Chapter 67: The Golden Snake Demon King x The Fierce Beast Qiongqi 01
System Space.
The blue-clad youth appeared as lightly as a breeze, surrounded by a gentle aura.
His features were exquisitely delicate yet strikingly beautiful, his face carrying an indescribable innocence. However, when his eyes flickered, they exuded a soul-stealing, demonic charm.
Perhaps, he was a demon spirit to begin with.
Lu Yan, originally a deer demon who cultivated into a deer immortal, still couldn’t shed the inherent seductiveness and allure that lay deep within his bones, even after becoming a celestial demon.
He glanced at the small silver-gray light ball beside him, his peach blossom eyes as clear as morning dew causing the system’s data chain to pause for a moment.
【Host, please don’t stare at me like that, I really can’t handle it!!!】
It was just a small system, unable to resist temptation. Every time it saw the host’s true appearance, it felt an overwhelming urge to offer everything to him.
This wouldn’t do. It had worked so hard to earn points and build its gaming empire—it couldn’t just give them away!
Lu Yan helplessly averted his gaze, “Let’s talk. You went to the previous world and never returned. What exactly did you ask my sister?”
System 729 fluttered its six wings, trying its best to appear mature and composed.
【As soon as I asked, your sister was delighted. She dragged me into a thorough interrogation of your romantic history, leaving me parched and utterly exhausted.】
The power of gossip was truly overwhelming.
Lu Yan smiled faintly, his lively peach blossom eyes shimmering with breathtaking beauty.
“My sister hasn’t changed.”
“Since she finished questioning you, did she tell you about the Dragon Demon God?”
System 729: 【Immortal Lu Xi said a lot, but I think you’ve probably heard most of it.】
【As you know, before the Celestial Realm existed, the entire Mystic Ruins World was dominated by the Divine Realm. The other five realms only emerged after the Divine Realm was sealed away and disappeared. The Demon God Zhu Ming is one of the survivors of the Divine Realm.】
【Most of the ancient deities vanished with the Divine Realm, with only a few escaping, such as the two who created the Asura Realm and the Netherworld, and another who went into seclusion in Zhangwei Mountain—the Demon God.】
【Legends say that Zhu Long possesses a majestic appearance, immense supernatural powers, and can achieve immortality without eating or drinking. Moreover, he has an immortal body.】
Ancient texts record: Beyond the Northwest Sea, north of the Red River, lies Zhangwei Mountain. There resides a deity with a human face and a serpent’s body, red in color, with vertical eyes that bring darkness when closed and light when open. He neither eats nor sleeps nor rests, summoning wind and rain with his will. This is Zhu Long.
Lu Yan lowered his gaze slightly, revealing his snow-white neck.
“I do know. The story of the Demon God is a legend that spreads across every corner of the demon realm, though no one in the demon realm has seen him for a long time.”
He said softly, “From my birth until now, it has been 120,000 years, and I’ve only heard of him but never seen him. Yet, I never imagined I’d have such a deep connection with him.”
Having loved and followed him through three lifetimes, Lu Yan was no unfeeling plant—how could he remain unmoved?
He fell silent for a long time, then suddenly looked up at the starry sky within the system space.
“System, I never wanted to get involved in love, but I can’t forget the time I spent with him, and I miss the days we were together.”
“Since childhood, I’ve been the young master of the deer clan, cherished by my parents and respected by my clan. After enduring trials for millennia, I ascended to immortality and trained diligently in hopes of achieving enlightenment. I joined the Quick Transmigration Bureau to accumulate merits.”
He sighed with a hint of emotion, “I’m clearly a deeply career-oriented immortal, yet I ended up encountering a dragon whose mind is filled with nothing but love.”
System 729: 【So, you…】
Lu Yan twirled a strand of hair by his ear, his eyes rippling like autumn water.
“I think sometimes going with the flow and letting nature take its course isn’t a bad approach.”
System 729: Going with the flow and letting nature take its course—essentially, you still want to keep the Demon God around? Could it be that the host has truly fallen for him?
Lu Yan smiled faintly, “If he comes, then it’s fate. If he doesn’t, then it’s heaven’s will that we are not meant to be.”
“System, let’s move on to the next world.”
System 729 quickly selected a task and teleported Lu Yan over.
The Desolate Land.
Crows cawed everywhere, the moonlight mostly obscured by floating clouds, leaving only rows of vultures flying by.
In the yellow sand lay a severely injured, beautiful male demon, his bloodied legs barely maintaining their human form.
Moments later, the young man’s legs transformed into a serpent’s tail, thrashing wildly against the ground.
As soon as Lu Yan entered this world, he faced a near-death, catastrophic beginning—his demon core had already been extracted.
He lay in the sand, his serpent tail swaying, while his mind absorbed the original host’s memories.
The memories, however, were brief.
The original host was named Su Yang, a golden snake demon less than five hundred years old, naive by nature but exploited to the last ounce of his worth by the female lead.
His parents were the Demon King and Queen of the demon realm, making him the rightful prince of the demon realm. However, due to the Celestial Realm’s ambitions, they met a tragic end.
The Celestial Realm kidnapped the pregnant Demon Queen, intending to force the Golden Snake Demon King to submit. But things went awry.
The Green Snake Demon Queen, unwilling to let the demon race become pawns of the Celestial Realm, committed suicide in the celestial prison. Even in death, she was not spared.
The Celestial Emperor ordered the general to cut open the Demon Queen’s abdomen and retrieve the golden snake egg, using her body and the egg as leverage to force the Demon King’s surrender.
The Golden Snake Demon King feigned submission, hoping to reclaim his wife and child and seek revenge on the Celestial Realm. But he underestimated the Celestial Realm’s treachery.
They ambushed the Demon King first, sending him to join his wife in death, and installed a pro-Celestial ox demon as the new Demon King.
The Green Snake Demon Queen and the Golden Snake Demon King both perished due to the Celestial Realm’s greed, and their only child became a captive.
The golden snake egg was not destroyed but given to the Celestial Emperor’s youngest daughter, Princess Zi Ni, as a plaything. This princess, the female lead of this world, was the source of all Su Yang’s suffering.
Su Yang was kept in a cage even before hatching, only emerging when he broke out of the shell at two hundred years old.
The first person he saw was Princess Zi Ni, whom he regarded as the most important person in his life.
But Princess Zi Ni treated him like a dog.
She would play with him when she felt like it, and let others humiliate and beat him when she didn’t.
She always watched as others bullied Su Yang, only to step in afterward and act as the savior, molding him into her most loyal servant.
No one had ever been kind to Su Yang, and Princess Zi Ni’s occasional kindness became the only sweetness in his life.
Princess Zi Ni, whose true form was a white tea flower, became Su Yang’s white moonlight.
Thus, he obeyed her every command, even taking the blame for her lover’s cannibalism and having his demon core extracted to save her lover.
Su Yang, the cannon fodder and backup for the female lead, was destined to pave the way for the male and female leads’ love story. His life and death were inconsequential.
The male lead, using Su Yang’s demon core, devoured an entire city’s population but still had Su Yang take the blame, allowing him to roam freely with the female lead across the three realms.
But Su Yang was sentenced, had his demon core removed, and was abandoned in the desolate land to fend for himself—essentially left there to die.
This was the state Lu Yan found himself in upon arrival.
The original host’s fate was clear—without his demon core, he couldn’t survive, and this desolate land would become his burial ground.
