Chapter 87: We’re Not Dating

Shen Tongyu waited and waited, but Lu Yunting never replied to her message.

She was anxious and opened WeChat again. Just as she was about to send a message, she heard a gentle voice from above:

“It’s not right to take pictures without permission.”

Shen Tongyu was startled. She looked up and saw Si Hong standing in front of her.

She instinctively denied it, “No, no…”

Si Hong raised an eyebrow, his deep eyes devoid of any amusement.

“Lying is even worse.”

At that moment, Shen Tongyu felt as if she saw a shadow of her uncle in him. Their auras were strikingly similar.

Shen Tongyu subconsciously took a step back, a chill running down her spine. Cold sweat broke out on her forehead.

This man looked gentle and refined, but when he put on a serious face, he was truly intimidating.

He was like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, capable of devouring someone without a trace.

Shen Tongyu had a new understanding of him.

“Sorry,” she apologized, both timid and sincere.

“I won’t do it again.”

Si Hong curled his lips, returning to his previous demeanor, as if his sternness was just her illusion.

He said softly, “Remember to delete it, don’t spread it around.”

Shen Tongyu lowered her head and whispered, “Okay.”

“Hey? What are you two whispering about at the door?” Su Yiren happened to come out of the kitchen, glancing at one and then the other.

Shen Tongyu subconsciously looked at Si Hong, who smiled and replied:

“Nothing, she seems a little hungry, she came to the kitchen to take a look.”

Su Yiren believed him without a doubt and said to Shen Tongyu:

“Five more minutes, just need to finish the steak. You two go wash your hands and get ready to eat.”

Shen Tongyu breathed a sigh of relief. After Su Yiren went back to the kitchen, she quietly asked Si Hong:

“Why didn’t you tell my aunt?”

Si Hong didn’t answer directly but asked:

“Do you want me to tell her?”

“Of course not!” Shen Tongyu wrinkled her nose.

“If she knew I was taking pictures of you two, she would never let me in again!”

“Good to know,” Si Hong smiled helplessly.

“Alright, go wash your hands.”

Shen Tongyu took a few steps forward, then stopped, hesitated for a few seconds, and then mustered up the courage to ask:

“Uncle Si Hong, are you dating my aunt?”

She asked too directly. Si Hong was taken aback, then he laughed.

“Why do you ask?”

“I see that you two seem very close, and you get along very well.” Shen Tongyu looked up at him.

“You just said that lying is wrong, so you can’t lie to me!”

What a smart little kid!

Si Hong shook his head helplessly and said truthfully:

“We’re not dating, you can rest assured.”

“Really?” Shen Tongyu’s eyes lit up.

“Great! My uncle still has a chance!”

Si Hong’s eyes darkened, and he asked:

“Did your uncle ask you to come?”

“Of course not!” Shen Tongyu secretly complained. That arrogant guy would never ask her to inquire about his aunt’s situation!

Si Hong sighed silently upon hearing this.

“Go wash your hands, dinner is ready soon.”

Shen Tongyu cheered and happily went to wash her hands.

Si Hong watched her happy and lively figure and sighed:

Children are indeed children, their joy and sorrow are all written on their faces.

Dinner was simple. Su Yiren only made steak and pasta, but it was exquisitely prepared.

Her and Si Hong’s steak had carrots carved into roses, adorned with broccoli, making it quite beautiful. Shen Tongyu’s steak, however, had a cute and clumsy little rabbit carved out of carrots.

Shen Tongyu, still a child at heart, saw the lifelike little rabbit and immediately beamed with joy. She couldn’t bear to eat it.

The steak was cooked to perfection. Shen Tongyu took a bite and gave a thumbs-up, praising:

“Aunt, you’re so amazing! Everything you make is delicious!”

Su Yiren rested her chin on her hand and smiled at her.

“I remember your mother said you were picky, but you always finish everything at my place.”

Shen Tongyu took a bite of broccoli and mumbled:

“It’s because your food is so good!”

Su Yiren was flattered.

“If you like it, eat more.”

Over the years, Shen Tongyu had been to her house for dinner countless times. It could be said that besides the servants, she was the one who had tasted her cooking the most in the entire Lu family.

Having her food completely eaten by someone is the happiest thing for a chef.

Therefore, Su Yiren liked Shen Tongyu very much and was willing to cook delicious food for her.

The previous boring and monotonous days had gained some fun thanks to her occasional “visits.”

“Click,” a soft sound. Su Yiren turned her head and saw Si Hong holding his phone, taking a picture of the steak and pasta in front of him.

The way he took the picture was particularly devout, as if he was about to bathe in incense, offer sacrifices, and worship.

“Why do you still have this habit?”

In the past, every time Su Yiren cooked, whether it was a complex dish or a simple bowl of noodles, he would carefully take a picture and save it.

So many years had passed, she hadn’t cooked for him in a long time. She didn’t expect him to still be like this.

Si Hong smiled and put away his phone.

“Every dish you make is like a work of art.”

Shen Tongyu almost choked on the broccoli. She secretly raised her eyelids to look at Si Hong, feeling that his gaze towards her aunt was filled with tenderness.

Were they sure they weren’t dating?

But these love words were so high-level!

Even if she killed her uncle, he wouldn’t be able to say half of them!

Oh, people are so different, it’s enough to make you jealous…

Su Yiren also felt that he was exaggerating a bit.

“It’s just a meal.”

Si Hong shook his head, “You don’t understand.”

“Yeah, I don’t understand…” Su Yiren shrugged, letting him do as he pleased.

She had just taken a bite of carrot when she looked up and saw Shen Tongyu struggling to cut the steak. She reached out to her.

“Give me the plate, I’ll help you.”

“Thank you, Aunt!” Shen Tongyu immediately handed it over with both hands, happily waiting for her help.

Su Yiren quickly cut the steak into small pieces for her. Just as she was about to give it back, she looked down and saw that Si Hong had taken the plate of steak in front of her.

Then, he placed his own plate, which was already cut, in front of Su Yiren.

“Eat quickly.”

Su Yiren thanked him and took a bite, only to find that he had given her a few more pieces.

Looking at the few steaks left on Si Hong’s plate, Su Yiren asked:

“Why do you eat so little now?”

Si Hong cut the steak slowly and calmly, saying lightly:

“A full night meal will shorten your life.” He looked up at her and said,

“You should eat less too.”

Su Yiren pouted, “Then why did you give me so much.”

Si Hong smiled, “I’m afraid you’ll be hungry.”

Shen Tongyu ate while glancing at their interaction, feeling a sense of unease in her heart.

Even if Si Hong wasn’t lying to her and they weren’t dating, looking at this situation, they were definitely not far from dating!

No, she couldn’t watch them be so sweet. She had to actively cue the process.

Shen Tongyu thought for a moment and immediately interjected:

“Uncle, my uncle said the same thing.”

Si Hong turned his head to look at her. He saw Shen Tongyu said seriously:

“He said that people who don’t do much physical labor only need to eat seven-tenths full at night; the remaining three-tenths, if you eat more, you’re eating for the doctor. Eating too much is easy to get sick.”

Su Yiren snorted,

“It’s actually ‘Dinner seven-tenths full, the remaining three-tenths for barbecue’.”

Shen Tongyu burst into laughter.

“Aunt, I think you’re absolutely right!”

Su Yiren also laughed, but she suddenly stopped halfway through.

She looked at Shen Tongyu seriously and reminded her:

“Xiao Yu, don’t call me aunt anymore.”
