s mother remained calm at first, but when she saw Lin Qingyou adding digits past the billion mark, her face turned red with fury.
“You—you—” Jiang’s mother was so enraged she could barely speak.
Lin Qingyou smirked. “What? You told me to write any amount. So, go ahead—pay up.”
“You… You’re being unreasonable!”
“Unreasonable? Weren’t you the one acting high and mighty? If you can’t afford it, get lost!”
“You—!” Jiang’s mother was shaking with rage.
Before she could say another word, Lin Qingyou grabbed one of the suitcases and threw it at her.
“Take your money and scram before I set the dogs on you!”
