Chapter 2: Reclaiming

Xiao Miaomiao knew deep down that there was no point in trying to salvage their marriage. However, she wasn’t planning to give up without a fight. She was going to make Hong Wenbin pay for his betrayal.

Xiao Miaomiao gently pressed the play button on the recording device, and Hong Wenbin’s deep, magnetic voice flowed out, like a gentle breeze in the night, carrying a hint of tenderness and remorse.

“And our child, if raised by Xiao Miaomiao, he can inherit my property and also get Xiao Miaomiao’s share. I’ll take him to see you often, let him know that you are his biological mother.”

If you still have doubts, I’ll go back and find some medicine, make her permanently infertile, so you won’t have to worry about this anymore.”

His words were filled with determination, each word like a firm oath, gradually dispelling Liu Yueyue’s anxieties.

“Then, I’ll confess to my parents, tell them that this child is actually my blood. I know them, once they know the truth, they will love him like a treasure. Moreover, this will make Xiao Miaomiao willingly raise our child for us, wholeheartedly care for him.”

Hong Wenbin’s voice was filled with calculation and triumph, as he meticulously laid out his plan.

Xiao Miaomiao, listening to the cold-blooded conversation, felt a wave of shock wash over her.

She never imagined that Hong Wenbin could be so cruel, that he would want her to pay for and raise his illegitimate child.

“When do you plan to bring up the divorce with him?” Jiang Chen put down his coffee cup and asked calmly.

His voice was calm and firm, as if he had already seen through Hong Wenbin’s scheme. “At least get half of the property. If he doesn’t agree, I can get a lawyer for you.”

Jiang Chen’s words conveyed his concern and protection for Xiao Miaomiao, as well as his contempt and dissatisfaction with Hong Wenbin.

Xiao Miaomiao’s eyes were firm, she said to her cousin Jiang Chen, “I find him disgusting. I’m going to confront him today, finalize the divorce, and go get the divorce certificate tomorrow. Every second I spend with him, I feel sick to my stomach.”

Jiang Chen looked at her, a hint of heartache and anger flashing in his eyes. “I’m so glad you have this kind of determination. As for the property division, I think you can ask for more. The fault is clearly his, we have the right to seek more compensation. Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to get you the best deal.”

“No need, just take half of his, it’s enough to give him a headache.
