Chapter 17: Why Be So Handsome If You’re Not Doing Anything With It?
“Youyou, is your marriage not genuine?”
Jian Hongyou tapped her forehead.
“You’re getting smarter.”
“I wasn’t stupid to begin with.”
Tang Zazan retorted, dissatisfied.
Jian Hongyou smiled and explained her partnership with Yu Nanzheng.
“We got married for our own reasons.”
Tang Zazan still didn’t understand. “Yu Nanzheng just needs a marriage partner, couldn’t he find someone else? Why you?”
“Yu Nanzheng probably chose me because I wouldn’t have any feelings for him. If it were someone else, they’d fall for his face in no time. He probably doesn’t want that kind of trouble.”
Jian Hongyou thought this explanation fit Yu Nanzheng perfectly. He must have thought this way, which is why he married her.
Tang Zazan tilted her head, her intuition telling her it wasn’t that simple.
“Did you sign an agreement? When are you planning to end this contractual marriage?”
Jian Hongyou was taken aback.
“No. When Yu Nanzheng finds a woman he likes, he’ll probably bring it up himself. I was the one who approached him, it’s good enough that he agreed to help me, I don’t have that many demands.”
“But there should be a deadline, what if he drags you along for life?”
“No way.”
“You never know.”
“It’s fine, in a few years I’ll find him some women, he’ll be happy and divorce me.”
“Heh…”
Tang Zazan still felt something was off.
“Alright, right now, besides clinging to his leg, I have no one else to rely on. If I were to go back to Guan Huai, I wouldn’t want to, a hundred times over, a thousand times over.”
Tang Zazan knew her friend was speaking the truth.
In her current situation, only Yu Nanzheng could help her.
Thinking about it this way, getting married wasn’t so bad.
Jian Hongyou wouldn’t lose out, Yu Nanzheng never won against her back then.
Jian Hongyou picked up an orange from the table, peeled it and popped a segment into her mouth.
“You guys haven’t slept together, right?”
“Cough, cough, cough…”
Jian Hongyou choked.
“Contractual marriage, do you understand what contractual marriage is? Of course not!”
“Oh… a man and a woman living under the same roof, be careful, don’t let him get you.”
But Jian Hongyou’s mind was filled with Yu Nanzheng’s alluring physique.
His firm, toned muscles, broad shoulders, narrow waist, the enticing mermaid line…
She couldn’t help but swallow.
Jian Hongyou felt it was Yu Nanzheng who should be careful.
“Youyou, the internet is full of slander against you, why doesn’t Fengxing speak up for you?”
Jian Hongyou paused for two seconds, then popped another orange segment into her mouth.
“I don’t know, I’ll just have to wait and see.”
In the afternoon, the two of them cooked hot pot in the apartment.
Tang Zazan opened a bottle of red wine.
Jian Hongyou rubbed her hands together, “Fill me up.”
Because of work, she usually didn’t drink, the industry was messy, one wrong move and you’d be caught in someone else’s trap.
Only when she was with Tang Zazan did she let loose and drink.
The two of them drank, ate hot pot, and chatted about everything under the sun.
Soon, the bottle of wine was gone.
Jian Hongyou wasn’t satisfied, she shouted, “Zazan, do you have any more wine?”
“No more red wine, there’s a bottle of white wine.”
“Bring it here!”
Tang Zazan, flushed, wobbled over to the cabinet and brought out a bottle of white wine.
Yu Nanzheng called Liu Butler, learning that Jian Hongyou had gone out at noon and hadn’t returned yet.
Yu Nanzheng glanced at the luxury watch on his wrist.
It was already nine thirty, that woman still hadn’t come home.
Where could she be?
He stood up, leaving a table full of executives, and strode towards the door of the private room.
His secretary, Han Guang, quickly followed.
“President Yu, it’s not good to leave like this.”
Yu Nanzheng paused, turning to look at him.
“I think it’s inappropriate too, so you stay and keep them company.”
Han Guang was speechless.
Yu Nanzheng walked out, pulling out his phone to call Jian Hongyou.
At that moment, Jian Hongyou and Tang Zazan were passed out, sprawled on the table.
The ringing of the phone was jarring.
Jian Hongyou nudged Tang Zazan, “Your phone.”
Tang Zazan mumbled, “Not mine, yours.”
“Oh.”
Jian Hongyou opened her blurry eyes and searched for her phone, finally finding it in the couch cushions.
She swiped the screen a few times before answering the call.
“Hello!”
Yu Nanzheng frowned, “You’ve been drinking?”
Jian Hongyou recognized Yu Nanzheng’s voice.
“Yeah, burp…”
Jian Hongyou burped.
“Where are you?”
“I’m at Zazan’s place, Yu Nanzheng, my head is spinning, I’m not talking to you anymore, I’m hanging up.”
After saying that, Jian Hongyou’s hand loosened, the phone slipped to the floor.
“Hey! Jian Hongyou!”
The call didn’t end, but Jian Hongyou didn’t respond to Yu Nanzheng anymore.
Yu Nanzheng hung up the phone, his face grim as he made another call.
“Find me Tang Zazan’s address, now.”
Soon, Yu Nanzheng’s phone received a message with Tang Zazan’s home address.
Tang Zazan was half-asleep, she felt like her doorbell had been ringing nonstop.
She stood up, swaying as she walked to open the door.
As soon as she opened the door, a gust of wind brushed past her, she turned around in a daze, seeing a very handsome man carrying Jian Hongyou.
She sobered up quite a bit, rushing to stop Yu Nanzheng.
“Who are you? Put down my friend!”
Yu Nanzheng was holding Jian Hongyou, looking at her speechlessly.
“I’m Yu Nanzheng.”
“Yu Nanzheng?”
Tang Zazan sobered up even more.
This super, super handsome man was Yu Nanzheng?
Yu Nanzheng didn’t bother with her, he bent down to pick up Jian Hongyou’s phone, then casually grabbed her bag.
Then he strode out of the apartment.
Old Qin saw Yu Nanzheng carrying Jian Hongyou over, he quickly got out of the car and opened the back door.
Jian Hongyou was sleeping soundly, she didn’t react when Yu Nanzheng carried her into the car.
Yu Nanzheng let her head rest on his legs.
A strand of hair fell over her side face, covering most of it.
Yu Nanzheng reached out, tucking the strand of hair behind her ear.
His fingers lingered, gently brushing over her brows and eyes.
His gaze was undeniably possessive.
Old Qin secretly glanced at the back through the rearview mirror.
He thought to himself: Young Master really loves Madam.
Back at Tanxiyuan No. 1, Yu Nanzheng carried Jian Hongyou upstairs, Old Qin brought her bag into the house and quietly left.
Jian Hongyou was placed on the bed, she let out a soft moan and opened her eyes.
Yu Nanzheng put her down but didn’t step back.
Jian Hongyou smiled, reaching out to touch Yu Nanzheng’s face.
“Why be so handsome if you’re not doing anything with it, it’s tempting fate.”
“Is it?”
Yu Nanzheng responded softly, a captivating smile curving his lips.
Jian Hongyou was mesmerized.
Yu Nanzheng stared at her pink cheeks, Jian Hongyou hadn’t put on any makeup today, her face was bare, the most natural look.
Her skin was smooth and flawless, not a single pore visible, her fox eyes were blurry and seductive from the alcohol, her lips were full and moist.
They were so close, Jian Hongyou unconsciously breathed softly on him.
“Jian Hongyou.”
“Hmm?”
“Wuu…”
