Chapter 12: Chasing the Same Person in Different Timelines

The two stood at the doorway for a while. Finally, Bai Hui stepped aside, and Xu Chunian walked in. Before she could take in the changes in the house, she was drawn to a small figure by the sofa.

“Zhuzhu?”

She looked at the little one sitting on a small stool, building blocks, with surprise.

Zhuzhu looked up, her big, dark eyes shifting from calm to fear.

Before she could get closer, Bai Hui stood in front of Zhuzhu. “Huaixu is busy with work, so he left Zhuzhu here with us for now. Zhuzhu is very well-behaved. She won’t be a bother. Don’t… you…”

Xu Chunian knew roughly what her 24-year-old self was like, but it was still a surprise that her own mother was guarding her so closely.

She mentally scolded herself twice.

“Zhuzhu, Grandpa is finished.” A deep, powerful voice came from the study as the door opened.

“Daddy!” Xu Chunian rushed forward again, but was bounced back by her father’s soft belly. She pinched his stomach. “Old Xu, what’s going on? Why are you so pot-bellied?”

Xu Zhen stumbled back from the sudden impact. When he saw who it was, he frowned. “Why are you back?”

“Dad, I’m your precious daughter.” Xu Chunian couldn’t get used to it. Just a few days ago, he was secretly slipping her cards, but now he was acting impatient.

Xu Zhen looked up at Bai Hui, who shook her head at him.

“Okay, okay. Let me get a drink.” Xu Zhen pulled her away.

Xu Chunian pouted and went to Zhuzhu’s side.

Zhuzhu clenched her small hand tightly, her body trembling slightly.

“Niannian, Huaixu is on a business trip, and Zhuzhu has no one to look after her, so he sent her over. This is Zhuzhu’s first time here. You know, those people from the Jiang family aren’t reliable. Xu Chunian watched her mother’s careful explanation and Zhuzhu’s head lowered, looking like she had done something wrong, and felt a pang of sadness. She gently hugged Bai Hui. “Mom, you might not believe me, but I had a very long nightmare. In my dream, I was always bullying Zhuzhu, and I wasn’t nice to you and Dad either. When I woke up, I couldn’t remember anything, so I came here.”

If she said she was 18 years old and had traveled through time, she would definitely be considered crazy. So, she would just say she had postpartum depression and treat everything as a nightmare.

She really wanted to see what Qin Yuan was like, to see what made her so infatuated with him.

Bai Hui let go of her and hesitated before asking, “Tell me, what are you thinking now?”

Xu Chunian pouted and said flippantly, “What else can I do? I’m going to chase my husband back from the fiery abyss. I’m going to win back my husband and child.”
