Global Flood: I Have a Floating Safehouse
Global Flood: I Have a Floating Safehouse Chapter 92

Chapter 92

At this moment, the raft resembled a small submarine with an invisible barrier—beyond the deck lay the deep waters.

Even on sunny days, light couldn’t reach such depths, let alone now, with the sky overcast and heavy rain falling above. The lack of sunlight made the surroundings pitch-black, as dark as a night where one couldn’t even see their hand in front of their face.

According to the map, this was the original site of Yuncheng. Beneath her feet lay the entire urban district of the city. The high-rise buildings were submerged even deeper, and where she stood now might have once been the upper floors of a skyscraper, suspended high in the air.

Yet, now, there was nothing except her raft and the dim yellow glow from the drifting island house. Everything around her was an endless, empty abyss, as if she had fallen into a bottomless void of darkness.

If she stepped onto the front deck and reached out, her hand would pass through the invisible barrier and touch the surrounding water, feeling the immense pressure it exerted.

Her hand was still on the doorframe, one foot still inside, yet she had already scared herself with her own imagination. After all, this wasn’t a real submarine—the protective barrier only blocked external forces but didn’t restrain her movements. If she wasn’t careful, she could actually fall out—straight into the endless, terrifying depths below.

After taking a moment to observe, she quickly stepped back inside and shut the door.

She didn’t immediately surface but instead went downstairs to the underwater bedroom. Standing at the base of the spiral staircase, she peered downward, curious to see if she could catch a glimpse of the submerged city.

However, after just a few seconds, she retreated upstairs. Viewing the black, bottomless waters from the underwater bedroom made them even more terrifying.

She finally settled down by the floor-to-ceiling window, occasionally glancing at the water outside while waiting. This deep-sea area seemed to have very few fish, likely because it was once a land city, unlike the Clear River, where fish frequently appeared.

When the remaining dive time reached 15 minutes, the raft began to ascend automatically, rising slowly and steadily at the same pace as before. Eventually, it broke the surface and returned to its original state.

It seemed that once the dive timer expired, the raft would automatically surface.

Shu Fu deactivated the protective barrier and tried activating the dive function again. This time, the screen remained unresponsive, not even prompting her to enable the barrier first. It appeared that the “dive” function could only be triggered when the protective barrier was activated.

Seeing this, she felt a sense of relief—at least she wouldn’t have to worry about accidentally triggering a dive by mistake.

Evening & the Ten-Pull Gacha

By the time she finished testing the dive function, it was already dinnertime, yet she didn’t feel hungry at all. Her mind was fixated on one thing—her “ten-pull” gacha draw.

First, she headed to the bathroom and took a luxurious bath in her upgraded hot spring mode tub. In this mode, the water remained constantly warm, never cooling down, and had the color and scent of a real hot spring.

By the time she was done, her exhaustion was completely gone, and even her skin felt noticeably smoother and softer.

She applied a shimmer-infused scented body lotion, dried her hair, sprayed on perfume, and set the mood in the living room—lighting aromatherapy candles and playing a soothing piano playlist. Then, she finally began her ten-pull gacha session.

  • First pull: Red-tier Third Prize – “Vegetable Mega Pack ×10”

What a fantastic reward!

With over half the planet submerged, land area had drastically decreased, and fresh food supplies had plummeted. Even though she could salvage supplies from the flooded cities using her auto-fishing rod, fresh vegetables were never on the loot list.

Even if her next mission took her back to land or another city, fresh vegetables would never be as easy to buy as before.

So, she could never have too many of these precious food supplies. If she couldn’t finish them all, she could share some with Chen Fa and Lu Zheng.

This was a great start! Her inventory still had plenty of space, so she immediately redeemed the reward. Ten large cardboard boxes appeared neatly stacked in her living room, each containing about 20 different types of common vegetables:

Bok choy, napa cabbage, green peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini, romaine lettuce, water spinach, reed shoots, cucumbers, loofahs, cabbage, lettuce, chives, onions, carrots, broccoli, okra…

Each type was packaged in transparent containers, cleaned and sorted like semi-prepared ingredients, needing only a quick rinse and chop before cooking.

There was also an entire box of garlic, ginger, and scallions—a total of ten boxes, enough to last a long time.

  • Second pull: Green-tier Third Prize – “Raft Usage Extension Card (24 hours)”

A mediocre reward, but she hoped the next pull would bounce back.

  • Third pull: Green-tier Second Prize – “One-Year Electricity Card”

Shu Fu was shocked—she hadn’t expected an electricity card with a full year’s worth of power!

One year—365 days, 8,760 hours.

Even if she used 4 hours of electricity daily, this card would last 2,190 days!

Most of her drifting island house’s appliances were rechargeable, meaning her actual daily electricity consumption was well below 4 hours. Plus, she still had two unused monthly electricity cards in her inventory.

Now she no longer had to worry about running out of electricity. She could put away the generator in the bathroom, and all the fuel could be saved for her vehicle.

Fourth Draw: Red Third Prize – Milk Tea Gift Pack ×10

This gift pack came at the perfect time. Back when she was living by the lake, she often spent afternoons at Chen Fa’s raft house. Both she and Lu Ce had a sweet tooth, so after that period of indulgence, her stock of milk tea had dwindled to just a small portion.

Now, each gift pack contained 50 cups of milk tea—10 packs meant she had a total of 500 cups! Instantly, she felt rich again.

Fifth Draw: Red Third Prize – Braised Food Gift Pack ×10

Another food pack that made her eyes light up. Among all her supplies, aside from milk tea, braised food was what she consumed the fastest.

When she was lounging around binge-watching dramas, reading, or listening to music, she always felt the need to snack. And a box of delicious braised food was the perfect companion.

She eagerly claimed her prize. Each braised food gift pack contained: duck wings, duck feet, duck heads, duck tongues, duck collarbones, duck necks, and mixed packs of duck hearts, intestines, and gizzards—two boxes each of five-spice and mildly spicy flavors. In addition, there were also small dried fish, braised chicken feet, braised duck, assorted braised vegetarian dishes, braised beef, and braised pork head meat—two boxes each.

She counted—each box contained a total of 40 packs, and it seemed even more substantial than the previous fried food gift pack.

Happily, she set aside a pack of mixed braised vegetables, a mildly spicy duck feet pack, and a pack of braised beef for dinner. The rest went straight into storage.

Sixth Draw: Blue Second Prize – Floating Island House Blueprint

After claiming it, a blue card landed in her palm. She flipped it over, and it read:

Congratulations! You have won Second Prize: Floating Island House Blueprint (B-Class, Jungle Fresh Triangle House). (Note: Requires Level 4 Raft to use.)

Shu Fu’s eyes brightened. Based on the ranking, this blueprint was one level higher than her previous thatched hut, and its name sounded quite reliable.

She planned to test out this new blueprint after finishing all her draws.

Seventh Draw: Blue Third Prize – Compressed Display Cabinet Slots ×5

Wait, the display cabinet slots could be drawn individually?

Shu Fu was surprised. After claiming the prize, she turned to look at the display cabinet to the left of the front door.

The original 10-slot display cabinet had now expanded to 15 slots.

The cabinet itself hadn’t changed in size—it still had five shelves stacked vertically—but instead of two slots per row, there were now three. This made each slot slightly smaller than before, but it didn’t affect the displayed items.

Her off-road vehicle was still sitting in its usual spot, looking like a miniature toy car.

She understood now—this effectively gave her five additional display cabinet slots.

Eighth Draw: Red Third Prize – Hot Pot Gift Pack ×10

Shu Fu happily claimed her reward and stored ten large boxes filled with various hot pot ingredients and seasonings.

Ninth Draw: Gold First Prize – Raft Trailer Slot ×1 (Note: Requires Level 5 Raft to use.)

Her luck struck again—she had won a golden first prize!

Holding the beautifully embossed golden card, Shu Fu felt reassured. Now she had two raft trailer slots. She wasn’t sure exactly how they would function, but at least she now had designated spots for Chen Fa and Lu Zheng’s rafts.

However, in her past experiences, the gold prize usually appeared on the final draw. Since it had shown up on the ninth draw this time, could she still hope for something big on the tenth?

Tenth Draw: Blue First Prize – Upgrade Kit (Inn)

Shu Fu: !!

It was a blue first prize!

While she had already won a golden first prize, this was the first time she had encountered a blue first prize. However… she didn’t quite understand what this reward meant.

She clicked Claim, and a beautifully embossed blue card fell into her palm, exquisitely detailed. The card read:

Upgrade Kit (Inn)

There were no further details, no usage instructions.

Hesitantly, Shu Fu tried swiping the card on the function screen.

A message popped up:

No applicable medium detected!

The message lingered for a moment before disappearing. The blue first-prize card was still in her hand—clearly, it couldn’t be used yet.

No applicable medium? Shu Fu frowned. What kind of medium did it need? She examined the card closely, and a wild guess suddenly flashed through her mind.

But—was that even possible? If her guess was correct, it would be absolutely astounding!

Regardless, even if she was right, she wouldn’t be able to confirm it until her raft reached Level 5. For now, this card was essentially useless.

Now, she had three cards that she couldn’t use yet. Searching through her storage, she found a beautiful glass case, placed the two gold and one blue card inside, and then stored it neatly on a shelf in her inventory.

With the ten draws completed, she had collected prizes in red, blue, green, and gold—a great haul overall. Most importantly, she had obtained a second blueprint, and she was eager to try it out.

Immediately, she swiped the blueprint card on the function screen. The card vanished, the blueprint was equipped, and a 3D holographic model of a brand-new floating island house appeared on the screen.

This new house had a stylish wooden triangular structure, resting on the raft as its base. The entire exterior and interior had been completely transformed.

Both the front and back featured floor-to-ceiling glass windows, with sliding glass doors on either side. The left and right walls remained solid wood, forming the sloped sides of an isosceles triangle. The floor-to-ceiling windows from before had been replaced, leaving only two small windows near the top.

Since it was a compressed space, the interior wasn’t small at all. It was quite similar to the loft apartment she had bought before—an open-concept living room and kitchen on the first floor, with a bathroom at the back. The staircase was on the side, leading to a half-floor above. Unlike the original small cabin’s mezzanine, which only occupied a right-angled corner, this one took up half the area, furnished with a simple bed, a sofa, and a bedside table.

The style of the house was clean and minimalistic, which made Shu Fu quite tempted. After thinking for a moment, she decided to give it a try.

When she clicked to confirm the house change, a message popped up on the screen:
“Switching to a new house type requires opening the Drift Bottle Protection Shield. Would you like to proceed?”

Shu Fu clicked “Yes.”

As the raft’s protective shield activated, the surrounding light and shadows shifted. This time, the transformation lasted for several seconds. When she looked around again, the entire house felt both familiar and unfamiliar.

It was unfamiliar because the house type had changed—the left and right walls had become slanted triangles, and the floor-to-ceiling windows were gone. The upper space became narrower, with two small windows set high up, resembling skylights.

The wall that had been in front of her was now a large triangular glass panel, dramatically expanding the view. From the front door, she could now take in a wide stretch of water ahead.

It was familiar because all the furniture and appliances she had arranged remained unchanged—bookshelves, cabinets, sofa, coffee table… Everything was still hers, even the small decorations, though their positions had shifted accordingly.

The built-in features of the original Drift Island house, such as the kitchen sink and counter, as well as additional furnishings she had obtained later, like the display cabinet, the sliding door of the underwater glass bedroom, and the large bathtub and sink in the bathroom, had all subtly adjusted their shapes to fit the new layout and were placed exactly where they should be.

For example, the display cabinet had originally been next to the front door, where it didn’t obstruct the view since there had been a wall. Now that the front wall had become glass, the cabinet automatically relocated to the left triangular wall.

The cushioned seating area had been along the right wall, positioned near a large floor-to-ceiling window for a scenic view. Since the right side had now become a wooden triangular wall, the bookshelf, standing water bar, and cushions had all moved near the front glass wall, where she could now lie down and observe the waters ahead.

As for the bathroom, which was tucked into a rear corner of the house, one entire wall was now floor-to-ceiling glass. This meant that in the future, while soaking in the large bathtub, she would have an even better view.

It was truly just a change in house type—the interior still contained all the furniture and decor she was used to. Shu Fu was very pleased. She had initially thought that every time she switched house types, she would have to manually move everything herself, or that the furniture would automatically return to her storage space, requiring her to redecorate.

But now, she didn’t even need to tidy up or familiarize herself with the new layout. It felt as if someone had instantly moved her into a new home, with all the furniture perfectly placed at the touch of a button.

The only downside was that the triangular house had very narrow eaves, practically none at all. As a result, her shoe cabinet and camping table and chairs, which had been placed under the eaves, were now exposed to the open air. Without the protection shield activated, they would get drenched in the rain.

Moreover, since the triangular house lacked a flat roof, the entire rooftop terrace was gone. A railing had automatically appeared around the raft deck, enclosing the space. The external staircase remained, but climbing up now only led to the roof, which served no real purpose.

Shu Fu put away the shoe cabinet and camping furniture from outside the front and back doors and attempted to turn off the protective shield. It worked. Rain immediately poured down onto the triangular house, with water streaks forming on the glass walls at the front and back. It created a unique aesthetic—if she ignored the deck and the water around her, it really did feel like she was deep in a jungle.

She kept this house type for an entire week.

For that week, she stayed in the waters of Yuncheng, using the automated fishing rod three times a day. Not only was this once a city, leaving behind plenty of abandoned resources, but she also had a few experiments she wanted to conduct.
