Chapter 57: Proud Scholar x Elite Lawyer 15
Early August, Xie Qingjia and his team had just completed a project, working day and night. He then went out to relax with his old friends.
With his parents away, his elder brother at work, and his younger sister unable to control him, even Oberon, who could usually manage him, was in France dealing with business.
Unrestrained, Xie Qingjia took his rowdy young friends to a car race. He swapped out his monochrome research attire for a vibrant red outfit, even driving a red Ferrari.
When Xie Qingjia, dressed in such a striking manner, appeared, his friends sucked in their breath, wishing they could stuff him back home.
“You’re making such a fuss, who’s going to look at us when you’re around!”
A young man, gritting his teeth, put his hand on Xie Qingjia’s shoulder, his dark eyes fixed on his former friend’s outrageous appearance.
“Second Master Xie, give us a break, will you?”
Xie Qingjia raised an eyebrow. “I haven’t had fun in years. I need to enjoy myself. If you have something to say, keep it to yourself.”
He pried the hand off his shoulder and said cautiously, “Don’t get so touchy. I’m a married man, and you don’t want to mess with me.”
The young man’s face was a mix of surprise and intense curiosity.
“Tell us, what’s going on?”
“Didn’t you go abroad for your studies? When did you get a girlfriend?”
Xie Qingjia glanced at him, his eyes, shimmering with disdain, replied, “Girlfriend? I got a boyfriend.”
The rich kids around him all widened their eyes, frozen in place like wooden statues, unable to speak.
They truly hadn’t expected this narcissist to find any man attractive.
The young man asked curiously, “How did you end up with a man?”
He clicked his tongue. “You used to think no man was better than you. What changed?”
Xie Qingjia smiled, his lips curling. “Tao Yi, things were different back then. Now, I’m not only dating him, but I’ve also married him.”
Tao Yi: What the hell!
He gaped in shock, looking at his friend with disbelief.
“You’re something else, I admire you.”
Xie Qingjia patted his Ferrari. “Enough talk. Let’s get down to business. You guys are going to race with me today.”
“Win or lose, I’ll buy you drinks.”
Tao Yi lifted his chin defiantly. “Alright, I’ll show you what I’ve got. Let’s see if your driving skills have rusted.”
The other rich kids also got into their cars, lining up with Xie Qingjia and Tao Yi, preparing for the start.
A row of sleek sports cars dazzled the audience, who watched with anticipation.
“Are they about to start?”
“Looks like it.”
“Such a big setup, it’s going to be exciting.”
“Hey, I remember the Porsche on the far left belongs to Third Master Tao.”
“Lookâover there, the silver-gray sports car, isn’t that Fourth Master Chen’s?”
“Indeed, and the Lamborghini is Second Master Xu’s favorite car.”
“Who owns the Ferrari in the middle?”
Among the colorful sports cars, the red Ferrari stood out the most.
“No idea, I’ve never seen it before.”
The referee gave the signal, and over twenty sports cars shot forward in an instant. Leading the pack were the red Ferrari and the blue Porsche.
The red and blue cars were neck and neck, leaving the others behind.
As the race progressed, the competition between the red and blue cars intensified.
Both cars displayed astonishing speed, gradually pulling ahead of the others and entering the final stretch.
The decisive battle had begun.
Xie Qingjia, driving the red Ferrari, pressed the gas pedal hard, observing the movements of the car beside him through the side mirror.
At the upcoming turn, he quickly turned the steering wheel, flooring the gas, and sped through the turn toward the finish line.
He performed a drift at the turn, overtaking the blue car.
The blue Porsche, nudged by the Ferrari, fell slightly behind but accelerated to catch up. However, it still arrived at the finish line a step too late.
In the end, the red Ferrari won.
The other cars, arriving one by one, stopped at the finish line. Their drivers gathered around the red Ferrari.
“Congratulations, Second Master Xie.”
“It’s been years, but you haven’t changed. Your driving skills are still top-notch.”
Tao Yi patted Xie Qingjia’s shoulder. “Second Master, your skills are as sharp as ever!”
Xie Qingjia ran a hand through his bangs, a bright smile on his face.
“Of course, I’m still the best.”
Dressed in red and driving a red Ferrari, he became the most dazzling sight on the track, drawing the attention of the audience.
“Who is that guy? I’ve never seen him before.”
“He looks familiar, but I can’t place him.”
“Let’s be honest, he’s really good-looking.”
“Damn! I remember now, he’s Second Master Xie, who went abroad for his studies.”
“Second Master Xie? You mean Xie Qingjia?”
“That’s him! I should have known. Tao Yi and his friends have been friends with him for years.”
“These rich kids have known each other since childhood. Their backgrounds are similar, and they don’t have the pressure of inheriting family businesses, so they hang out together all the time. They’re a bunch of like-minded people.”
“Wait, Xie Qingjia… Why does that name sound familiar?”
“It’s not surprising if you’ve heard of him. Four years ago, he was framed and became a public figure, so he went abroad. He must have just returned.”
“So that’s him! The poor guy!”
The post from three years ago had spread widely, and everyone knew about Kong Liang and Xie Qingjia’s story.
The tale of the wealthy young man who was taken advantage of by a lowly man had spread across the internet, and many had secretly sympathized with Xie Qingjia’s plight.
But they hadn’t expected the poor guy in the story to be so strikingly handsome, making it hard to feel anything but admiration for him.
Beautiful people are always a pleasure to look at.
