Chapter 4 : How about we be together?
But just as he was thinking about it, he suddenly heard the other party say something.
“Brother, how about we be together?”
Zhou Tingyue almost spat out all the food in his mouth.
Fortunately, he was a man who had been through a lot, so he managed to maintain his composure. But he was still a little shaken and quickly took a sip of water to calm himself down.
After putting down the cup, he looked at Song Shiwei in disbelief.
“You… what did you just say?”
Song Shiwei still had a bright smile on her face.
“I said, I want to date you!”
As if afraid he might misunderstand, she quickly added,
“The kind with marriage as the goal! And the sooner, the better!”
Zhou Tingyue was stunned.
What was going on? Had this little girl been that shaken by the couple just now?
He coughed twice and said seriously, “It’s better not to joke about things like this. Let’s eat quickly before the food gets cold.”
Seeing that he wasn’t taking the bait, Song Shiwei started to panic.
She couldn’t let such a golden opportunity slip away.
Who knew if she’d be dragged into another ridiculous plot tomorrow? As the saying goes, if you walk by the river, sooner or later, your feet will get wet.
You might escape once, but you can’t escape forever!
It’s easy to dodge a spear in the open, but hard to guard against an arrow in the dark!
This damn plot was like a lottery—if it struck unexpectedly, wouldn’t she be doomed?
Thinking of this, she quickly reached down and pinched her thigh hard her eyes instantly turning red from the pain.
(Ouch! That hurts!)
Her mind frantically searched for all the love confessions she had seen in her past life.
But to Zhou Tingyue, she just looked pitiful.
Song Shiwei sniffled, her eyes red.
“I don’t want to be like this either, but ever since I first saw you, I don’t know why… I just feel different. Can you play the guitar?”
Zhou Tingyue was confused. “I… I don’t know how to—”
Before he could finish, Song Shiwei interrupted,
“Then how did you touch my heart? I originally planned to travel the world, but after meeting you, I thought maybe I could stop for a while. I want to ask you for a road!”
Zhou Tingyue frowned. “What road?”
Song Shiwei: “The road to your heart!”
Zhou Tingyue: “….”
Maybe even Song Shiwei could feel how awkward the atmosphere had become.
In both of her lifetimes, she had never confessed to anyone, she had always been the one getting confessed to.
The lines she just said were ones she had memorized from others before. But saying them out loud herself…
She felt so embarrassed that she got goosebumps all over.
She scratched her head in distress.
Just throw away the jar.
“Anyway, anyway, I just want to know if you’re willing or not! I… I’m really serious, I’m not joking…”
Seeing her anxious expression, Zhou Tingyue suddenly laughed out loud.
He put down his chopsticks, sat up straight leisurely, and looked at her without blinking.
She was very pretty, even prettier than any woman he had ever seen. And he liked her personality, but…
As if thinking of something, he suddenly lowered his head and tapped the table lightly with his well-defined fingers.
“Little girl, you don’t even know me yet, and you’re already saying you want to date me. Aren’t you afraid that I might be a bad person?”
Song Shiwei shook her head firmly.
She pursed her lips and said, “You’re not. You said you’re a soldier, how could a soldier lie? Besides, I have eyes, and I can judge for myself. I can see that you’re not a bad person. At the very least, you have a good heart. You even helped me just now!”
Zhou Tingyue smiled and looked at her for a long time before suddenly sighing.
“We’re not suitable for each other.”
Song Shiwei immediately frowned.
“We haven’t even spent time together yet, so how can you say we’re not suitable?”
Zhou Tingyue’s smile faded.
“Then do you know how old I am?”
Song Shiwei pursed her lips.
“You look about twenty-four or twenty-five!”
Zhou Tingyue chuckled and shook his head.
“Little girl, I’m 29. I’m much older than you!”
When Song Shiwei heard that he was twenty-nine, she thought he was lying. He didn’t look that old at all, he looked about the same age as Ji Yanli.
But in her previous life, she had lived to twenty-five, so her mindset was no longer that of a naive twenty-year-old girl.
“A few years older? That’s nothing. I don’t care!”
Seeing that she really didn’t care at all, Zhou Tingyue was a little surprised.
“How old are you?”
Song Shiwei initially wanted to downplay the age gap, but she reconsidered. If they actually got to the point of getting a marriage certificate, the truth would come out anyway. She might as well be honest.
“I’m twenty this year, but after the New Year, I’ll be twenty-one! You’re just a few years older than me, age isn’t a problem for me!”
Meeting her serious and determined gaze, Zhou Tingyue smiled.
Alright. Since she said age wasn’t a problem, then he’d tell her the most important thing about himself.
“I’ve been divorced once, and I have four kids.”
Now, she would back off, right?
After all, she was still young. The way she talked about wanting to date him might have just been an impulsive decision.
Any young girl would immediately stay away from him after hearing that, right?
