Chapter 4: The New CEO of Su Corporation
The middle-aged man’s face changed, and he was about to explode when a tall man appeared behind him. The man threw a suit jacket over Su Yiren, instantly covering the view of her chest.
The young man was wearing a clean white shirt and black trousers. A pair of gold-rimmed glasses sat on his refined and handsome face, making him seem out of place in the noisy bar.
He didn’t even look at the middle-aged man, simply saying one word:
“Get out.”
“Damn…” The middle-aged man muttered, raising his hand to punch, but the young man grabbed his wrist.
It seemed like a casual grab, but the middle-aged man felt like his wrist was going to be crushed. He cried out in pain,
“Ah! It hurts! Let go of me!”
The young man’s eyes narrowed slightly. He was about to tighten his grip, but he heard the woman on the sofa chide,
“Si Hong, forget it.”
Si Hong raised an eyebrow, then released his grip,
“Get out, quickly.”
The middle-aged man was so scared that he immediately ran away.
Then, he gestured to the bodyguards around him, and several of them quickly surrounded him.
“From now on, if there are any men who try to hit on her, throw them out.”
“Yes, Boss!” The bodyguards cautiously glanced at Su Yiren, their minds already half-understanding.
These past two days, the elusive boss had been appearing at the bar, not for business or for fun, but to spend the entire time drinking with this woman. The way he looked at her was almost like he couldn’t take his eyes off her. It was clear that they weren’t just ordinary friends.
It seemed… they were going to have a new boss?
The tense atmosphere eased as the man ran away.
Si Hong glanced at Su Yiren, whose cheeks were flushed from drinking, and shook his head helplessly.
He sat beside her, his voice deep as he asked,
“Are you feeling down?”
“NONONO!” Su Yiren shook a finger,
“I’m enjoying my beautiful single life!”
Si Hong didn’t try to correct her, he nodded, efficiently opening a bottle of wine and clinking it against hers,
“Good, congratulations on your new beginning.”
Su Yiren immediately smiled, “Cheers!”
She finished the drink in one go. Si Hong asked her softly, “You have to show up at the company tomorrow, are you ready?”
“Those old foxes? They’re not worth my nerves.”
Su Yiren arrogantly raised an eyebrow, her tone quite arrogant. She suddenly remembered something and paused before saying,
“Stop targeting Lu Yunting.”
She had learned that some of Lu Corporation’s smaller companies had been experiencing problems recently, clearly the result of someone deliberately targeting them.
Of course, she knew who was behind it.
Si Hong’s smile faded slightly, “You don’t hate him anymore?”
Su Yiren swirled the wine in her glass, her tone indifferent as she replied,
“Hate is also a kind of emotion. I don’t want to feel anything for him anymore. From now on, he’s just a stranger to me.”
Si Hong looked at her intently for a moment, then the corners of his lips curled up,
“Okay.”
—
Lu’s Villa.
The atmosphere in the dining room was clearly tense.
The servants stood stiffly aside, their eyes lowered, not daring to look up.
Lu Yunting sat at the dining table, the soup bowl in front of him shattered on the floor.
Uncle Liu rushed in from outside. Seeing the broken porcelain shards on the floor, he already understood the situation. He quickly called over the servants,
“Hurry up and clean this up! Be careful not to step on it and hurt the young master!”
The servants were relieved and hurriedly cleaned up the mess. Then, at Uncle Liu’s signal, they quickly retreated from the dining room.
The phone on the table suddenly rang. Lu Yunting impatiently answered it, it was a call from his lawyer.
“Mr. Lu, I’ve finished organizing the property division materials. I’ll send them to you later, but… I didn’t see the Madam yesterday.”
Lu Yunting frowned, “She didn’t sign?”
“She did, the divorce agreement was left in the meeting room, but she had already left when I arrived. She didn’t wait for me to discuss the property division.”
Lu Yunting loosened his tie, feeling a little suffocated,
“Alright, continue with it.”
After ending the call, Lu Yunting glanced at the food on the table, suddenly losing his appetite.
“Uncle Liu, replace today’s chef.”
“Yes,” Uncle Liu immediately nodded, then cautiously asked,
“Is it because the food is not good?”
Lu Yunting took a sip of coffee,
“It’s much worse than before.”
Uncle Liu sighed inwardly and answered truthfully,
“The previous breakfasts were all prepared by the Madam herself.”
Lu Yunting paused, looking at Uncle Liu in disbelief,
“She made them?”
“Yes,” Uncle Liu’s eyes were full of regret,
“The Madam’s cooking skills are clearly professional. Even our chefs are impressed.”
The coffee in his mouth tasted bitter. Lu Yunting suddenly didn’t want to drink coffee anymore. He asked in an unpleasant tone,
“Did she take all her things with her?”
Uncle Liu shook his head and answered,
“The Madam only took her ID documents, she didn’t take anything else.”
“…”
Lu Yunting felt uncomfortable. He subconsciously narrowed his eyes.
The Su family was no longer what it used to be, just an empty shell. She didn’t take anything with her, how would she survive?
—
Su Corporation’s Meeting Room.
Su Changyang sat there with a fluctuating expression, constantly checking his phone, his brow furrowed.
Su Changhua saw his restless state and lowered his voice to ask,
“Third brother, did Su Yiren really come back?”
Su Changyang nodded, “She probably knew that Su Corporation was about to change hands, so she came back to show off in front of the new CEO.”
Su Changhua snorted, “A married woman, what capital does she have to seduce men?”
“You never know, she was able to marry into the Lu family in Jiangcheng and live there peacefully for five years, she must have some skills.”
Su Changhua scoffed, “No matter how skilled she is, it’s just about those things between men and women.”
Su Changyang lowered his voice and shrank back, “I’m just afraid that if she finds out about that incident…”
“Shut up!” Su Changhua quickly glanced around, silencing him,
“This is between you and me, don’t mention it again. Keep it buried!”
Su Changyang flinched, just as he was about to say something, he looked up and saw the meeting room door open from the outside, and a tall and beautiful woman walked in.
“Second brother, she’s finally here!”
Su Changhua looked at the newcomer, his eyes half-closed.
At the same time, everyone’s eyes focused on Su Yiren, and whispers filled the room.
“Who is she?”
“She’s the eldest daughter of the Su family! Don’t you recognize her?”
“She married into the Lu family in Jiangcheng five years ago and hasn’t been back.”
“Why is she attending the shareholders’ meeting?”
“Who knows, maybe she’s here for the show.”
Su Yiren’s eyes swept over the various faces in the meeting room, without lingering too long, she walked directly to the CEO’s seat and sat down.
This time, the room was in an uproar!
That seat had always been occupied by the special assistant, Si. It was said that he was the new CEO’s special assistant, and he had been managing the company on behalf of the new CEO for the past two years.
Su Changhua was the first to reprimand, “Yiren! You’re so disrespectful, you haven’t been back for so long, and you didn’t even say hello to us elders!”
Su Changyang echoed, “That’s right, you don’t respect us, but you don’t even respect the new CEO? That’s his seat!”
The other directors all spoke up, most of them siding with the two elders of the Su family, shouting that Su Yiren was “impolite” and “disrespectful.”
Su Yiren roughly scanned the room and got a sense of the situation.
She turned her head to look at Si Hong, who had just walked in, and asked,
“Is everyone here?”
Si Hong pulled up a chair next to her and sat down, calmly replying,
“Except for the marketing manager who is on a business trip, all the directors and management are here.”
“Then let’s start the meeting.”
Su Changyang immediately tried to stop her, “Wait! What right do you have to announce the start of the meeting? The new CEO hasn’t arrived yet!”
Su Changhua didn’t say anything, but his fox-like eyes narrowed as he looked back and forth between the two, sensing that something was amiss.
Sure enough, Si Hong turned to face everyone and said in a steady voice,
“Now, I would like to introduce to all the directors and managers, this is the new CEO of Su Corporation, Ms. Su Yiren.”
