As soon as the time was up, just as the system’s notification sounded in Ji He’s ears, she bolted out the door like an arrow released from a bow.
She was the first person to rush out of the entire goose shed, her steps unwavering, her goal clear, and her speed astonishing.
By the time the other exhausted temporary workers staggered out, dragging their severely injured bodies, Ji He had already dashed far ahead.
They looked up at Ji He’s rapidly disappearing figure and fell into silence.
Was she really this strong?
Plucking 200 geese and still not tired at all?
Despite Ji He’s speed, she was not the only one who chose to stay. Many other workers who had completed their tasks also decided to remain.
No one was foolish. Since the game granted them 15 minutes of free time, that meant these 15 minutes must have some use—they just hadn’t figured out how to utilize them yet.
The crowd gradually split into groups.
Some found like-minded companions, naturally grouping together to explore the farm as a team.
Others, wary of people and the game itself, chose to explore the farm alone.
No matter what, people scattered, each taking their own path.
Ji He, having learned from her last experience of finding the junkyard, wore her scavenger’s badge on her chest and sprinted toward the filthiest, foulest corner of the farm.
She ignored anything clean or shiny along the way.
Sure enough, it didn’t take long before her eyes lit up—she had found it!
That dark, aged exterior—what else could it be if not the familiar mechanical workshop?
She quickened her pace, dashing straight to the back of the factory toward the small door she had opened last time.
But before she even got close, she noticed something was off.
This junkyard wasn’t the same one from last time. The previous junkyard had only a wall behind it, but this one had a gleaming silver metal door not far from its rear.
The door stood out, completely out of place with the rest of the junkyard.
Ji He felt a bit anxious. Could it be locked?
But as soon as she turned the corner, she sighed in relief—the junkyard’s back door was open.
Inside, a garbage-processing machine was using its massive shovel to scoop waste into a vehicle outside.
It didn’t react at all when Ji He arrived.
Having experience from last time, Ji He didn’t hesitate at the entrance and rushed straight inside, quickly using both hands to gather whatever she could.
The junkyard was dimly lit, and Ji He could barely see anything, but that didn’t matter. Whatever was there, she’d take it. She wasn’t picky.
The robot seemed quite intelligent—it noticed Ji He collecting garbage and carefully avoided her with its shovel.
Then, it resumed its work.
If Ji He weren’t so busy, she would’ve given the robot a big thumbs-up.
So considerate!
Even though she had significantly more time compared to last time, she still couldn’t take everything from the warehouse. There was simply too much.
She felt like this warehouse might even be larger than her storage space.
Even if she were allowed to take everything, she wouldn’t be able to carry it all.
【Time’s up. You are now being transported out of the instance.】
A familiar electronic voice echoed in her ears. In an instant, her vision went black, and when she opened her eyes again, she was back in reality—standing in front of her small bed.
The first thing she did was check the clock—it was past 1:50 AM.
Then, the system’s notification sounded again.
【Dear Player from M-Star, we are pleased to inform you that you have been officially promoted!】
【You have one opportunity to change your name. Please use it wisely.】
【Congratulations to official player Ji He for perfectly clearing the one-star instance “The Busy Farm.” From now on, the game will no longer ask for confirmation and will assume automatic entry.】
Instance completion rewards:
【The game will now provide a discussion chat area for official players to explore. Enjoy the game!】
This notification was even more concise than last time, and it didn’t mention any talent upgrades. Ji He glanced at the time—it was almost 2 AM.
She was exhausted. She just wanted to sleep.
Setting everything else aside, she turned around and took a shower. No matter what, even if the sky was falling, she was going to bed!
She had to wake up at 5 AM for the morning market. If she didn’t sleep now, she was afraid she’d drop dead from exhaustion.
While Ji He slept peacefully, countless others spent the night sleepless.
Some were anxious over failing to become official players, while others laughed excitedly in their homes. Many had already started forming alliances in the game’s chat channels.
Strangely, when players tried to post about the game on real-world networks, all their messages turned into gibberish.
However, within the game’s regional chat, there were no such restrictions.
People spoke freely, with no limitations on what they could say.
Desires were amplified.
People were divided into two categories by the game.
All over the world, countless individuals were restless because of it.
Ji He knew none of this. She slept soundly.
When her alarm rang at 5 AM, she was momentarily confused.
Staring at the ceiling, she scratched her head, then got up and took another shower to wake herself up.
Ten minutes later, she was dressed, sitting in the kitchen, eating breakfast—a hot bowl of porridge she had prepared in advance and stored away, along with a marinated goose neck.
The wounds on her exposed skin had already healed from treatment, leaving no visible marks.
As for the ones hidden under her clothes, she wasn’t in a rush. She decided to prioritize healing her arms first.
She had overexerted herself yesterday—if she didn’t treat them now, she wouldn’t even be able to lift them, which would seriously affect her work today.
No matter what happened in the game, life had to go on.
After all, the little copper coins she earned from the game weren’t nearly enough to support her.
If not for the free waste materials, Ji He honestly didn’t even understand the point of playing the game.
Was it to gain supernatural abilities?
But would anyone really dare use them in reality?
Wouldn’t they be afraid of being captured and experimented on?
While these thoughts ran through her mind, her actions remained swift.
She finished her breakfast, washed her bowl, and got on her tricycle to head to the morning market.
Because she left early today, the market wasn’t too crowded yet.
When she arrived, she ran into the same stern-faced uncle from yesterday, who was patrolling the market.
Seeing her, he raised a hand to greet her and pointed to a spot.
“The person who used this spot isn’t coming for a while. You can set up here for now.”
Ji He glanced at the spot and nodded.
It was good—one of the more visible spots in the market. Every customer would pass by it.
Business should be decent.
As she quickly set up her stall, she smiled at the serious-faced uncle.
“Uncle, have you had breakfast yet? I can cook you a bowl of lamb soup.”
“No need.” The uncle took Ji He’s 20-yuan stall fee, waved her off, and walked away.
Seeing that he wasn’t just being polite, Ji He didn’t insist.
