Ye Yao didn’t mind, as this was the reality she had to face.
“So, what I need to do in the beginning is maintain mystery. Which do you think is easier to develop: a powerful, mysterious brand designer, or a plain-looking, capable designer?”
“Of course, the former. Ye Yao, you’ve thought this through carefully. But you can’t stay hidden forever, can you?”
Cai Qingyuan finally understood her thoughtful approach. It seemed she had considered all aspects of building a brand.
Ye Yao’s gaze deepened. “Of course, not forever.”
She would lose the excess weight on her body as quickly as possible and appear in front of the world in her best form.
“Old Cai, that’s a matter for the future. As for now, Ye Yao’s idea is just fine.”
Liu Wentao completely agreed.
“Ye Yao, have you decided on the brand name you want to register?”
He suddenly felt that the future would indeed be interesting.
Ye Yao’s eyes sparkled as she picked up a pen and wrote a name on the contract with elegant strokes.
“Yao Yipin.”
Cai Qingyuan and Liu Wentao both read the three characters aloud.
A brand name starting with her own name? This girl’s ambition was unmistakable.
“Alright, Yao Yipin! Now, for the public, what will your name be?”
“Y?”
Cai Qingyuan frowned. What kind of name was that?
It was just a single letter.
“Yes, from now on, I’ll be Designer Y.”
Y was the first letter of her last name and her first name. There was nothing better than this.
Cai Qingyuan and Liu Wentao exchanged looks. This name was indeed mysterious and rather quirky.
They never imagined that, a few years later, Designer Y would become one of the top clothing brand designers in the country!

“Yao Yao, you said you’re working as an apprentice in a clothing store?”
That evening, after mother and daughter had dinner, Zhang Qiufeng couldn’t hide her excitement.
She had never imagined that one day Ye Yao would be out working and earning money.
And working in a clothing store no less! She had heard that clothing stores required good looks, and she never expected the boss wouldn’t mind her daughter.
“Mom, I’m not an apprentice. I’m going there to draw designs.”
Ye Yao repeated herself.
She didn’t dare to tell her mother that she had become a designer and would soon have her own brand. Her mother might either not believe her or think she had been deceived, so she just told her she was going there to draw designs.
“Whatever it is, just make sure you work well there, keep your hands busy. I’m not asking for riches; I just want you to work steadily.”
Zhang Qiufeng asked about her salary and benefits, and they were quite good, so she was really satisfied.
Ye Yao knew there was no convincing her. No matter how she explained, as long as her mother was at ease with her going out, that was enough.
“Mom, I’ll be at work during the day, and you’ll be home alone. If you need anything, you can go find Aunt Li from the front yard. I’ve already talked to her. Also, I’ll arrange for the phone company to install a landline, so you can always reach me.”
There was still a fair amount left from the 1,000 yuan from last time, and getting a landline was a must.
“Isn’t that too much trouble?”
Zhang Qiufeng felt it was a bit overboard. She wasn’t a child—what could possibly go wrong at home?
“It’s not troublesome, I won’t feel at ease if we don’t do it.”
This was not up for discussion in Ye Yao’s mind.
