Chapter 131: He Is Not the Fatherless Child You Claim
“Pei Mingzhu, stop trying to twist the truth.” Yin Haoyang looked at Pei Mingzhu with disgust. “My older brother was blind back then, and you were free to call off the engagement.”
“My brother indeed didn’t choose to delay you. As you wished, he broke off the engagement with you.”
“But after my sister-in-law cured his eyes and took care of him, when my brother returned to being the brilliant and esteemed man he once was, you shamelessly came crawling back, even resorting to moral coercion.”
“How can you be so brazen about something so shameless?”
“I…”
“What? Pei Mingzhu, you may not care about your reputation, but our Yin family does,” Yin Haoyang said with extreme disdain. “I used to think I was the most shameless and despicable person in the world, but standing next to you, I realize I’m only second place?”
Pei Mingzhu: “…”
The onlookers: “…”
Pei Mingzhu was furious. She gritted her teeth and said, “Yin Hanyang, I have no interest in arguing about these meaningless things with you.”
“I’m not here today to reconcile with your brother, Yin Haoting.” Pei Mingzhu looked at Yin Hanyu. “I just can’t stand a bastard child taking the place of a rightful heir.”
She then turned to the Yin family patriarch. “I can’t stand the fact that your family’s bloodline is being tainted by an imposter.”
Her words were a direct and fatal blow to Yin Hanyu.
The bigger the family, the more they valued bloodline purity… Otherwise, the Yin family wouldn’t have gone as far as creating Yin Yixuan, a test-tube baby.
If Yin Hanyu was truly an illegitimate child pretending to be part of the Yin family, then there was no way the Yin family would let him off.
However, before the Yin patriarch could respond, Lin Qingyou stepped forward to defend Yin Hanyu.
“Pei Mingzhu, let’s put aside whether what you’re saying is true or not. Let’s assume, just for argument’s sake, that Yin Hanyu really isn’t part of the Yin family by blood.”
“But you need to understand something. An imposter is someone who deliberately deceives others for personal gain. But Yin Hanyu never once sought out the Yin family.”
“When he was a child, it was Yin Haoting who personally brought him and his mother back home. He was asleep at the time—he didn’t even know what was happening. When he woke up, his mother was gone.”
“When he grew up, it was Lan Si and the Yin patriarch who begged him to return to the family. Yet, he refused for years.”
The only reason he agreed to work at Yin Corporation was that he had a genuine interest in drone development and research.
But when it came to the Yin family’s core business, Yin Hanyu never got involved.
He even handed over Shengshi Entertainment to Yin Yichen for him to manage.
“Go ahead, ask anyone in the Yin family…” Lin Qingyou’s gaze swept across the crowd. “All these years, has Yin Hanyu ever taken a single cent from the Yin family? Has he ever harmed anyone in this family?”
“Exactly! My brother treats me so well. He’s my real brother!” Yin Yichen quickly chimed in. “Pei Mingzhu, get lost! Stop coming to my house and spouting nonsense. My brother doesn’t even care about the Yin family.”
“I’m telling you, Yin Hanyu isn’t part of the Yin family. He’s not your brother!” Pei Mingzhu shouted angrily. “If he doesn’t care about the Yin family, then why was he made the highest decision-maker?”
Lin Qingyou was about to refute her, but Yin Hanyu shook his head at her.
Only then did Lin Qingyou realize that in her eagerness to defend him, she almost lost sight of the bigger plan.
They had successfully lured Pei Mingzhu out, but Yin Haoting still hadn’t spoken a word.
For decades, not even the Yin patriarch had been able to get Yin Haoting to talk. Today, they had to use Pei Mingzhu to make him speak.
So Lin Qingyou said, “Because my husband is charming and lovable, of course.”
“Because my husband is talented and capable. The entire Yin family wants him as their leader—what business is that of yours?”
“You…” Pei Mingzhu’s chest heaved with rage. She raised her hand, about to slap Lin Qingyou across the face.
But before her hand could land, a dark figure moved like lightning and firmly caught her wrist.
It was Yin Hanyu.
Up until now, he had remained silent, showing no reaction even when Pei Mingzhu slandered him, calling him an imposter and an illegitimate child.
Those insults didn’t faze him in the slightest.
But the moment Pei Mingzhu tried to harm Lin Qingyou, his calm eyes instantly darkened with a terrifying, murderous intent.
Gripping her wrist tightly, he coldly said, “Try laying a hand on her, and see what happens.”
“Yin Hanyu, let me go… let me go…” Pei Mingzhu struggled, but she couldn’t break free from his grip.
Lin Qingyou tugged on Yin Hanyu’s other hand.
Only then did he loosen his hold slightly and with a flick of his wrist, he sent Pei Mingzhu stumbling backward like a kite with a broken string.
If not for Leng Yifeng’s quick reflexes catching her, she would have fallen to the ground in utter humiliation.
Leng Yifeng helped stabilize his mother before turning to glare at Yin Hanyu, his eyes filled with hostility and anger.
“Yin Hanyu, you’re just a nameless bastard! How dare you act so arrogantly? You’re nothing but an illegitimate child, yet you dared to lay hands on my mother?”
A sharp “slap” echoed through the room.
Lin Qingyou had delivered a crisp, hard slap to Leng Yifeng’s face.
Five red finger marks immediately appeared on his cheek.
“Leng Yifeng, shut your filthy mouth!”
“Lin… Qing… You…”
“Leng Yifeng, don’t even try yelling at me. Remember this—you insult my husband one more time, and I’ll slap you every single time.” Lin Qingyou glanced around the room and sighed. “Honestly, it’s a shame we’re not near a toilet right now. Otherwise, I’d shove your head in and let the flushing system wash out that disgusting mouth of yours.”
“You…” Leng Yifeng was so furious he nearly fainted.
Then suddenly, he smirked coldly. “Lin Qingyou, do you remember what I told you? That you’d regret this one day?”
“Oh…” Lin Qingyou raised an eyebrow. “And?”
“And now you regret it, don’t you?” Leng Yifeng sneered. “After all, I am the true heir of the Yin family. Yin Hanyu is nothing more than a lowly bastard!”
“Slap!”
Lin Qingyou delivered another slap.
“Lin Qingyou! How dare you hit me again?” Leng Yifeng roared.
Lin Qingyou smirked. “Did you forget already? I told you, every time you insult my husband, I’ll slap you.”
“You… Lin Qingyou, do you think I won’t lay hands on you?” Leng Yifeng was truly enraged.
But just as he was about to lash out, a deep voice cut through the tension.
“Enough.”
For the first time, Yin Haoting spoke.
He walked toward Leng Yifeng step by step.
Seeing this, Pei Mingzhu quickly signaled for Leng Yifeng to call him “Dad.”
“Father…” Leng Yifeng immediately complied.
But Yin Haoting frowned and said coldly, “Who’s your father?”
He then turned to Yin Hanyu and declared, “My son… is not the fatherless child you claim.”
