As the melodious and soothing music gradually faded, the carousel slowly came to a stop.
Sitting on one of the wooden horses, Lin Qingyou beamed with joy, her smile radiant like blooming spring flowers.
She stretched out her arms toward Yin Hanyu, who was standing not far away. Without hesitation, he extended his strong and slender arms to lift her down.
He firmly grasped her underarms, effortlessly lifting her off the carousel like a baby, handling her with a gentleness as if she were a rare and precious treasure.
On the side, Yin Yixuan instinctively stretched his hands out toward Ming Yu.
However, Ming Yu did not obediently wait for his embrace. Just as his hands were about to touch her, she gracefully shifted her body. With a light flick of her long, slender legs, she leaped off the carousel like a delicate butterfly.
“……”
The air suddenly became awkward, as if a flock of crows had just flown overhead, cawing noisily.
Yin Yixuan’s outstretched hands froze in midair, leaving him momentarily at a loss.
After a brief moment, he came back to his senses, scratching his head in embarrassment, trying to cover up his awkwardness.
He pretended as if nothing had happened, acting as though the scene just now had never taken place.
But just as he turned his head, he caught a glimpse of Lin Qingyou taking the opportunity to quickly plant a soft kiss on Yin Hanyu’s cheek.
Yin Hanyu’s ears instantly turned red.
“Baby, why are you still so easily embarrassed?”
“…I… I’m not…”
“Not?”
“Really… not…?”
Lin Qingyou smiled mischievously and kissed Yin Hanyu again.
This time, she kissed him directly on the lips.
Although it was just a fleeting peck, Yin Hanyu’s lips curled into an uncontrollable smile.
After kissing him, Lin Qingyou happily skipped away.
Meanwhile, Yin Hanyu stood frozen in place, touching his lips as his smile grew wider.
Damn, he looked like a complete fool.
Yin Yixuan would never admit that he was jealous—completely envious and resentful.
Yet, no matter how hard he tried to suppress it, a deep, unexplainable sense of envy surged within him.
At this moment, Yin Yixuan really felt like a sour lemon.
Damn it.
He couldn’t help but mutter under his breath, “Comparing myself to others is just asking for trouble!”
Lin Qingyou suddenly turned to him. “Yin Xiao’er, what are you mumbling about?”
“Yin Xiao’er?” Yin Yixuan’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Who are you calling Xiao’er?”
Lin Qingyou pointed straight at him. “You, of course.”
Yin Yixuan: “……”
“Don’t call me Yin Xiao’er.” That was totally ruining his image and authority.
He was nothing like that fool Yin Xiaosan.
Lin Qingyou asked, “Aren’t you the second young master of the Yin family?”
Yin Yixuan snorted. “So what?”
Lin Qingyou continued, “And aren’t you Yin Yichen’s second brother?”
Yin Yixuan was speechless. “Isn’t that obvious?”
“Then that’s settled. You’re the second young master of the Yin family, the second brother of Yin Hanyu, and the second brother of Yin Yichen.” Lin Qingyou concluded, “You’re simply destined to be a ‘Second’!”
Yin Yixuan: “……”
“Pfft—” Ming Yu couldn’t hold back her laughter.
“You’re laughing too?” Yin Yixuan fumed. “It’s all your fault.”
“My fault?” Ming Yu was dumbfounded.
What did she do now?
Was she provoking him again?
Seriously, this guy’s mood swings were worse than the weather.
“Ming Yu, just ignore him. He’s on his period,” Lin Qingyou hooked her arm around Ming Yu and dragged her away to continue playing.
Yin Hanyu and Yin Yixuan followed behind them.
Yin Yixuan looked at Yin Hanyu in confusion. “What did your woman mean by ‘on his period’? I don’t have a period.”
Yin Hanyu shook his head. “I don’t understand either.”
Yin Yixuan: “Useless.”
Yin Hanyu: “If you’re not useless, why are you asking me?”
Yin Yixuan: “……”
Lin Qingyou ran ahead to a grilled sausage stand and bought three skewers.
She handed one to Ming Yu, kept one for herself, and naturally gave the last one to Yin Hanyu.
“Baby, try this. It’s delicious, fresh off the grill.”
Yin Hanyu took a bite. It was indeed tasty.
Yin Yixuan looked at Lin Qingyou in dissatisfaction. “What about mine?”
Lin Qingyou scoffed. “Who do you think you are? Why should I buy one for you?”
Yin Yixuan: “We’re all together, aren’t we? You can’t even spare one sausage?”
Lin Qingyou said, “This sausage costs fifteen bucks.”
Food at tourist spots was way too expensive. Outside, it was only five bucks, but here it was three times the price.
Still, it tasted amazing—better than any other place.
She had even waited for the moment the sausages were perfectly grilled to buy them.
Juicy, flavorful, absolutely delicious.
Lin Qingyou savored every bite, growing more satisfied with each chew.
“Fifteen bucks?” Yin Yixuan looked disgusted.
He had never eaten such cheap food in his life.
But the fact that Lin Qingyou wouldn’t even spend fifteen bucks on him? That was just infuriating.
“You’re the daughter of a hotel tycoon, aren’t you? How can you be this stingy? You won’t even spend fifteen bucks?”
“What’s wrong with fifteen bucks? It’s still money,” Lin Qingyou huffed. “Besides, if I bought one for you, you’d just say it’s junk food unworthy of your ‘noble’ palate.”
Before Yin Yixuan could argue, Lin Qingyou continued, “Don’t bother denying it. I already predicted your reaction.”
Yin Yixuan: “……”
Too lazy to argue with him, Lin Qingyou preferred to stick close to the beautiful Ming Yu. She leaned toward her and asked, “Ming Yu, isn’t it delicious? So good, right?”
Just as Ming Yu nodded, Lin Qingyou pulled her along to buy more snacks.
This time, Lin Qingyou bought a bunch of grilled skewers.
Afraid he’d be left out, Yin Yixuan quickly grabbed two skewers before anyone could stop him.
As he took a bite, he even smirked at Lin Qingyou triumphantly.
But unexpectedly, Lin Qingyou gave him an unusually sweet smile.
Yin Yixuan’s heart skipped a beat, sensing something bad was about to happen. “Why are you smiling at me like that? It’s creepy.”
Lin Qingyou pointed at the skewer in his hand. “Do you know what you’re eating?”
Yin Yixuan instinctively replied, “Grilled skewers, obviously.”
“Look at the sign on the stall,” Lin Qingyou suggested.
“Seven Mile Fragrance,” Yin Yixuan read out loud. The words “Seven Mile Fragrance” were written even larger than the names of beef skewers, lamb skewers, or pork belly skewers.
Lin Qingyou asked again, “Do you know what ‘Seven Mile Fragrance’ is?”
Yin Yixuan turned to Ming Yu, then to Yin Hanyu. “What is it?”
Yin Hanyu coldly uttered three words: “Chicken butts.”
Yin Yixuan: “……”
“Blegh… blegh… blegh…”
He instantly felt like he had eaten something disgusting, his expression worse than if he had actually eaten filth.
“Lin Qingyou! You vicious woman! Why did you do this to me?”
“How did she harm you?” Ming Yu stepped in. “You grabbed them yourself. And weren’t you just enjoying them?”
Yin Yixuan pouted. “That was because I didn’t know they were chicken butts.”
Ming Yu scoffed, “Well, you ate it, and you didn’t die.”
Yin Yixuan looked even more miserable. “But I never eat stuff like this! I have standards!”
“Standards?” Ming Yu smirked. “Let’s call it what it is—being fussy. Stop pretending it’s something fancy. You’re just being dramatic.”
Yin Yixuan: “……”
