Last time, when Liu Chun and Liu Yan were involved in trouble, Liang Chen didn’t go after Kong Yu because both he and Xiao Jie wanted the sisters to focus on their exams first.
That was something they had discussed and agreed upon in private.
But now, Kong Yu had come knocking on their door himself.
Breaking through the crowd, Liang Chen took quick strides, almost jogging in the direction Kong Yu had fled.
With his tall stature, long legs, and professional training, Kong Yu was no match for him.
He barely made it three hundred meters before Liang Chen cornered him in a dead-end alley.
Damn it. He wasn’t familiar with the roads here!
Outside, the streets were bustling with people, but here, in this isolated corner, no one could see them.
Liang Chen was a whole head taller than him.
Rolling up his sleeves, he revealed his muscular arms.
In one swift move, he pinned Kong Yu against the wall. Kong Yu was caught off guard and instantly felt the sheer strength in Liang Chen’s grip—his shoulder ached from the pressure!
Seeing Liang Chen extend his hand, Kong Yu immediately returned the bag.
His face was filled with disbelief, panic, and the fear of being overpowered by Liang Chen’s strength.
He didn’t even take a second to consider resisting.
Liang Chen released him and opened the bag to check—everything was still there.
Then he asked, “How old are you?”
“T-T-…Eighteen.”
“Oh? Do you realize who you just messed with?”
Kong Yu shook his head, his face pleading. “Big bro, I’m sorry, I swear! This was my first time—please let me go just this once!”
“Let you go?”
“I beg you, big bro! I was just momentarily blinded by greed! I swear I’ll never steal again, please!”
Liang Chen patted Kong Yu’s shoulder and let out a cold chuckle. “If I remember correctly, weren’t you quite arrogant back in school? Or have you forgotten who I am?”
Of course, Kong Yu remembered who he was.
“N-No… I haven’t…”
“So, you did this on purpose?”
Kong Yu quickly denied it, but under Liang Chen’s intense gaze, fear paralyzed him.
Before he could react, Liang Chen slapped him across the face.
The angle wasn’t wide, but the force was at full capacity.
Kong Yu’s cheek immediately swelled up, and tears welled in his eyes.
“Say it! Was it on purpose?”
Kong Yu didn’t dare admit it. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I won’t do it again! Never again!”
Liang Chen sighed. Taking advantage of the moment when Kong Yu lifted his head, he slapped him again.
Now, both sides of his face were swollen—perfectly symmetrical.
“Good. Now it’s even.”
Kong Yu burst into loud sobs.
But Liang Chen wasn’t done. “I heard you have a bit of a temper? A tendency to throw tantrums and roll on the ground?”
Kong Yu frantically shook his head.
Liang Chen smirked. “I’d really love to see that. Show me what it looks like.”
Kong Yu didn’t dare. He opened his mouth to plead again.
Before he could, Liang Chen slapped him once more. This time, his voice turned cold and menacing. “Hurry up and perform for me! Don’t make me angry.”
Kong Yu’s legs gave out from fear, and he collapsed onto the ground.
Just then, Jing Xi happened to find them.
Seeing Kong Yu sitting helplessly on the ground while Liang Chen had already reclaimed the bag, she didn’t say anything and was about to leave when she heard Liang Chen repeat his command.
“I’ll say it one more time! Don’t make me say it a third!”
Only then did Kong Yu reluctantly lie down on the ground.
Jing Xi finally understood.
Oh? So it was all an act, huh?
So this whole “obsessive, violent disorder” was just a show?
Just so no one at school would dare cross you? So you could bully others freely?
Liang Chen was unimpressed. “More effort!”
Kong Yu exaggerated his movements slightly.
Liang Chen shook his head. “You need to scream. Didn’t you scream when you were outside the school gate? Need me to help jog your memory?”
Kong Yu opened his mouth and whimpered a few times, barely audible.
He didn’t dare raise his voice.
Liang Chen lost his patience and kicked him squarely on the backside.
“Get up!”
Kong Yu clung to the wall as he pulled himself up, but he kept his head down, not daring to meet Liang Chen’s eyes.
“My car window—you smashed it too. So tell me, how do you plan to compensate me?”
Kong Yu burst into tears again. “Big bro! Big bro, I was wrong! Please, I beg you, you can beat me or curse me, but I don’t have any money! H-How can I pay you back?”
“No money? Yet you still dared to break someone’s car window and steal their bag?” Liang Chen’s voice was sharp. “Give me your parents’ contact information and your home address! If you can’t pay, they sure can.”
Kong Yu frantically shook his head.
Then, as if a thought suddenly struck him, he quickly blurted out, “I’ll take you to my uncle! My uncle!”
Kong Zhigang?
Interesting.
Liang Chen glanced at his watch. “Tell your uncle to meet me at 42 Qishan Road tonight. If he doesn’t show up, he’ll have to deal with the consequences.”
Kong Yu nodded repeatedly.
“Alright, now scram.”
Like a prisoner granted amnesty, Kong Yu bolted.
As soon as he ran out of the alley, he spotted Jing Xi leaning against a wall, tilting her head as she watched him.
“What are you looking at?!”
Jing Xi widened her eyes—did he really dare to act tough?
Without hesitation, she stuck out her leg and tripped Kong Yu, sending him sprawling face-first onto the ground.
“Aaaahhh! My tooth!”
Jing Xi looked over.
Lying on the ground, stained with blood, was a shiny front tooth.
Nice.
Liang Chen stepped outside and saw Kong Yu lying on the ground.
The moment Kong Yu saw Liang Chen, he scrambled to his feet and bolted.
He didn’t even bother picking up his fallen tooth.
He didn’t say a single word to Jing Xi.
He just ran and disappeared in an instant.
“You think Kong Zhigang will show up?”
Liang Chen nodded confidently. “He’ll definitely come. By the way, do you know who Kong Yu’s parents are?”
“How would I know?”
Liang Chen smirked. “Your cousin’s ex-husband and your little cousin’s son—that’s Kong Yu.”
Jing Xi couldn’t hold back and blurted, “What the hell!”
What a small world!
“Seriously?”
“Yep. After the last incident, I looked into it. I was going to tell you, but things got busy, and I didn’t get the chance.”
Jing Xi grinned. “This is going to be good.”
Liang Chen narrowed his eyes. “…Wait, you’re not waiting for me to deal with Kong Yu, are you?”
Jing Xi raised an eyebrow. “Aren’t you supposed to? You saw what he did to Liu Chun, right? And don’t forget Kong Zhigang—he beat Liu Yan and Liu Chun so badly they had to stay home for ages. They couldn’t even go to school.”
Liang Chen nodded. “Of course, I haven’t forgotten. I won’t let that brat off easy. Just watch.”
Jing Xi was more than satisfied.
Love really was a powerful thing!
Meanwhile, the passenger-side window of Liang Chen’s car had been completely shattered, leaving broken glass all over the seat.
Fixing it was going to cost a lot.
By the time they reached the school gates, Liu Yan had already come out of the exam hall.
Jing Xi hurried forward. “How did it go?”
Liu Yan looked completely relaxed and cheerful. “I think it went pretty well! I knew all the answers!”
“That’s great!”
Liu Yan was starting to feel hungry, so the group began discussing where to eat.
But every place was packed with people.
Liang Chen stepped in. “Let’s go to my place with Xiao Jie. He’s already prepared lunch.”
Zhang Rui hesitated. “Oh, we couldn’t possibly impose!”
Liu Jianchang also said, “We can just grab a quick bite somewhere.”
Liang Chen insisted, “It’s really no trouble, and it’s not far from here!”
In the end, the group headed to Xiao Jie’s place.
Jing Xi still had to go to the bun shop, so after spending a little time with them, she left.
As soon as she stepped outside, she saw Xiao Jie returning with a large amount of food.
His face was practically glowing with happiness.
Why did he look like he was in love?
“Xiao Jing, why are you leaving? Aren’t you staying for lunch?”
“I’ve got things to take care of. You guys enjoy!”
