Grandpa Meng looked at the four of them, knowing that today’s situation couldn’t be easily resolved. He sighed and said, “When we discussed the marriage, the Qin family said there would be no wedding, but they would provide some material compensation.”

“Does that mean we will be looked down upon even more? Like they’re saying that a bit of money can settle everything! Won’t that make them treat Yiyi even worse in the future?”

Meng’s mother firmly disagreed with Grandpa Meng’s statement. When he first talked to her about the marriage, he hadn’t mentioned this situation.
