Chapter 34
Ren Hua stuttered as she asked, “Is this a song you just composed? What’s the title?”
Song Haowen thought to himself, since he had already been showing off, he might as well go all the way.
“This song is called ‘Morning on the Campus.’ Somehow, a moment of inspiration struck me just now, and this song unexpectedly came out spontaneously. Sisters, how do you feel about this little impromptu creation of mine?”
“Genius, absolutely a genius! Song Haowen, I love you!” Tian Nana exclaimed, clapping her hands.
Zhu Hongyu immediately corrected Tian Nana’s words. “Nana, you can’t say you love Xiao Songzi so casually. Otherwise, your sister Yuxi won’t forgive you.” As soon as she finished speaking, both Tian Nana and Tian Yuxi blushed profusely.
Ren Hua walked up to Song Haowen, patting his head.
“How much knowledge did you cram in there? You’re so clever and talented; how can us ordinary folks live?”
Song Haowen’s head was tingling from Ren Hua’s gentle touch. He immediately pushed her hand away and said, “If you keep patting my head, I’ll turn into an idiot.”
The four girls burst into laughter, leaving Song Haowen red-faced.
Tian Nana walked up to Song Haowen, lightly patting his face, and coquettishly said, “Little brother, can I sing this song?”
Before Song Haowen could respond, Ren Hua interjected, “Still calling him ‘little brother’! It gives me goosebumps.”
Tian Nana, undeterred, said, “What’s the big deal! In the entertainment industry, everyone calls each other like this.”
Tian Yuxi smiled and said, “My little sister’s way of addressing him is quite unique, much more elegant than this sister’s ‘Xiao Songzi.'”
Zhu Hongyu also smiled and said, “Well, he’s younger than us by so much, we can only harazz him as we please. Whatever we want to call him, we’ll call him.”
Song Haowen chuckled helplessly. “It’s not fair, if this continues, I’ll have to think about giving you all nicknames.”
“You dare!” Ren Hua exclaimed, her beautiful eyes widening. “If you dare give us nicknames, we’ll spread the title of ‘Little Songzi’ all over the school!”
“Alright, I surrender. Consider me afraid of you. Call me whatever you want, as long as you’re happy.”
Tian Yuxi made a funny face at Song Haowen and then burst into laughter.
Continuing from the previous question, Tian Nana asked, “Little brother, do you agree to let me sing the song?”
Song Haowen retorted, “If it’s not you, who will?”
“Waiter, please bring a pen and paper.”
Song Haowen took the pen and paper, immediately started to write on the dining table. He first wrote the musical notation, then filled in the lyrics and handed it to Tian Nana.
Tian Nana eagerly took the song, her face is burning with excitement. her skin translucent like agate. The other three girls looked at her with envy, motionless.
After looking at the sheet music, Tian Nana sang it lightly twice, furrowed her brows in thought for a moment, then looked at Song Haowen with her beautiful eyes and tentatively said, “This song is cheerful and lively, full of youthful vitality. If sung alone, it feels like something is off, lacking lively atmosphere of the campus. If it’s changed to a group performance or a male-female duet, wouldn’t it be even better?”
Listening to Tian Nana’s words, Song Haowen was secretly surprised, feeling that she was quite extraordinary to analyze the song so accurately. Indeed, as she mentioned, in his past life, when Wang and Xie sang this song together, the effect was much better than a solo performance.
“Well, your idea is not bad. Find a male student at school to practice with and see how it works.”
“A male student?” Tian Nana thought for a moment, and suddenly her eyes lit up. “Little brother, how about singing it together with me? I think your singing skills are not worse than those of professionals.”
“I think it’s a good idea,” Tian Yuxi immediately expressed her approval. Zhu Hongyu and Ren Hua also thought it was a good plan.
“No, no. I can’t sing well enough for a grand stage,” Song Haowen hastily vetoed.
Tian Nana, without seeking Song Haowen’s opinion, grabbed his hand and pulled him along.
“Everyone, follow me. I heard from a classmate that this restaurant has a small music room equipped with a piano, drums, and some other instruments. Let’s find the manager and see if we can borrow it.”
As the group approached the bar, the waitress immediately recognized Tian Nana and took out paper and pen, asking for her autograph. Tian Yuxi took the opportunity to bring up the request to use the music room. The waitress readily agreed and personally led them there.
Tian Nana played the sheet music on the piano, getting a feel for it, and then started to hum softly. She used a pen to mark a few places on the score, designating parts for male-female duets.
Song Haowen was very familiar with this song. As he watched Tian Nana handle the song, it was exactly the same as his past life. He couldn’t help but marvel at the magic of music. At the unanimous request, he and Tian Nana rehearsed the song together, and the result was surprisingly good.
“This song can be submitted to the school,” Zhu Hongyu said.
Ren Hua asked, “How do we submit it? Do we just hand over the sheet music and let the school deal with it?”
Tian Yuxi disagreed. “In my opinion, submitting the sheet music directly may not be well received by those who aren’t music enthusiasts. It’s better to have it recorded as a record or on a tape at the Music Academy first and then submit it to the school. The response will be much better that way.”
Tian Nana glanced at Song Haowen and said, “Little brother, you have to be willing to spend some time. Producing this record isn’t a one or two-day job.”
