Chapter 114: Yin Hanyu Was Stunned by the Roar

When Ming Yu was urgently rushed to the hospital, her condition was already critical.

She was covered in blood, and the wound on her abdomen—who knew what kind of sharp blade had caused it—looked terrifying.

The medical staff quickly sprang into action and pushed her into the operating room.

Inside, the doctors worked nervously, racing against death.

Meanwhile, outside the operating room, Yin Yixuan stood frozen, staring blankly at the glowing red “IN SURGERY” sign.

His usually beautiful eyes were filled with anxiety, worry, and helplessness, as if he wished he could see through those words to find out what was happening inside.

Time ticked by, each second torturing Yin Yixuan.

After more than ten hours, the surgery was still not over. He paced back and forth in the hallway, rubbing his hands together as his fear grew stronger.

Finally, the doors to the operating room slowly opened, and a doctor walked out.

Yin Yixuan rushed forward immediately, his voice desperate: “How is she? She’s okay now, right?”

But the doctor’s response was like a bucket of cold water poured over his head.

“The patient is still not out of danger…”

The doctor kept explaining, but Yin Yixuan couldn’t hear a word.

Sighing helplessly, the doctor asked, “Are you her husband? We need you to sign this…”

He handed over a pen, and Yin Yixuan, seeing the words on the form, felt his vision go black as his body swayed.

He couldn’t accept this. After such a long surgery, why couldn’t they guarantee her safety?

Why was fate so cruel to her?

About two hours later, Ming Yu was finally wheeled out of the operating room and sent to the ICU.

Yin Yixuan followed closely, but he could only watch through the thick glass window.

Inside, Ming Yu was lying on the hospital bed, tubes all over her body, surrounded by various medical instruments.

Yin Yixuan could only stare at the monitor, watching the fluctuating numbers. Only these cold machines reassured him that she was still alive.

For the next two days, Ming Yu remained unconscious.

Every time Lin Qingyou and Yin Hanyu visited, they saw Yin Yixuan standing there motionless, his gaze never leaving Ming Yu.

Lin Qingyou wanted to comfort him but didn’t know what to say.

If Hanyu were the one lying in there, she wouldn’t be able to listen to any comforting words either.

So, they simply let Yin Yixuan be. They only made sure to bring him food and water when needed.

The Fourth Day

Ming Yu finally pulled through.

When she slowly opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was a familiar yet unfamiliar face—Yin Yixuan.

Familiar because she would recognize Yin Yixuan anywhere.

Unfamiliar because the man before her looked like a stranger.

His face was covered in stubble, his unkempt beard growing unevenly as if it hadn’t been trimmed in days.

His deep, usually bright eyes were bloodshot, making it look like he hadn’t slept for several nights.

He sat silently by her bed, tightly holding her pale hand, as if afraid she would disappear if he let go.

Looking at this disheveled man, Ming Yu couldn’t help but feel a mix of heartache and confusion.

Struggling to sit up, she teased him weakly, “What happened to you? Did the company go bankrupt? Have you been begging on the streets?”

Yin Yixuan: “…”

Yin Hanyu, Lin Qingyou, and Yin Yichen: “…”

But strangely, her joke dissipated the heavy atmosphere in the room.

And honestly, she wasn’t exaggerating. Yin Yixuan, after guarding her for four days, looked like a complete mess.

Gone was the elegant, noble heir of the Yin family. Instead, he looked no different from a homeless man.

For someone as obsessed with cleanliness as Yin Yixuan, going four days without caring about his appearance was unimaginable.

The Interrogation

“Tell me, what exactly happened that day?” Yin Hanyu asked. “Yin Xiaosan said you kept staring at Ruan Lan. After he left to watch the show, where did you go? Did Ruan Lan do something to you?”

But from his investigation, Ruan Lan never left the hotel that day.

Which meant Ruan Lan wasn’t the one who hurt Ming Yu.

Then who did?

Ming Yu was highly trained, skilled in combat. How had she been wounded so severely?

And why had she suddenly driven away from the hotel?

So many unanswered questions…

Before Ming Yu could respond, Yin Yixuan suddenly roared in anger and shoved Yin Hanyu.

“Are you done yet?! Can’t you see she just woke up from a serious injury?! Are you a walking encyclopedia of questions?! What the hell is wrong with you?!”

Yin Hanyu was completely stunned: “…”

Lin Qingyou opened her mouth but quickly shut it.

Yin Yichen, however, couldn’t hold back: “Second Brother, don’t tell me you don’t want to know the truth…”

“Know your head! Do you have a death wish?”

Yin Yixuan kicked Yin Yichen and shouted furiously, “Get lost!”

Yin Yichen: “…”

“I said GET LOST!”

Yin Yixuan turned to glare at Yin Hanyu and Lin Qingyou. “What are you staring at? GET OUT, ALL OF YOU!”

Yin Hanyu left: “…”

Lin Qingyou followed: “…”

Even Yin Yichen, grumbling, left: “…”

None of them wanted to deal with this madman.

Just as they stepped outside, Yin Yixuan slammed the door shut and even locked it.

“Keep asking, huh? What, is Ming Yu your personal Wikipedia?!”

“Get lost!”

Outside the room, Yin Hanyu, Lin Qingyou, and Yin Yichen exchanged awkward glances.

Finally, they left in defeat.

Yin Hanyu cursed under his breath—Yin Yixuan was crazy.

Lin Qingyou, on the other hand, sided with Yin Yixuan this time. “He’s right. Ming Yu just survived a life-threatening injury. You should be focusing on her health first.”

Yin Hanyu scoffed. “The doctors already told us everything about her condition.”

He was used to Ming Yu getting injured. For them, injuries were part of life.

Yin Yichen muttered, “Sister-in-law, I swear, if my brother had asked about Ming Yu’s injuries first, Second Brother would have been jealous that he cared too much. The only reason he’s furious with me now is that he thinks I’m trying to steal her from him.”

Lin Qingyou: “…” ???

Yin Yichen whined, “You don’t believe me? If Ming Yu hadn’t been hurt, he would’ve beaten me to a pulp already. Brother, sister-in-law, I’m going into hiding for a few days.”

With that, Yin Yichen quickly sprinted away.

Lin Qingyou stood there, dumbfounded.

She couldn’t even argue—because he was right.

Yin Yixuan really was impossible to reason with!
