34. Luo Yue, you like me right?
Qin Zhaoyi was momentarily tongue-tied, realizing belatedly that her attitude towards Luo Yue was taken for granted.
It seemed as if Luo Yue was expected to cook for her.
In reality, Luo Yue had no such obligation.
Moreover, with Luo Yue’s inquiry, Qin Zhaoyi appeared to be pursuing her with ulterior motives.
Afraid of being misunderstood, Qin Zhaoyi earnestly explained, “I can’t cook, and you’re the only person I know here.”
Implicitly, it meant that no one else could help with cooking except for her.
Qin Zhaoyi: [Don’t overthink it.]
Qin Zhaoyi: [My mom doesn’t cook for me every day either.]
On Luo Yue’s end, it seemed like she was upset, taking a long time to reply.
But Qin Zhaoyi noticed several times in the notes above that it changed to “the other party is typing,” a typical “read and not replied” status.
Outside, the rain was drizzling, inexplicably causing a sense of restlessness.
Sitting alone in the empty and quiet living room, the more she thought about it, the more she felt that she had said the wrong things.
Luo Yue was “punishing” her.
At this moment, she felt like she was suspended in the air, with her heart hanging, hesitating to fall.
After a while, Qin Zhaoyi said, “I pursued you because I like you, not because you can cook for me.”
Qin Zhaoyi: “If you’re with me, I’ll try to cook for you.”
After saying this, she recalled Zhong Ling’s previous advice: If you dislike someone, cook for them.
At that time, Zhong Ling had just finished eating the meal Qin Zhaoyi prepared, Qin Zhaoyi stared at the dark lump, lacking the courage to take a bite. However, Zhong Ling, being a brave soul, took a mouthful.
Qin Zhaoyi asked her why, and Zhong Ling looked desperate, “This might poison her to death.”
Qin Zhaoyi: “…”
Recalling the past, Qin Zhaoyi retracted the last message.
Unexpectedly, Luo Yue responded promptly, “What? Unwilling to try cooking for me?”
Qin Zhaoyi: “…”
This further confirmed Qin Zhaoyi’s previous speculation—Luo Yue had been peeping at the screen.
Qin Zhaoyi: “No talent.”
Afraid she wouldn’t believe, she added: [Really.]
In the voice message sent by Luo Yue, a teasing laughter accompanied her words, “I thought you were so smart, able to learn everything.”
Qin Zhaoyi couldn’t quite grasp her meaning. Although she seemed familiar while chatting with her, she also disrupted all the romantic atmosphere, as if floating outside their relationship. The only one being manipulated was Qin Zhaoyi.
Qin Zhaoyi retorted indignantly: [Haven’t learned how to pursue you either.]
Luo Yue casually responded: [That really puts you in a tough spot.]
Later, Qin Zhaoyi wanted to say something more, but Luo Yue mentioned going to lunch with teachers from other schools. She asked Qin Zhaoyi to handle her own lunch, suggesting eating clay pot rice at her A’ Jie’s place or driving to town.
*a jie – term of address for an older non-blood related woman
Without giving Qin Zhaoyi a chance to refuse, she ended with: [Don’t be stubborn.]
Qin Zhaoyi: […]
Staring at that last sentence, Qin Zhaoyi suddenly lost her temper. She felt like Luo Yue was coaxing her, yet it also seemed like she wasn’t. But looking at Luo Yue’s words, she really wasn’t being stubborn.
Following Luo Yue’s suggestion, she went to the same shop she visited on the day she arrived on the island and ordered clay pot rice.
The proprietress, upon seeing her, only lifted her eyelids and then turned to the kitchen. After bringing out the clay pot rice, she also fetched a bottle of soy milk from the refrigerator, effortlessly opened the bottle with a bottle opener, inserted a purple straw, and performed the actions with great ease.
Handing her the soy milk, she asked, “Found your grandma?”
Her accent wasn’t standard, and the word “ma” was even pronounced with the fourth tone. Initially, Qin Zhaoyi thought she was referring to her mother and shook her head with a furrowed brow, “I’m here to find my grandmother.”
*a ma(阿妈) – paternal grandma
*ma(妈) – mother. In the fourth tone, it’s to curse(骂).
*QZY uses zu mu(祖母) which refers to paternal grandmother.
“Right ah.” The proprietress casually grabbed a handful of melon seeds, cracking them while saying, “It’s exactly what I’m asking, did you find your A ma?”
“No.” Qin Zhaoyi pushed the bottle of soy milk back, saying, “I didn’t order this.”
“It’s a gift for you.” The proprietress inquired, “How do you know our Yue Liang?”
*yue liang – the moon(referring to Luo Yue)
Speaking with a raised eyebrow, as if catching a whiff of gossip.
Qin Zhaoyi still didn’t accept the bottle of soy milk, only lowering her head to stir her meal, giving a simple reply, “Met her after coming here.”
“That’s not too long ago ah.” The proprietress leisurely commented, “Why does our Yue Liang take special care of you?”
When talking about Luo Yue, Qin Zhaoyi could understand.
“She’s kind-hearted.” Qin Zhaoyi said.
The proprietress nodded, then smiled, “So what’s your relationship with Xiao Cheng?”
Qin Zhaoyi furrowed her brows slightly, “Who?”
“Dr. Cheng ah.” The proprietress mentioned Dr. Cheng Shijing, her eyes lighting up, “The top scholar on our Moon Island.”
Qin Zhaoyi almost choked on her food, asking in response, “What relationship could I have with him?”
It could only be that of a doctor and a patient.
“Tsk.” The proprietress seemed like she wanted to embark on an extensive discussion, but new customers arrived in the shop. She hastily greeted them, and in passing, she told Qin Zhaoyi, “Dr. Cheng is handsome and has a good personality. Many young girls come to him pretending to seek medical advice. I haven’t seen him look at anyone besides our little Moon with genuine interest.”
Qin Zhaoyi: “…”
Not right in the head.
Qin Zhaoyi mixed these two words into her clay pot rice and swallowed them together.
That bottle of soy milk remained untouched throughout.
After Qin Zhaoyi left, A’Jie, in the midst of her busy schedule, was tapping away on her phone.
Meanwhile, in the city, Luo Yue, who was attending a lecture amidst a group of students, received a message: [Moon, what’s the relationship between you and that girl? You can’t involve Xiao Cheng just because of her grandmother; it’s not worth it.]
Luo Yue was puzzled; all she did was make the clay pot rice a bit crispy today and used the preserved sausages Grandma Shixi had prepared before.
After all, the princess had a picky palate.
Luo Yue placed her phone under the table and replied: [What’s the matter?]
A’Jie: [People have seen it. Xiao Cheng has been frequently visiting that little red building these days, and every time he comes out, he looks quite happy.]
Luo Yue stared at the screen, then took a screenshot and sent it to Cheng Shijing.
She questioned: [May I ask, what are you happy about?]
Cheng Shijing: […What am I happy about.]
Before Luo Yue could reply to Cheng Shijing, messages from A’Jie bombarded her.
A’Jie: [You and Xiao Cheng grew up together, right? You should settle down. In my opinion, both of you are not young anymore. Pick a day to have a meal together. I and Grandma Shixi will be your in-laws and handle this matter.]
A’Jie: [You guys keep dragging it out. If you delay it further, it won’t be easy to have children when you want them.]
A’Jie: [Especially considering your past illness, who knows if it has any impact. The longer you delay, the worse it is for your health. Taking advantage of your young age, you’ll recover quickly after having children.]
Luo Yue stared at the screen filled with densely packed words. She wondered how A’Jie managed to type so many words at such a fast speed.
Helpless, Luo Yue replied: [I’ve said it’s impossible. Shijing Ge and I have been like siblings since childhood.]
A’Jie earnestly said: [On our island, isn’t it common for childhood friends to play together and, if they get along well, marry each other?]
Luo Yue: [Anyway, I have no such thoughts about Shijing Ge, and he has none about me.]
A’Jie insisted: [Nonsense. He’s very protective of you.]
Unable to argue with A’Jie, Luo Yue sent a few cute emojis saying “Not listening not listening, Master is chanting scriptures.”
A’Jie also replied with a “helpless shrug” emoji, concluding the conversation.
Luo Yue originally wanted to ask how Qin Zhaoyi’s meal was today, but seeing A’Jie’s demeanor, she didn’t dare to ask.
So, she suppressed all her curiosity.
While Cheng Shijing cautiously asked her, “[Has someone been spreading rumors about me and Qin Bingkuai?]”
Luo Yue: [Who?]
Cheng Shijing: [Your little girlfriend.]
Luo Yue: […Why are you giving people nicknames randomly?]
Cheng Shijing: [Every time she sees me, it’s either a poker face or an icy one. The look in her eyes is like she wants to freeze me to death.]
Luo Yue: [It’s because you haven’t been very friendly to her from the beginning.]
Cheng Shijing sent six dots and another “a crow flying by” emoji.
Luo Yue: [?]
Cheng Shijing sent a voice message. The professor on the stage was passionately lecturing about how classrooms in the new era should return to being “student-centered” and establish a new teaching model with “students as the main and teachers as assistants.”
Luo Yue converted Cheng Shijing’s voice message into text.
[Luo Yue.]
[You’re siding with her.]
Luo Yue’s thoughts briefly wandered as the professor on stage passionately continued. After the class, she sent a voice message to Cheng Shijing, “She’s new here, can’t be friendly to everyone, right?”
The implication was that being aloof was normal, and indifference was to be expected.
After thinking for a moment, she added, “And, Shijing, you’re also siding with Luo Xing.”
Cheng Shijing remained silent for a while, “At least I’m being fair.”
Luo Yue chuckled, her tone rising, “Even the little princess from the city, I’ve given her some leeway.”
Cheng Shijing: “…”
“People are always like this, right?” Luo Yue chuckled. “When you like someone, you tend to be biased toward them.”
Luo Yue’s unconventional reasoning couldn’t convince Cheng Shijing. He spent the entire day in the clinic feeling down.
And in the evening, he still had to go and administer an IV to Qin Zhaoyi.
As Luo Yue had mentioned, the delicate little princess from the city was quite sensitive. Even after several days since the fall into the water, her condition hadn’t improved much. It was unclear whether she intentionally exaggerated her physical discomfort or if she naturally had a weak constitution.
Walking on the cobblestone path under the setting sun, with the twilight casting its glow on the sea surface, Cheng Shijing knocked on the door of the Little Red House in the evening.
Qin Zhaoyi was in the room, going through the script with Zhong Ling. Understanding the storyline was essential for making adjustments.
Although Zhong Ling’s storytelling skills weren’t bad, they still fell short compared to the professional Qin Zhaoyi. Zhong Ling was resourceful enough to make the most of her friend’s remaining value.
Qin Zhaoyi tended to get deeply absorbed when reading the script. Cheng Shijing had knocked on the door for three minutes patiently before considering leaving. It was only then that the door opened slowly.
Qin Zhaoyi stood at the doorway with a cold expression, letting her annoyance completely show in her eyes. The impatient face seemed to say one thing – “Why is it you again?”
Rolling his eyes, Cheng Shijing entered. “Did you think I wanted to come?”
“It’s still on someone’s behalf.”
“How many more days do I have to endure this?” Qin Zhaoyi asked after closing the door.
Cheng Shijing frowned, “The sooner you stop fussing, the better.”
Turning around, he glanced at the door, waved his hand, and said, “Open it.”
“Why?” Qin Zhaoyi asked.
Cheng Shijing replied, “Just open it. A man and a woman sharing a room, you’re not afraid of gossip, but I am.”
Qin Zhaoyi stood there, momentarily not understanding.
After a while, she pointed at herself and Cheng Shijing with surprise, “You, and me?”
Her face and eyes were full of disdain.
However, Qin Zhaoyi didn’t intentionally show her disdain, but it was precisely this seemingly inadvertent display of disdain that infuriated people the most.
It was like saying, “All the men in the world could be dead, and I still wouldn’t be interested in you.”
After these few days of getting to know her, Cheng Shijing had a rough understanding of Qin Zhaoyi’s personality.
He patiently explained, “On this island, as long as a man and a woman share a room, unless they are siblings, it’s possible.”
Qin Zhaoyi casually opened the door and asked again, “And what about you and Luo Yue?”
Cheng Shijing said, “We grew up together.”
He didn’t elaborate on anything else.
But these words, falling into Qin Zhaoyi’s ears, seemed like an explanation of their relationship.
Growing up together from childhood, wasn’t that just childhood friends? Two people who had seen each other’s ugliest sides and witnessed each other’s most embarrassing moments, how could they possibly fall in love?
Fate was more moving than childhood friends because if childhood friends could be together, they would have been together long ago.
Moreover, Luo Yue liked girls.
With this in mind, Qin Zhaoyi felt a lot more at ease and even found Cheng Shijing more pleasing to the eye.
Tonight, Cheng Shijing administered the IV for her, changed the dressing on her hand, and casually applied an ice pack to the other hand where the needle had been removed, leaving a faint bruise.
As Luo Yue was not around, Cheng Shijing had to take care of Qin Zhaoyi’s dinner and wait to change her IV bottle.
He stayed until the moon rose above the willow branches before heading back.
Arriving under the setting sun, returning under the moonlight.
On the way back, he encountered quite a few islanders who were familiar with him. When they asked where he had been, he could only vaguely reply, “At Luo Yue’s house.”
Three or five elderly ladies gathered to play leaf cards. After greeting Cheng Shijing, they played cards and chatted.
“Has Xiao Cheng and Luo Yue gotten engaged?”
“Not yet. There’s no one taking the lead on Yue Liang’s side, and everyone is guessing that Hui Yi doesn’t want her son to marry Yue.”
“Why would that be? Hui Yi has always treated Yue Liang as her own daughter. I heard that Hui Yi planned to talk to Yue about this a while ago, butXiao Cheng stopped her.”
“These two are a match made in heaven. Why haven’t they gotten married yet?”
“It’s been a long time since we had a celebration on this island. It’s all about funerals…”
As the conversation drifted away, someone suddenly said, “There’s a girl living in the Little Red House, and she’s very pretty.”
“Wasn’t the Little Red House sold to Mrs. Qin before?”
“Mrs. Qin also disappeared, and there’s no news from her.”
“I heard her granddaughter came to find her. She asked us to help keep it a secret, but unexpectedly, she revealed it herself.”
After discussing the “big moves” of the old ladies on the island, they started talking about Qin Zhaoyi in the Little Red House.
Someone with quick news said, “Luo Yue left Moonlight Island by boat this morning. Why did Cheng Shijing go there? Who is he looking for?”
“He’s probably looking for the girl in the Little Red House.” Someone passing by on a bike stopped and joined the conversation, “Just now, when I took Juan home, I saw Cheng Ge coming out of the Little Red House. There was a girl standing by the window.”
“Is she pretty?” an old lady asked.
The man touched his earlobes and smiled shyly, “Yes, she is.”
The old ladies burst into laughter, teasing him, and asking when he would get married to his girlfriend, making him shy away.
Finally, someone asked, “Isn’tXiao Cheng trying to climb the social ladder?”
The group fell silent suddenly.
“What about our Yue Liang? What should she do?” an old lady said.
A cold voice came from the side, “Just marry someone better. If Yue Liang divorces Cheng Shijing, is it a big deal?”
Everyone fell silent instantly.
Worldly-wise Grandma Shixi glanced at everyone, “None of you are playing cards properly, always meddling in young people’s affairs. Aren’t you afraid of annoying them?”
“Moreover, Cheng Shijing has grown up in front of you. Don’t you know what kind of person he is?” Grandma Shixi said, “He and Yue Liang are a settled matter, and there’s no escaping.”
People chuckled, and an old lady said, “Doesn’t this mean we understand men better? We’re all women, but after living a lifetime, we still don’t know the ways of men?”
“They like the good-looking ones, the wealthy ones, and the obedient ones.” The old lady shook her head and said, “Grandma Shixi, don’t let Yue take all the dowry you’ve saved for her to Cheng’s family. Leave some for her to use personally.”
Grandma Shixi sneered, turned around, and left.
After finishing the drip, Qin Zhaoyi wanted to continue polishing the script. Still immersed in her thoughts, it was challenging to refocus after being interrupted.
Wanting to message and ask what Luo Yue is doing, Qin Zhaoyi opened the chat box and saw that the conversation in the morning ended with her words. She didn’t know how to start a new topic.
Reciting the words “step by step” in her mind, she then put down her phone.
As a result, her phone vibrated slightly, and Qin Zhaoyi immediately picked it up to check.
Upon seeing the sender, the smile on her face disappeared instantly.
It was Zhong Ling asking about the progress of her script and expressing concern about her emotional state.
Qin Zhaoyi: […I didn’t want to block you until now.]
Zhong Ling: [?]
Zhong Ling has always been a bit wilder, straightforwardly asking in a message: “What’s wrong? Couldn’t sleep with that outfit next to your goddess? Or do you need me to buy you some tools?”
Qin Zhaoyi no longer believed her nonsense and didn’t want to know. She sent a “roll eyes” emoji, stood up, opened the wardrobe, and took out that tattered piece of clothing.
Blaming Zhong Ling for embarrassing her in front of Luo Yue.
Hanging in the closet was Luo Yue’s coat, which had lost its fragrance after being hung there all day.
The unique fragrance that belonged to Luo Yue.
Qin Zhaoyi took out the coat, casually draped it over herself, picked up a hair tie from the table, tied her long hair casually, adding a touch of laziness.
The trash can in the bedroom was full, and when she threw out the garbage, she also took out and discarded the sleepwear.
Throwing out the garbage, she happened to meet a few islanders. Qin Zhaoyi had no intention of improving relations with them. She put on her earphones, covered her head with the large hat of her hoodie, and ran towards the seaside.
The coastal road was well-maintained. Qin Zhaoyi hadn’t exercised in a long time. She felt a bit tired after running along the sea for a while, so she walked around the sea.
She didn’t return home until very late.
The house next door stood quietly in the dim light, and the gentle sea breeze blew across the sea, passing over hills and houses, bringing the damp air to every corner.
With a chilly wind blowing the collar open, Qin Zhaoyi zipped up her coat to the top, put her hands in her pockets, but felt two pieces of paper.
[Spring Tide] the movie she hadn’t watched yet, this week’s movie ticket.
Qin Zhaoyi rubbed the paper, suddenly smiled.
Due to the lack of a topic and not knowing what to send to Luo Yue, Qin Zhaoyi finally found an excuse. However, she didn’t take a picture of the slightly crumpled movie ticket and send it. Instead, she carefully asked: [Are you free this Saturday?]
Luo Yue took a while before responding: [What’s up?]
Qin Zhaoyi: [Heard there’s a really good movie out.]
Luo Yue: [What?]
Qin Zhaoyi: [‘Spring Tide.]
There was a long silence from Luo Yue’s end before she replied: [Did you see the movie ticket in my pocket?]
Qin Zhaoyi: […]
She thought she could deceive Luo Yue, playfully teasing her in the process.
However, Luo Yue guessed it right away.
Luo Yue: [That’s a thank-you gift from someone else, asking me and Shijing Ge to watch.]
Seeing the name “Shijing”, Qin Zhaoyi’s brows furrowed: […He’s busy.]
Doctors are always busy, so busy that they hardly have time for themselves.
Especially someone like Cheng Shijing, a doctor who treats both humans and animals.
The label “Luo Yue” at the top of the screen changed to “Typing,” back and forth.
After several moments, Qin Zhaoyi asked: [What do you want to say?]
Luo Yue hesitated before responding: […Nothing.]
However, Qin Zhaoyi felt that things were not as simple as they seemed. After thinking for a couple of seconds, she asked: [Can you make a phone call?]
Luo Yue: [?]
Qin Zhaoyi initiated a video call.
After a long wait, so long that Qin Zhaoyi thought Luo Yue might not answer, Luo Yue’s face finally appeared on the screen. However, it was a bit dim, as if she was hiding somewhere.
Qin Zhaoyi frowned: [Where are you?]
“In the corridor.” Leaning against the white wall, Luo Yue was illuminated by the faint sound-controlled incandescent light in the corridor. “I live with a colleague, and it’s not convenient.”
Qin Zhaoyi pursed her lips: “Then you don’t have to answer.”
Instead of enduring the suffering in the corridor.
“Then I’ll hang up.” Luo Yue said and pointed towards the screen, Qin Zhaoyi immediately refused: “Wait…”
Luo Yue chuckled: “Really? What about what you just said…”
“Insincere words.” Qin Zhaoyi effortlessly exposed her own thoughts, “I’m happy when you answer the phone.”
“But it’s cold in the corridor,” Luo Yue said, “Talking to you also comes at a cost.”
“Well…” Qin Zhaoyi wasn’t very good at picking up on unspoken messages from others, but inexplicably, when she subconsciously tried to answer Luo Yue’s question, she unexpectedly heard the hidden meaning in Luo Yue’s words.
In the quiet night, sitting on the bed, hearing the sounds of waves rolling and hitting the rocks, inexplicably calmed the heart and increased the patience to endure the pull.
Qin Zhaoyi even slowed down her speech and lowered her voice: “What do you want me to do?”
“Hmm?” Luo Yue pretended not to understand.
Qin Zhaoyi, in a gentle tone, said: “What price do you need me to pay?”
On the other end, Luo Yue suddenly dimmed, with only the faint light of the screen shining on her face, vaguely outlining her features.
Qin Zhaoyi saw Luo Yue’s throat move slightly, in a state where swallowing saliva felt dry due to nervousness.
The next second, Luo Yue stomped her foot, and the light came on.
Luo Yue’s right hand reached toward her neck, casually caressing it, and her voice, with a hint of a smile, said: “Don’t you want me to hang up?”
Qin Zhaoyi felt an inexplicable heat in her throat, especially with Luo Yue’s gentle and lazy voice, light and floating, as if it were enchanting.
But it was more like temptation.
Qin Zhaoyi stared straight at the screen, nodding slightly.
Luo Yue’s thumb and index finger suddenly pinched the skin on her own neck. The long and fair fingers almost covered half of her neck, but the movements were still visible, carrying an indescribable allure.
Luo Yue chuckled softly, “So, you beg me.”
Qin Zhaoyi unconsciously frowned, but after watching Luo Yue for a few seconds, she relaxed again.
Luo Yue even threatened: “Otherwise, I’ll hang up.”
Qin Zhaoyi: “Don’t.”
This statement didn’t sound threatening at all, unlike Luo Yue, who seemed unafraid and confident.
“Then you…” Luo Yue paused slightly, rhythmically and provocatively asked again: “Do you beg…”
“Beg you.” Qin Zhaoyi interrupted her, her voice, unlike usual coldness, was somewhat muffled, and her fingers kept rubbing her wrist.
Luo Yue curled her lips and chuckled lightly, her voice becoming more enticing: “Who are you begging?”
“Luo Yue.” Qin Zhaoyi called her name, the clear tone containing an indescribable tenderness.
“Who is begging whom?” Luo Yue asked, taking advantage of the situation.
It was more like testing Qin Zhaoyi’s bottom line.
And Qin Zhaoyi also answered Luo Yue’s question with actions; there seemed to be no bottom line when facing Luo Yue.
The cold eyebrows and eyes remained as cool as ever, and there were no unnecessary expressions when speaking.
Only those eyes, staring straight at the screen as if ready to devour someone at any moment, throat sliding several times, licked the somewhat dry lips.
It seemed that there was some emotion involved; those tainted by passion treated the ones they liked as if they could pluck stars for them.
“Qin Zhaoyi is begging Luo Yue.” Qin Zhaoyi spoke, not even needing Luo Yue’s guidance, taking the initiative to extend: “I beg you not to hang up.”
Clearly uttering very romantic words, but with no suggestive intentions.
It was because Qin Zhaoyi’s expression was very serious, her voice icy, even colder than when she had just called Luo Yue.
Luo Yue was stunned, seemingly not expecting Qin Zhaoyi to act this way.
Luo Yue coughed lightly, intending to make a joke, but Qin Zhaoyi unexpectedly raised an eyebrow and asked, “So, can you go to the movies with me now?”
Luo Yue: “…”
She thought Qin Zhaoyi was angry.
However, when Qin Zhaoyi brought the conversation back to its original topic, Luo Yue answered the question: “No.”
“Why?” Qin Zhaoyi frowned in confusion, even throwing in English.
Luo Yue smiled ambiguously, “I’ve already said it’s a thank-you gift from someone else.”
“I can buy them again.” Qin Zhaoyi said, “You don’t have to go with Cheng Shijing.”
Luo Yue was slightly stunned, then laughed, probably understanding why Qin Zhaoyi called her.
But…
“Princess Qin.” Luo Yue smiled, “Don’t you want to know what this thank-you gift is?”
“What?” Qin Zhaoyi asked.
Luo Yue spoke leisurely, “These two tickets were given to me by Teacher Qi Duan from our school.”
“A man?” Qin Zhaoyi was not too pleased, her voice colder, “Likes you?”
Luo Yue shook her head with a light laugh, “No.”
Qin Zhaoyi was about to continue guessing when she heard Luo Yue slowly say, “He likes you and wants me to introduce you to him as a girlfriend.”
Qin Zhaoyi’s expression suddenly became complicated.
And Luo Yue, with a hint of teasing, said, “Princess Qin, do you want to change sides?”
Qin Zhaoyi paused, “What do you mean?”
“After all, our beloved Princess Qin is a straight woman,” Luo Yue let the light go off without caring, her whole person shrouded in darkness, “But don’t blame me for getting on this pirate ship.”
Through the screen, Qin Zhaoyi also felt that something was off with Luo Yue.
The way she spoke… it was odd.
After a moment, Qin Zhaoyi suddenly asked very seriously, “So, my dear Luo Yue, are you jealous?”
She returned the endearment, and asked back with a very innocent tone.
Luo Yue was startled, and even her heartbeat paused.
Then she slowly smiled, “Could it be that Princess Qin doesn’t want me and Shijing Ge to go to the movies because the movie isn’t good?”
“Of course not,” Qin Zhaoyi said confidently, “I am jealous, and I am possessive.”
“Well then,” Luo Yue chuckled, “Isn’t it like saying, officials are allowed to start a fire, but the common people can’t light a lamp?”
Luo Yue briefly released a bit of affection.
In the midst of haze, Qin Zhaoyi seemed to sense a bit of concern, her lips curled slightly, and quickly tightened again.
Qin Zhaoyi was bathed in light, her clear eyes not softened much in the lens, but her expression softened a bit when she turned the conversation, “So, Luo Yue, you like me, don’t you?”
Luo Yue stared at the camera, her tone light and drifting, “Yes, I do.”
Qin Zhaoyi wanted to say something more, but the call was suddenly hung up.
