Lingering Game
Lingering Game chapter 26

Jing Tian found himself in a state that was both muddled and clear-headed.

He vaguely knew what was about to happen but felt bewildered by it.

He neither anticipated nor resented it.

As Zheng Xunqian’s hand traced down his spine, his skin, covered by the flow of water, trembled slightly.

He seemed a little afraid, yet unwilling to resist.

His lips remained pressed against Zheng Xunqian’s, and besides saliva that didn’t belong to him, he also tasted a hint of warm water in his mouth.

The water prevented him from opening his eyes, and in the pitch darkness, he reached out his hands, clinging tightly to Zheng Xunqian’s neck, allowing their bodies to be pressed together completely.

Zheng Xunqian’s originally neat clothes were thoroughly soaked by the water, becoming disheveled.

And he was naked.

He began to feel uncomfortable.

It was too hot, his head was spinning, his body lacked strength, as if he were suffocating.

But soon, he was awakened by the sudden chill.

His back was pressed against the tiled wall of the bathroom.

Compared to body temperature, the tiles were cold, hard, and uncomfortable.

But there were also good things about it; the water no longer brushed against his facial skin, allowing him to open his eyes and breathe fresh air easily.

Zheng Xunqian was completely soaked too.

His bangs stuck to his forehead, droplets of water hung on his skin, even his eyelashes were wet.

Jing Tian looked at him foolishly and inexplicably said, “Smile for me.”

Zheng Xunqian seemed a bit puzzled by this request, but still lifted the corners of his lips slightly.

It didn’t look much like a smile, a bit stiff, not quite the same as the one Jing Tian liked the most.

But Jing Tian became very happy.

He laughed foolishly at Zheng Xunqian, chuckled, and then kissed his lips again.

………….

Having two beds was necessary.

When one bed was wet and messy due to the soaked sheets and blankets, they still had another clean and tidy bed to use.

Narrow single beds also had their advantages, making it convenient for them to naturally cuddle together.

Jing Tian still couldn’t discern whether his current daze was due to alcohol or fatigue.

He was very tired, both mentally and physically.

But he didn’t want to sleep.

With his eyes closed, his thoughts couldn’t flow smoothly, yet he still wanted to say something, do something.

What they had just done made him unable to suppress his excitement.

“Your clothes are all wet, what are we going to do tomorrow?” he asked.

Zheng Xunqian shook his head, “I don’t know.”

Jing Tian chuckled, “You’re really clueless.”

“No one has ever said that to me.”

“That makes me special, doesn’t it?”

Zheng Xunqian smiled softly, “Yes.”

Jing Tian also became happy, moving closer and pressing even tighter against Zheng Xunqian.

“You can go hang them up now,” he suggested to Zheng Xunqian.

“…Don’t want to.”

“Why?”

Zheng Xunqian didn’t answer, just tightened his arm around him a little more.

“I know, you can’t bear to leave me.”

Jing Tian said.

After saying that, he stupidly smiled to himself.

Zheng Xunqian remained silent, and he didn’t mind.

He still wanted to say something else.

He thought about it seriously until all consciousness gradually melted away in the warm embrace.

A gentle touch on his forehead, someone whispered goodnight in his ear.

Jing Tian responded in his heart, goodnight, I wish you sweet dreams.

He found himself in a place that was both familiar and unfamiliar in his dream.

Bright lights, neatly arranged tables and chairs, and peculiar experimental equipment.

All the students sat quietly in their seats, looking towards his direction with raised heads.

He stood in front of the podium, at a loss.

Beside him came the voice of a middle-aged man, “Tell me, what are the specific reasons for giving Zheng Xunqian 32 points?”

Jing Tian blinked, pursed his lips, and remained silent.

There were whispers and giggles from the audience.

“Why aren’t you saying anything?” the middle-aged man asked again.

Jing Tian turned his head to look at him, and whispered, “Made it up.”

“And you dare to say it out loud?” the middle-aged man scolded.

Jing Tian thought, you asked for it yourself.

He frowned, sneaking a glance at the corner of the classroom near the window.

“You deducted twenty points here; you didn’t even write any reasons?” the middle-aged man shook the paper in his hand. “Are they all made up?”

“…Yeah.”

Jing Tian reluctantly admitted.

“Now, in front of everyone, reevaluate and judge according to the standards. What should the score be?” the middle-aged man asked.

Jing Tian furrowed his brows, innocently saying, “How would I know? My level is only 35 points.”

“You still dare to say!” The middle-aged man was amused by him. “Everyone is attending the same class, why do you have 35 points?”

Jing Tian secretly moved to the other side to hide.

At the same time, his gaze still fell on the window.

Zheng Xunqian was still smiling, with a hint of helplessness in his expression, shaking his head slightly.

The voice of the middle-aged man gradually became distant, and the whole world began to blur.

Only Zheng Xunqian was clear, bright.

Jing Tian didn’t dare to look anymore, lowered his head, trying to suppress his unnatural heartbeat.

The noise was too loud, making him anxious, embarrassed, and at a loss, wanting to escape immediately but reluctant to leave.

It’s nice, he thought, Zheng Xunqian smiled at him.

Jing Tian opened his eyes, and the face he had just seen in his dream appeared before him.

Unlike in the dream, Zheng Xunqian had his eyes closed.

They were very close, and Jing Tian could see the tiny lines and flaws on his skin, could clearly distinguish each of his eyelashes.

Jing Tian blinked, feeling dazed.

His head throbbed faintly, and a strong discomfort prevented him from thinking.

Before he could figure out what was happening before him, he had a strangely familiar feeling amidst his confusion.

This scene that surprised him greatly seemed like something he had seen before.

As he tried to recall, his hungover brain protested strongly, causing him to involuntarily gasp and reach for his forehead.

Zheng Xunqian’s eyelashes trembled slightly at this small movement, and then he opened his eyes.

Jing Tian stared at him blankly.

Zheng Xunqian looked very different from usual, his eyes hazy, his brows slightly furrowed, appearing a bit confused.

Without his usual handsomeness, but also seeming somewhat cute.

Jing Tian thought somewhat absentmindedly that Zheng Xunqian’s hair seemed a bit messy, perhaps he slept before it dried completely after washing.

Then, his face flushed.

He finally came to his senses, realizing what had happened last night.

A large amount of alcohol had made him lose his judgment, become impulsive, irrational, uncontrollable, completely off track.

He didn’t resist Zheng Xunqian’s kisses, and even reached out to hug Zheng Xunqian’s neck.

In the bathroom, he cooperated fully, thoroughly opened his body, and was intoxicated by the intimacy.

Just on the other bed less than a meter away, they were reluctant to part and had a second round together.

Before and after they started, they repeatedly kissed each other, still cuddled together when falling asleep, skin against skin, sharing body heat.

Until now.

Jing Tian suddenly exclaimed without warning, sitting up abruptly.

Then, he gasped again, his whole body stiffening.

It hurt.

His head, shoulders, back, and some indescribable place all sent strange discomfort.

He was stunned for a few seconds, then hurriedly pulled up the blanket to cover his completely naked body at the moment.

The blanket for the single bed was not big enough.

He managed to cover himself sitting up, so Zheng Xunqian was forced to be completely exposed.

Jing Tian widened his eyes and inexplicably shouted again.

Zheng Xunqian frowned, rubbed his temples, and muttered softly, “It’s so noisy.”

Jing Tian sat dumbfounded, clutching the blanket, feeling at a loss.

Zheng Xunqian soon breathed a sigh of relief, vigorously rubbed his face, and also sat up.

“Feeling uncomfortable?” he asked.

Jing Tian blinked twice, neither nodding nor shaking his head, unable to speak.

There was a deep red mark on the left side of Zheng Xunqian’s neck, and there was one on his collarbone too.

Because of the pulling just now, the blanket was barely covering the upper part of his thighs, leaving most of his body exposed to the air.

Jing Tian silently repeated in his mind, don’t look, don’t look, don’t look.

He forced himself to look away, but soon couldn’t help but sneak a peek.

After glancing for half a second, he looked again.

Zheng Xunqian just thought he was restless, reached out, tidied up his messy hair, and said, “If you’re uncomfortable, lie down for a while longer.”

When faced with an extremely difficult scene to digest, people would want to escape.

Jing Tian opened his mouth, then closed it, his eyes wandering around in panic. Then, suddenly, he blurted out, “Do we have class this morning…?”

“Seems like it, but it’s too late now,” Zheng Xunqian said, “Anyway, even if you go, you might not understand it. I’ll catch you up later.”

“Worried about too many absences?” Zheng Xunqian asked.

Jing Tian hadn’t even thought of that, but now nodded vigorously.

Zheng Xunqian sighed, turned around, and took a look at his phone on the bedside table. “Well, nothing we can do about it, class is almost over.”

He said, then put down his phone, and rubbed Jing Tian’s head, “Sleep a little longer, or should I call for some food first.”

Jing Tian still sat there dazedly.

Zheng Xunqian stared at him for a moment, frowned, and asked, “Don’t you remember what happened?”

Jing Tian swallowed hard, nodded inexplicably.
