“Stop arguing…”
Lin Qingyou shouted with all her might, trying to figure out how to calm the fierce quarrel between the two powerful men in front of her.
Although she was extremely curious about the matter concerning Yin Hanyu’s mother, Lin Qingyou knew that her dear husband was the most important thing right now.
Taking a deep breath, she bravely stepped between Lan Si and Yin Haoting.
“You are both being irrational. If you keep arguing and fighting, things will only get worse…” Lin Qingyou said, looking at them both. “So, from now on, you will listen to me. Everything will go according to my plan.”
Yin Yichen, who was standing nearby, widened his eyes in disbelief as he stared at Lin Qingyou.
He couldn’t help but admire her courage—she was truly fearless!
After all, one of these men was the President, and the other was the most powerful tycoon in the business world. Right now, the two of them were at each other’s throats, their faces red with rage, and they had already started throwing punches.
And yet, Lin Qingyou had the audacity to stop them and even issue orders with such composure.
But what was even more shocking was that the moment Lin Qingyou spoke, Yin Haoting and Lan Si, who had been full of fury, suddenly stopped arguing and fighting as if they had been put under a spell.
They both turned to look at Lin Qingyou.
The moment their eyes met hers, the hostility in their gazes gradually faded.
Then, at the same time, Yin Haoting and Lan Si said, “Alright, we’ll listen to you.”
For a moment, silence filled the room. Even Lin Qingyou herself hadn’t expected such an outcome.
She was briefly stunned before quickly regaining her composure.
These two men both loved Yin Hanyu.
Lin Qingyou hurriedly said, “Actually, neither my husband nor Yin Yixuan has been poisoned. So, the situation isn’t as bad as you think…”
“But it’s still not good…” she continued. “Because there are many children in that kindergarten.”
“Our loved ones are important, and of course, we must save them. But if we bring disaster upon those innocent children in the process, no one will be able to bear such a heavy sin…”
“So…” Lin Qingyou turned to Yin Haoting. “Your people will be responsible for saving the children. Even if you can only save one, it’s worth it.”
Then, she looked at Lan Si. “Your people—please send your best forces to destroy the laboratory.”
Yin Hanyu and Yin Yixuan had followed along because Ming Yu had gained Pei Mingzhu’s trust over the past few days and managed to enter Angel Kindergarten.
However, the kindergarten was massive, covering thousands of acres, so Ming Yu had yet to find the entrance to the laboratory.
They couldn’t just blow up the entire kindergarten—that would kill countless innocent children.
Besides, the substances in the lab were highly dangerous.
When Yin Hanyu, Yin Yixuan, and Grandfather Yin woke up again, they had been taken to an underground laboratory.
“Grandfather, are you alright?”
Yin Yixuan, sitting in his wheelchair, opened his eyes and saw Grandfather Yin and Yin Hanyu tied together at his feet.
“I’m fine…” But in reality, Grandfather Yin’s face looked pale—he was, after all, quite old.
Suddenly, a pungent, nauseating smell of blood invaded Yin Yixuan’s nose without warning.
Being exceptionally sensitive to smells, his body immediately reacted—his stomach churned, and a wave of nausea surged through him. He instinctively covered his mouth, struggling not to vomit.
Suppressing his discomfort, he turned his head abruptly and was instantly drawn to a laboratory table not far away.
A frail child lay on the table, their pitiful appearance heart-wrenching.
But what was even more horrifying was the enormous needle mercilessly piercing the child’s body, extracting tube after tube of fresh red blood.
As the blood drained, the child’s once rosy face turned deathly pale at an alarming rate, as if their life force was slipping away.
Seeing this, Yin Yixuan was overwhelmed with fear and rage. His eyes widened in shock, and his pupils trembled.
His lips quivered as he choked out in a hoarse voice, “What… what are you doing?”
His voice was filled with horror and sorrow.
Just then, the child let out a piercing scream.
The heart-wrenching cries echoed through the room.
Yin Yixuan couldn’t bear to watch any longer—this was too inhumane.
However, Pei Mingzhu, who was standing nearby, remained utterly unfazed by his questioning.
She sneered, reached out, and violently yanked Yin Yixuan’s hair, forcing him to look at the experiment table again.
With a vicious smile, she commanded, “Why are you looking away? Open your eyes wider! Look carefully!!”
Her once delicate face twisted into a terrifying and grotesque expression.
Then, she turned her gaze mockingly toward Yin Hanyu, who had remained silent all this time, and taunted, “What’s wrong? Are you scared? Does this scene bring back your childhood nightmares? Hahahahaha…”
She erupted into maniacal laughter, the sound echoing eerily through the dark underground lab.
“Yin Hanyu, what are you afraid of? Haven’t you already gotten used to things like this? Hahaha… Hahaha…”
Hearing this, Yin Yixuan and Grandfather Yin instinctively looked at Yin Hanyu.
Their eyes were filled with shock and sorrow.
Was this what Yin Hanyu had suffered through as a child?
At that moment, even though Yin Hanyu’s face remained emotionless—his chiseled features as cold as stone—the way his body tensed like a drawn bow exposed his inner turmoil.
He was desperately trying to suppress the terror rising inside him.
Pei Mingzhu was right. This was his greatest nightmare.
That was why he feared hospitals. Even though he knew rationally that hospital doctors were different from the ones in the lab, the sight of a single needle was enough to trigger his traumatic memories, sending him into an uncontrollable PTSD episode.
No matter how hard Yin Hanyu fought to control his emotions, as time passed and the child’s screams grew even more agonizing, his increasingly heavy breathing and rapid heartbeat betrayed his true state of mind.
“Hahaha… Hahaha… Hahahahaha…”
Seeing this, Pei Mingzhu’s laughter grew even wilder, more unhinged.
Holding a sharp needle in her hand like a deadly weapon, she slowly stepped toward Yin Hanyu.
Grandfather Yin, being the closest to him, immediately sensed the changes in Yin Hanyu’s demeanor. Even though he himself was filled with fear, his love for his grandson outweighed everything else.
Summoning all his strength, he struggled to move his aging body and resolutely placed himself in front of Yin Hanyu.
“Pei Mingzhu, if you want someone to suffer, come for me.”
Grandfather Yin said firmly, “When your family was destroyed, he was just a child who knew nothing. It had nothing to do with him.”
“Pfft.” Pei Mingzhu spat at him. “Naïve.”
“And why are you in such a hurry? None of you are getting away. Whoever sees this shares the fate. No one can escape… Hahahahaha…”
