Rebirth in the ’90s: The Fat Wife Wants to Turn Her Life Around – Chapter 59

Chapter 59

“Whoo!”

Ye Yao let out a breath as she looked at the now-spotless restroom.

The women’s restroom was done; now it was time for the men’s.

“Professor Li is amazing, and he’s so handsome too. I wonder if he has a girlfriend?”

“I heard he already has a fiancée.”

“Really? What kind of woman could possibly be worthy of someone like Professor Li?”

Ye Yao paused in her steps. This Professor Li had been mentioned at least ten times already.

Was he really that outstanding?

Glancing at the time, she realized she had finished her task much quicker than expected—at least ten minutes earlier than the supervisor had estimated.

Since Professor Li was giving a public lecture nearby, she suddenly felt curious to see what kind of “legendary figure” he was.

Five minutes later, Ye Yao stood at the back door of the classroom and looked toward the lectern.

Seeing the tall and confident figure on the podium, her mouth twitched.

It wasn’t Professor Li—it was Professor Li!

Li Cheng was actually a professor here?

Ye Yao felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Her jaw almost hit the back of her head.

The lecture hall was packed, and about seventy percent of the audience were female.

She suddenly had an amusing thought—what if she walked in with a trash bin and announced that she was Professor Li’s fiancée? Would that shatter his “glorious” image?

Of course, that was just her own mischievous imagination.

Not wanting to see that face any longer, she quickly turned and left.

She still had to clean the men’s restroom. If she’d known this would happen, she would have gone straight there—then she wouldn’t be feeling this “disgusted” now.

Placing a “Cleaning in Progress” sign outside the men’s restroom, Ye Yao vigorously wiped down the sinks.

“What’s so great about being a professor? Back in the day, professors lined up from here to the front gate just to chase after me… Sigh.”

Looking at her chubby face in the mirror, her frustration turned into discomfort.

She should just focus on improving herself—why waste energy thinking about people who didn’t matter?

“Done!”

Ye Yao wiped her sweaty forehead. It wasn’t as hard as she’d imagined.

Her stomach growled.

She wasn’t sure about the time, but it was probably around noon.

After packing up her cleaning tools, she walked to the door and turned the handle.

Nothing.

She tried again.

Still no response.

“You’ve got to be kidding me…”

Muttering to herself, she suddenly had a bad feeling.

A few minutes later, she confirmed that the lock was broken—completely broken. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t open it from the inside.

“Is anyone out there? Hey! Someone, help!”

With no other option, she banged on the door and shouted.

Since this was a restroom, surely someone would come by soon.

But after calling out at least ten times, there was still no response.

Was class still in session?

Thinking that, she decided to take a break, leaning against the sink in frustration.

Her life was already tough enough—now she had to deal with something like this?

“Hey, anyone passing by, anyone needing to use the restroom—anyone—please help me open the door!”

Every couple of minutes, she called out again.

She had no idea how long had passed when a voice finally came from outside.

“Is someone in there?”

Ye Yao’s eyes lit up.

“Yes! Yes! The door is broken—I’m locked in!”

“Wait… You’re a woman?”

The person outside was shocked.

After all, this was the men’s restroom.
