Lin Yuan also drove a long way with Sheng Xiao, but she still felt something was off.

She turned her head to look at the man driving, his eyes fixed on the road. “Sheng Xiao, how did you know that Qin Lu and Yaoyao were going the same way?”

Sheng Xiao took her small hand in his during a red light. “Men, when they want to go the same way, they can go anywhere.”

He said it casually, but Lin Yuan was confused.

However, Qin Zhuo seemed like a reliable person, decent and civilized. If it had been An Jinghao, even if he lived next door to Mi Yaoyao, Lin Yuan wouldn’t have agreed to get in his car.

She didn’t know that for some men, their appearance was just a layer of dazzling paint. Under that paint, there might be a bottomless black hole, or a completely opposite nature.

Lin Yuan didn’t think about it anymore. “Sheng Xiao, shouldn’t you be working overtime at Shengshi? Why are you passing by here?”

Shengshi and the CLUB were on opposite sides of the city.

Sheng Xiao didn’t expect her to react so quickly. He had been focused on getting her out of there, and had overlooked this question. He habitually touched her head, pulled her closer, and kissed her brow. His tone was playful. “What, don’t you want to see me sooner?”

Lin Yuan was most vulnerable to Sheng Xiao’s teasing. She pursed her lips, a little shy, and kissed him back. “Of course I do. Yaoyao even said I was smitten.”

Since marrying Sheng Xiao, she had hardly had any time to meet with friends and colleagues. As soon as she got off work, she would rush home to cook for Sheng Xiao. After dinner, they would cuddle up and watch a movie or take a walk downstairs.

It was satisfying and comfortable.
