Chapter 89: A Ceremony Filled with Love
As soon as Lin Qingyou returned home, she rushed straight to her room.
She wanted to dress up properly.
After all, for a wedding, she had to look her best!
She kept pulling out dresses—first a red one, then a green one, then a white one, and then a yellow one.
But no matter which one she tried on, she wasn’t satisfied.
“Hmm… What should I wear?”
Just then, Yin Hanyu walked in with a delicate box in his hands.
Lin Qingyou quickly grabbed his arm. “Baby, help me choose! What should I wear?”
Yin Hanyu glanced at the dresses she had picked out—each one bright and elegant. He couldn’t help but smile.
“For the marriage certificate photo, it’s just like taking an ID picture. If you dress like this, they’ll ask you to change.”
“Oh… right.” Lin Qingyou smacked her forehead in frustration.
She had been so excited that she completely forgot about that.
“What’s in the box?”
Yin Hanyu slowly opened the exquisite box, and in an instant, a dazzling light burst out.
Lin Qingyou took a closer look—inside were a necklace and a bracelet.
The necklace was shaped like a shining key, encrusted with countless diamonds. Each stone sparkled brilliantly, as if the brightest stars in the night sky had all gathered together.
It was breathtakingly beautiful, impossible to look away from.
By contrast, the bracelet beside it seemed quite ordinary. It had a simple, unadorned design, lacking any extravagant embellishments. But its understated style carried a mysterious elegance.
Yin Hanyu carefully picked up the key-shaped necklace and gently fastened it around Lin Qingyou’s slender, fair neck.
“This necklace and bracelet both contain a special chip. From now on, even if you don’t have your phone with you, you can always reach me.”
Hearing this, Lin Qingyou’s eyes lit up with surprise, immediately realizing the thoughtfulness behind his gift.
He had truly remembered everything she said.
“Is it like the watches you and Ming Yu wear?”
Yin Hanyu nodded.
However, there was a difference—those watches were mass-produced and distributed by the organization, all looking identical, like standardized products from an assembly line.
But the necklace and bracelet he gave Lin Qingyou were one of a kind.
Lin Qingyou touched the necklace, feeling even happier.
She immediately took the bracelet from the box and gently placed it around Yin Hanyu’s strong wrist.
She playfully blinked and asked, “Let me guess—only my special key can unlock your bracelet, right?”
Yin Hanyu nodded again.
“Hehe, I knew it! I’m smart, aren’t I?” Lin Qingyou beamed with pride.
Seeing her bright, joyful smile, Yin Hanyu’s usually cold expression softened into one of pure affection.
That night, when Lin Qingyou mentioned the watches, he had immediately ordered his men to work overnight to craft this unique jewelry set.
For that, he had endured Yin Yichen’s relentless teasing, who called the design unbearably tacky.
But Yin Hanyu no longer trusted Yin Yichen’s taste—after all, Yin Yichen thought anything mainstream was “tacky” and only bizarre, unconventional things were stylish.
Yin Yichen always said roses were overrated, yet Lin Qingyou loved roses.
Most girls adored roses.
“I love this gift…” Lin Qingyou hugged Yin Hanyu and kissed the corner of his lips. “Baby, I love it so much.”
She planned to wear it every day—and take full advantage of the ability to call and bother him whenever she wanted.
“But yours is too plain.” Lin Qingyou suggested, “Should I add a diamond to it?”
“No need.” Yin Hanyu said, “It may look simple, but it hides a secret.”
“A secret?” Lin Qingyou was startled. “What kind of secret?”
“There’s an explosive mechanism inside. It’s essentially a small bomb. Adding a diamond might interfere with it.”
“A bomb?” Lin Qingyou’s heart clenched. “Why does it have that? Does mine have one too?” After all, hers was covered in diamonds.
“This is for emergencies—if we ever fall into enemy hands, we won’t be taken alive.”
Of course, the one he gave Lin Qingyou had no such mechanism.
“Don’t worry.” Yin Hanyu kissed her lips gently, his eyes filled with love and tenderness. “Now that I have you, I’ll never use that function. Just think of it as an occupational hazard from our time in the base.”
Lin Qingyou nodded and quickly changed into a simple white blouse. But when it came to her hairstyle, she was torn again.
For a marriage certificate photo, she couldn’t have anything too elaborate.
Should she leave her hair down or tie it up in a high ponytail?
Suddenly, Lin Qingyou pulled Yin Hanyu over to her vanity and handed him a comb.
For once, Yin Hanyu looked completely baffled.
Why was she giving him a comb?
Lin Qingyou sat down in front of the vanity. “Braid my hair into two pigtail braids.”
“…What?”
Yin Hanyu was instantly dumbfounded.
“What do you mean ‘what’? Hurry up and do it!” Lin Qingyou pouted. “If you don’t, I won’t marry you.”
Yin Hanyu: “…”
He was startled, but then he suddenly understood her little intention.
When they were kids, there was a time Lin Qingyou’s mother wasn’t home, so no one could do her hair. She had always had thick, dense hair, and after struggling with it herself, she ended up with a messy bird’s nest on her head.
Frustrated and teary-eyed, she ran to Yin Hanyu’s mother for help.
Even his usually serious mother couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of her wild hair.
His mother patiently spent a long time detangling her hair and then braided it into two neat, adorable pigtails.
Lin Qingyou was overjoyed, prancing around the courtyard and calling herself the most beautiful girl in the world.
Seeing her so happy, his mother had smiled too.
It was then that his mother jokingly proposed, “Why don’t we arrange a childhood marriage for them?”
“White Auntie, thank you! You’re so good at braiding! I love it!”
“I’m glad you do. I can braid your hair anytime.”
“But what if you’re not home, like my mom?”
His mother had looked at him. “Then Little Yu can braid it for you.”
“I don’t know how.”
“You can learn. You like Little Qingyou, don’t you? When you grow up and become her husband, you can braid her hair every day.”
Back then, they were just kids and never took those words seriously.
But now… their mothers were both gone.
Mom, I’m really marrying Qingyou.
If only you were still here.
Yin Hanyu picked up the delicate comb and carefully ran his fingers through Lin Qingyou’s silky, waterfall-like hair.
Her hair was just as thick as it had been in childhood, but now it was softer, smoother, like fine silk.
Even though he had never braided hair before, it was surprisingly easy.
Yin Hanyu focused intently, his movements light and gentle, afraid of hurting her even the slightest bit.
From root to tip, he meticulously combed through her strands, treating this as more than just an ordinary act—it was a ceremony filled with love.
However, when he finally started braiding, things got tricky…
The uneven sections resulted in a lopsided, clumsy braid.
But he didn’t give up.
Yin Hanyu’s deep eyes were filled with warmth, as if he was pouring all his emotions into every strand.
At that moment, he wasn’t an elite warrior, an organization leader, or a strategist—
He was simply a husband, doing his best to braid his beloved wife’s hair.
