Rebirth in the ’90s: The Fat Wife Wants to Turn Her Life Around – Chapter 32

Chapter 32

“You’re talking nonsense! Your girlfriend is Ye Yao! Get out of my way—I’m going back!”

Zhao Qingqing’s face darkened with anger as she shouted.

Li Yukun, still grinning shamelessly, leaned closer to her. “I’ll let you go, but only if you let me kiss you—just one kiss!”

Zhao Qingqing’s face turned pale with fright. “Li Yukun, don’t you dare try anything! If you do, my parents won’t let you off!”

She was regretting her decision so much that she could barely stand it. If she had known this man was such a scumbag, she would never have come here!

Li Yukun hesitated for a moment. To be honest, he was somewhat wary of the people in the compound.

But then he remembered—soon, he would be eloping with Ye Yao. Even if he took advantage of Zhao Qingqing now, no one would be able to find him afterward.

Seeing his shifting expressions and then his eyes suddenly burning with lust, Zhao Qingqing grew truly terrified.

Her first instinct was to run. But before she could react, Li Yukun moved even faster—he grabbed her and pulled her into his arms. His foul-smelling mouth came straight for her face.

Zhao Qingqing struggled like mad, screaming and crying.

When she realized he was trying to drag her into the small grove, genuine fear gripped her.

“Help! Somebody help me!”

She screamed at the top of her lungs, but instead of stopping, Li Yukun seemed even more excited.

Just as she was about to lose all hope, flickering firelight appeared in the distance.

Someone was coming!

“Let me go! Someone’s—someone’s coming!”

At first, Li Yukun thought she was lying to distract him, so he ignored her struggles.

But then he heard the sound of footsteps—lots of them—getting closer and closer. He could even make out voices. His mind went blank in panic.

Seizing the opportunity, Zhao Qingqing finally broke free. She raised her hand and slapped him across the face—hard!

“What do you think you’re doing?”

A sharp voice cut through the night, accompanying the slap.

Panting heavily, Zhao Qingqing looked up and saw familiar faces. Tears of grievance streamed down her cheeks.

“Uncle Li, Auntie Wang, you’re finally here! Please beat this beast to death—he tried to assault me… Waaaah!”

She was seething with hatred, wishing she could tear Li Yukun apart. She was so focused on venting her anger that she failed to notice the complicated and strange expressions on the faces of the people around her.

She also didn’t stop to wonder why so many neighbors from the compound had suddenly gathered here.

Li Yukun, now half-sober, started backing away in fear.

Damn it! Liquid courage really was a trap—he was in deep trouble now.

“You two… You two were actually doing this?!”

The leader, Li Wenqing, was utterly dumbfounded. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it even if someone had sworn on it.

The others wore the same look of shock and disbelief.

Zhao Qingqing finally sensed that something was wrong. “Uncle Li, Auntie Wang, why are you looking at me like that? I’m telling the truth! This beast got drunk and tried to assault me! Luckily, you all—”

“Qingqing, let me ask you—why are you here so late at night?”

Before she could finish her sentence, Li Wenqing interrupted her, his face stern.

Zhao Qingqing froze for a moment. Then her mind buzzed, and a terrible premonition took hold of her.

“It’s not me—it’s Ye Yao! Ye Yao was supposed to elope with this man! I only came here to pass on a message—”
