Chapter 5: Let Me Hug You (2/2)
Both were punished to stand in front of the podium.
Shen Lingyao, fuming, secretly took out paper and pen from her pocket and wrote a note to Zhao Qingfeng, “Brother Qingfeng, just back and you’ve already got me punished, wait and see how I’ll deal with you today! (╬◣д◢)”
Zhao Qingfeng, not to be outdone,
Wrote something on the note in return.
Shen Lingyao’s face quickly turned red.
She stomped on Zhao Qingfeng’s foot, crumpled the note, and threw it away, landing on Zhang Yang’s desk.
Zhang Yang opened it, laughed foolishly, and gave Zhao Qingfeng a thumbs up.
The note read, “Hitting is intimacy and scolding is love, you hitting me means you have me in your heart, haha (???)/!”
Old Yan glared at Zhang Yang and threw a piece of chalk at him, “Zhang Yang, you three, truly good friends living in the same residential compound, you stand up too, punished!”
………………..
Time flew by.
In a blink,
The school bell rang for dismissal.
As Zhao Qingfeng was packing his bag, Shen Lingyao had already stepped out of the classroom.
He thought she was shy, regretting that he had teased her too much.
“Brother Zhao, let’s go to the internet cafe, play a game of Red Alert, no building Kirovs, OK?”
Zhang Yang was a complete internet addict. In his previous life, his addiction to online gaming had cost him his college entrance exam and affected his entire life.
“No, I have to go home now and explain to my mom about dropping out of school, we’ll go some other time.”
Zhao Qingfeng picked up his bag and walked ahead, not letting Zhang Yang go to the internet cafe.
Their three families lived in the beer factory staff quarters not far from No. 2 Middle School.
Zhao Qingfeng’s father had been a worker in the factory, and his mother was a temporary worker there.
Shen Lingyao’s father was the office director, and her mother was a housewife.
Only Zhang Yang’s family had no one working in the factory; his parents were farmers who moved to the city to open a small eatery for their child’s education, renting a place in the residential building.
“Zhang Yang, when we used to stay overnight at the internet cafe, I often sneaked snacks and drinks from your family’s eatery, I’ll pay you back properly this time.”
Reaching the ground floor and thinking of how his best friend had passed away just as he was starting to make it in his previous life, Zhao Qingfeng still felt unsettled.
“Huh?”
There were too many students around, and Zhang Yang didn’t hear clearly. Suddenly, he pointed at the wall near the girls’ bathroom and laughed, “Hahaha, brother Zhao, look, why is there a huge pig’s head pasted near the toilet?”
Zhao Qingfeng looked over.
Indeed, next to the school’s back door near the girls’ bathroom, there was a gigantic pig’s head poster with his name on it.
He thought it was some jealous rival’s doing.
Just as he was about to go tear it down, he heard a series of crisp bike bells, accompanied by giggles, coming from behind.
“Let you bully me, this is what you get!”
Shen Lingyao imitated Zhao Qingfeng’s usual demeanor, arrogantly raising her eyebrows, unnatural, yet extremely cute.
“Hey ya!”
Zhao Qingfeng almost laughed out loud, “Yaoyao, you asked for this, drawing me as a pig’s head, right? Fine, then today you can take this pig home!”
With that,
He unhesitatingly hopped onto the back seat of Miss Shen Lingyao’s bike, his hands nervously, happily, and greedily wrapping around her slender waist.
“Get down!”
Shen Lingyao hadn’t expected Zhao Qingfeng to be so shameless today.
They had carried each other on their bikes before, but always with a look of disgust. What was up with him today?
Could it be he finally realized he couldn’t live without me?
If he was serious, she might give him a chance (????)…
But she quickly dismissed the thought, blushing.
Brother Qingfeng, that silly head, probably doesn’t understand what liking someone means…
After all, she had been so obvious, and yet he still treated her like he’s her brother…
He was still the same in class that afternoon, so mean to her, he must still be the same old him!
However, Zhao Qingfeng, clinging like glue, not only held on tightly but also greedily sniffed Shen Lingyao’s hair.
If Shen Lingyao could see Zhao Qingfeng’s expression, she would find him ecstatic, his eyes already slightly moist, unwilling to let go, as if he was experiencing immense happiness.
Zhang Yang was also stunned.
According to brother Zhao’s usual behavior, shouldn’t he have deflated Shen Lingyao’s bike tires and run away laughing loudly?
And Shen Lingyao was also acting strangely, not turning back to hit him hard.
“Hey! Slow down! Wait for me! I haven’t got on yet!”
Seeing Shen Lingyao riding off blushing, Zhang Yang hurried to catch up on his bike.
As soon as he got alongside her, Shen Lingyao lifted her leg and kicked his front wheel, causing him to fall over.
“Dead Zhang Yang, that’s what you get for getting me in trouble this afternoon!”
