Chapter 97: Come Here, Let Me Put Some Medicine On
In a moment of distraction, Lu Yunting bent his elbow and slammed it backwards, striking Si Hong’s ribs.
Si Hong released his grip, took two steps back, and stopped his movements.
Lu Yunting clutched his neck, gasping for breath, his eyes filled with anger and resentment as he looked at Si Hong.
“Mr. Lu, are you interested in taking a trip to the police station?”
Si Hong picked up his glasses and put them on, asking calmly, his voice devoid of any fluctuation.
Lu Yunting quickly glanced at the approaching police car, snorted coldly, and said,
“Next time, we’ll continue.”
“I’m always available.”
—
Si Hong pushed open the door to the room, seeing Su Yiren standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, her hand still clutching her phone.
A flicker of complex emotions crossed his eyes as he walked straight towards her.
“Did you call the police?” Si Hong’s voice was soft, revealing no emotion.
Su Yiren heard his voice and finally breathed a sigh of relief. Turning her head, she looked him up and down, asking,
“How are you? Are you hurt?”
Si Hong’s heart warmed slightly, and a faint smile touched his lips.
“Minor injuries, nothing serious.”
As he spoke, his gaze fell upon Su Yiren’s wrist, and his brow furrowed again.
She hadn’t treated it after she came back, and now her snow-white wrist was bruised purple, a sight that made his heart ache.
Si Hong sighed inwardly, wishing he could go back and give Lu Yunting a few more punches!
He returned to the guest room, retrieved a medicine box, and then sat down on the sofa, patting it.
“Come here, let me put some medicine on.”
Su Yiren instinctively said,
“I’m fine.”
Seeing the unwavering determination in Si Hong’s eyes, as if he would drag her over and force her to apply the medicine if she said another word, Su Yiren slowly walked over and sat opposite him.
“I’m afraid you might be rough with your hands and cause more trouble…” She watched as Si Hong took out a blood-activating and bruise-reducing ointment from the medicine box, remaining silent throughout, and couldn’t help but confess,
“That’s why I called the police.”
Si Hong didn’t say anything, gently pulling her hand towards him, and carefully applying the ointment to the purple mark.
Su Yiren gasped. Si Hong lifted his eyelids and glanced at her.
“It hurts, doesn’t it?”
“It’s okay.” Su Yiren pursed her lips and added,
“I don’t want you to get into any trouble because of me.”
“What about him?” Si Hong asked suddenly.
“You’re afraid he’ll get hurt, aren’t you?” Although it was a question, he knew the answer clearly, and his tone remained calm.
With Si Hong’s strength, Lu Yunting couldn’t defeat him for the time being. But Si Hong could easily take his life.
Su Yiren understood this and was indeed worried, but when Si Hong asked her this way, she felt a pang of guilt.
“I just don’t want you two to fight because of me.”
Si Hong stared at her for a few seconds, then lowered his eyes, gently blowing on her wound before continuing to apply the ointment.
After that, Si Hong remained silent, quietly applying the medicine, and the atmosphere became so oppressive that Su Yiren felt suffocated.
She knew Si Hong was in a bad mood, so she comforted him,
“I’m fine now, don’t worry.”
Si Hong finished putting away the medicine box before looking up at Su Yiren, his voice calm and composed.
“If you don’t want me to worry, stay away from him next time.”
Su Yiren was slightly surprised, then her eyes dimmed, and she nodded.
“Okay.”
Indeed, every time she met Lu Yunting, something bad happened.
Either she was targeted for assassination, or she was involved in a car accident, or she was pushed down the stairs.
Today, there was no external force, and he actually managed to bruise her wrist with his own strength.
What a jerk!
As Su Yiren was still complaining, she heard the doorbell ring.
They looked at each other, and Si Hong got up.
“I’ll open the door.”
The door opened, and Shen Tongyu’s clear voice rang out.
“Uncle! Is my little… little sister in?” She remembered Su Yiren’s reminder and immediately corrected herself.
“She’s inside.” Si Hong stepped aside to let her in.
Shen Tongyu quickly changed her shoes and ran in, exclaiming,
“You’re hurt, aren’t you? Let me see! Oh! It looks like you got a new bracelet!”
Su Yiren was speechless. The little girl described it quite accurately…
“I brought you medicine!” Shen Tongyu took out a box of ointment from her pocket and introduced it to Su Yiren like a treasure.
“This ointment was brought back from T 國 by my little uncle, it’s super effective! Last time I scraped my leg, it healed after just a few applications!”
“How did you know I was hurt?” Su Yiren interrupted her, asking directly.
Shen Tongyu stammered,
“My little uncle came home all bruised and battered, and my mom questioned him before she found out. I went to get him medicine, but he told me to bring the ointment to you, saying you were hurt too.” Shen Tongyu looked at Su Yiren, then turned to Si Hong, asking cautiously,
“Did you two fight?”
Si Hong didn’t want to answer, so he said to Su Yiren,”I’m going to take a shower,” and went back to the guest room.
Su Yiren sighed softly and rubbed Shen Tongyu’s head.
“Don’t worry about adult matters.”
“But,” Shen Tongyu looked into Su Yiren’s eyes and said seriously,
“My little uncle still cares about you…”
Su Yiren remained silent, but she heard Shen Tongyu muttering with a worried look on her face.
“Besides, his back injury hasn’t healed yet, and now he has new wounds. I wonder when he’ll fully recover.”
Su Yiren hadn’t seen it clearly from the floor-to-ceiling window, but she knew that Lu Yunting was no match for Si Hong, and he seemed to have taken a few hits.
He deserved it!
Su Yiren wanted to say that, but it wasn’t appropriate to say it so bluntly in front of Shen Tongyu.
She could only say to Shen Tongyu,
“Thank you for the ointment, but I’ve already applied it. You can take it back.”
Shen Tongyu looked at Su Yiren’s wrist, and indeed, there were traces of ointment, which should have been applied by that handsome uncle.
She sighed inwardly, if only she had come earlier, her little aunt could have used her little uncle’s ointment.
“It’s getting late, go home quickly.” Su Yiren urged.
Shen Tongyu shook her head.
“I volunteered to bring the ointment, and now I haven’t done my job, my little uncle will definitely scold me when I go back.”
“Don’t talk nonsense,” Su Yiren said with a good temper,
“Although your little uncle is a bit fierce, he has never scolded you, has he?”
Shen Tongyu thought carefully, and from childhood to adulthood, her little uncle had never scolded her, except for blowing his beard and glaring at her, or shouting and saying some “threatening” words to her.
She rubbed her nose and acted cute.
“Then I won’t go back, little… sister, can I stay with you tonight?”
Su Yiren looked at her helplessly, seeing her acting like a pitiful puppy, she couldn’t help but sigh and could only agree.
Shen Tongyu cheered and immediately called her mother, telling her that she would be staying at Su Yiren’s villa tonight.
Then, she secretly sent a message to Lu Yunting:
Little aunt didn’t accept the ointment, the uncle at home helped her apply it.
Lu Yunting was leaning back on the sofa, staring blankly at a point in the void, lost in thought.
When he heard his phone buzzing, he immediately snapped out of his reverie and unlocked the screen.
But when he saw the message from Shen Tongyu,he was so angry that his temples throbbed, and his chest felt tight and suffocated.
Fine!
She’s ungrateful!
