Chapter 100: Gentle Human x Fierce Wolf Beast 12
The outskirts of a desolate mountain.
Jian Tong parked the aircraft at the mountain peak and then dragged the unconscious Xi Jing out of the vehicle. Ning Si, who was on the verge of vomiting, followed closely behind.
The beastmen who had been stationed around the desolate mountain had already transformed into their animal forms and were hiding in the surroundings. Their monitoring devices recorded every move of the three individuals in front.
They were the bodyguards arranged by Li Xiao and Cheng Jun, both to protect the lady and to prevent any unexpected complications.
Ning Si leaned against a tree trunk for a while before walking over to Xi Jing and slapping him awake.
“Wake up, stop fucking sleeping!”
Xi Jing groggily woke up, and as soon as he opened his eyes, he saw two familiar faces.
“Jian Tong, Ning Si… why are you guys here?”
Jian Tong raised the reinforced badminton racket in his hand and coldly smacked it against Xi Jing’s head.
“Why are we here? That’s the question we should be asking you!” He kicked Xi Jing in the abdomen, thoroughly waking him up.
“You can’t treat me like this…” Xi Jing trembled as he looked at the two people on either side of him. “We’re all humans, countrymen shouldn’t screw over countrymen.”
Ning Si directly swung the racket at him, showing no mercy. “Countrymen? You still remember we’re countrymen! When you pushed me into that black hole, why didn’t you think about us being countrymen!”
“I was your manager for three years! Even if I didn’t do much, I still put in effort! And this is how you repay me? Pushing me to my death!”
He rolled up his sleeves and squatted down, his eyes behind the glasses glaring fiercely at Xi Jing.
“You damn idiot! Do you know how much I wanted to stab you to death when I fell into the sea and almost became fish food?!”
Ning Si clenched his fist and delivered a heavy punch to Xi Jing’s face. “I’ve been wanting to hit you for a long time, you shameless bitch!”
He swung the racket at Xi Jing’s face, specifically targeting his face and nowhere else.
Jian Tong watched in stunned silence, temporarily giving the enraged Ning Si the space to vent.
After all, Xi Jing wasn’t going anywhere, and today Ning Si was determined to beat him to a pulp.
Ning Si angrily kicked Xi Jing. “I just bought a house with full payment and hadn’t even had the chance to move in, and you ruined everything!”
His parents in the 21st century had already divorced and started new families with new children, so he wasn’t too worried about them. What he was most concerned about was the big house he had just bought but never lived in!
“All the money I worked so hard to earn, because of you, it’s all gone!”
He was so angry his chest hurt. “From the moment I graduated, I kept working and saving money. Finally, in my thirties, I managed to buy my own house and car, and you fucking set me back to square one!”
He had just achieved financial freedom, with money and a house, and now it was all gone.
Who wouldn’t be devastated by that?
“Ah!” Xi Jing covered his head and tried to flee, but he was too weak to fight back.
“If you’re willing to reveal your pure human identity, there are plenty of beastmen who would be willing to give you money. Why obsess over that house?!”
Ning Si’s face darkened with rage, his anger spreading like wildfire.
“Is a house I worked hard to buy myself the same as one given by a beastman?!”
“Not everyone is like you, looking to cling to someone powerful!”
If it weren’t for saving his own life, he would never have gotten together with Cheng Jun.
Although he was gay in the 21st century, he never thought about finding a beastman partner, especially not such a fierce and cunning lion beast.
“Ahhh! Help!”
Xi Jing was beaten up again by Ning Si, so miserably that even the beastmen monitoring them couldn’t help but gasp in shock, their eyes wide with astonishment.
So tragic! It was truly tragic!
Jian Tong stared at Xi Jing rolling on the ground, and suddenly, his hazy memories became clear. The memories of the original host resurfaced in his mind.
The original host was born in a northern city, where his parents ran a modest traditional Chinese medicine shop. The couple had only one child, the original host.
The original host’s life was like most people’s—studying, growing up peacefully. His only act of rebellion was defying his parents to learn dance, for which he was even beaten by them.
But the original host stuck to his decision, and eventually, the couple had to compromise.
They agreed to let their son learn dance and even apply to art schools for dance.
However, the original host had to balance his studies with learning traditional Chinese medicine from his parents, and he managed to excel in both dance and medicine.
The original host did well in the college entrance exams and could have attended a prestigious medical university, but he resolutely chose a dance school instead.
That year, he was eighteen.
It was also during that summer after the college entrance exams that he learned to drive and got his license, though he never had the chance to actually drive.
Life at university was peaceful and beautiful. The original host shone in the field he loved, and his parents gradually came to understand his choice.
All these memories were the same, but the problem lay in the car accident involving his parents.
The original memories only mentioned that after his parents died in the car accident, the original host went through the pain of losing loved ones but eventually regained his composure and returned to school and the stage. However, this version detailed the previously vague parts.
When Mr. and Mrs. Jian were in the car accident, the original host was also there. His parents protected him with their own bodies, saving his life, but he lost them forever.
From then on, the original host not only dared not drive but also worsened his sense of direction.
Originally, he just couldn’t adapt to unfamiliar environments but could still navigate places he had lived in for a long time and wouldn’t get lost in familiar areas.
Later, it developed to the point where he couldn’t even find his way in the most familiar neighborhood or the traditional Chinese medicine shop. Even in the residential building he had lived in for twenty years, he would get lost and often couldn’t find his own home.
He had no choice but to write down his home address and carry it in his bag every day. He always went to class with his classmates and, after graduation, went to work with his colleagues every time.
The original host chose to sign with a company and become Xi Jing’s backup dancer because the company provided transportation services, so he didn’t have to struggle to find the venues himself.
This was also the main reason he had cooperated with the company for three years and planned to continue the partnership.
He never expected to be dragged by Xi Jing into the beast world, where he got lost in the primitive forest for three days and eventually died in the endless forest, his body becoming food for wild beasts.
The original host’s resentment was likely not just because he got lost and died in the beast’s belly but also because he could never return home or pay respects to his parents.
He died without anyone knowing, unable to even look at his parents’ photos one last time…
