Shocking! A beautiful girl wakes up to find herself with a three-year-old child! Chapter 37

Chapter 37: Arrogance

Provoked repeatedly and her weak points relentlessly targeted, Mrs. Wang raised her hand.

“Then I’ll see just how tough that little mouth of yours is.”

Before the slap landed, her wrist was grabbed. Mrs. Wang, furious, turned to see a cold, icy face.

Though she rarely paid attention to her husband’s work, she had followed financial news and Jiang Huaixu’s name was frequently plastered across major financial headlines.

Mrs. Wang had a bad feeling about this, but she maintained a calm exterior, “Mr. Jiang?”

Jiang Huaixu let go of her hand and walked to Xu Chunian, subtly scanning her from head to toe. “Are you alright?”

Xu Chunian seemed still reeling from his sudden appearance, realizing that the heroine’s feelings in those novels where the male lead suddenly appears, were real.

“I’m fine.”

“Mr. Jiang, I never expected to see you here.” Mrs. Wang instantly changed her demeanor.

“Really?” Jiang Huaixu turned, glancing at her indifferently. “If you hadn’t seen me, would that slap have landed on my wife’s face?”

Mrs. Wang’s forced smile faltered. “So Ms. Xu is Mrs. Jiang. It was just a little dispute between the children, nothing serious. It’s really not worth ruining our mood over something so small.”

Jiang Huaixu’s hand rested lightly on Xu Chunian’s waist.  She flinched slightly, possibly from the injury, and the man’s movement froze as he subtly retracted his hand.

“Are you threatening me?” His voice seemed even colder than before.

Realizing she’d misspoken, Mrs. Wang quickly lowered her stance, “No, Mr. Jiang, it was my fault for overreacting. It’s all because I didn’t teach Haohao properly. I’ll make sure to discipline him when we get home.”

Xu Chunian retorted, “Didn’t you just yell at me pretty fiercely?”

She couldn’t stand her sycophantic attitude.

“What did she say?” Jiang Huaixu’s tone softened noticeably when addressing Xu Chunian.

“Mrs. Jiang, I…”

“My wife is speaking.” Jiang Huaixu’s cold gaze swept over her, casually stating.

Mrs. Wang fell silent.

Xu Chunian, emboldened, spoke up, “She called me a little slut, insulted Zhuzhu, said I was a gold digger, and even pushed me!”

Mrs. Wang’s face paled, “Mrs. Jiang, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know…”

The coldness on Jiang Huaixu’s face intensified. He glanced at his assistant at the door, who nodded in understanding.

Jiang Huaixu stepped forward, scooped up Zhuzhu from the corner, and walked to Xu Chunian. “Let’s go.”

“Mr. Jiang, Mrs. Jiang.”

Mrs. Wang tried to approach, but the assistant stopped her, “Mrs. Wang, you should be careful.”

He then turned and helped Zhuzhu with the leave of absence paperwork.

“Mommy, why should we be scared of them? Just tell Daddy when we get back.” A small boy ran over.

Mrs. Wang was about to scold him when her phone rang.

Her bad premonition intensified. She answered, her question still on her lips.

The voice on the other end was almost piercing, “You idiot! What trouble have you gotten yourself into again? The contract was about to be signed this evening, and now you screwed things up!”

“Honey, I didn’t know. I didn’t know that woman was Jiang Huaixu’s wife.”

“You’re utterly stupid! I told you to keep your head down, but you never listen. That deal worth hundreds of millions just went down the drain. Can you use your brain for once?!”

“Then… what should we do now?” Mrs. Wang finally panicked.

“What else? Apologize immediately! Otherwise, your days as a wealthy wife are over.”

Having risen from humble beginnings, the thought of returning to that life filled Mrs. Wang with dread. She quickly agreed, but the assistant wouldn’t let her get close.

Her son, oblivious, seemed to have no idea that tomorrow would bring a completely different reality.

## 第38章 你……不看吗? (1/2)

At the entrance, Jiang Huaixu set Zhuzhu down, and she climbed into the child seat herself.

Xu Chunian followed and got in the car. As they passed each other, she stepped back, her lower back hitting the car door.

“Sss.” She gasped.

Her expression wasn’t one of disgust. Jiang Huaixu furrowed his brows, “What’s wrong?”

Xu Chunian tried to rub her waist, “I bumped into a table corner earlier.”

Jiang Huaixu instinctively reached out, “Let me see.”

But he stopped when his fingers brushed against her clothes.

Xu Chunian maintained her position, seeing that he wasn’t moving. She tilted her head up to look at him, “You… aren’t going to look?”

Jiang Huaixu finally pursed his lips and lifted her clothes. Xu Chunian’s skin was fair, her waist soft and firm, and there was a red mark on the small of her back.

“Did you hit it when you were pushed?” The man’s voice held no discernible emotion.

Xu Chunian nodded, “It’s fine. It should go down soon.”

“Does it hurt?”

“It doesn’t hurt anymore. I’ll just put some ointment on it later when I get back.”

The man finally lowered her clothes and went around to the driver’s seat.

“That.” Xu Chunian suddenly spoke up, “Just find an amusement park and drop us off.”

Jiang Huaixu glanced at her through the rearview mirror, then changed lanes.

The amusement park’s giant castle sign was luxurious and dreamy, and the mascots at the entrance warmly embraced every child.

When Zhuzhu was carried out of the car, her eyes were fixed on the adorable mascots.

Xu Chunian crouched in front of her, “Do you want to shake hands with them?”

Zhuzhu was a little timid, her big, watery eyes looking up at her.

Xu Chunian led her to the mascots. A bear in a tuxedo bowed to them, extending his hand to Zhuzhu.

Zhuzhu placed her small hand in his.

The bear, as if by magic, pulled out a miniature bear keychain from behind his back and placed it in Zhuzhu’s hand. Then, he extended his hand to Xu Chunian.

Before Xu Chunian could reach out, Zhuzhu was lifted into someone’s arms.

Xu Chunian looked up at him, “Aren’t you going to the company?”

“No.” He bounced Zhuzhu slightly, “Let’s go.”

“Alright.”

Xu Chunian left the bewildered bear standing there and followed them.

After entering the park,

Zhuzhu was set down, and Xu Chunian helped her put away her little toy.

Xu Chunian hugged Zhuzhu and they rode the carousel. As the carousel started moving, Zhuzhu was a little scared, her hand tightly gripping Xu Chunian’s pants. Only when the breeze brushed past her ear did she quietly open her eyes.

The carousel spun, familiar music played overhead, and laughter echoed around them. Older children sat on the horses by themselves, while others, like Zhuzhu, had their parents behind them. Xu Chunian held her with both hands.

Looking down, she saw that Zhuzhu was already looking around curiously with wide eyes. “Don’t be scared, Zhuzhu. Look over there.”

Xu Chunian pointed in a direction. Jiang Huaixu stood outside the carousel, hands in his pockets, watching them. The man’s tall, slender figure and handsome face stood out in the crowd.

The man’s gaze, however, remained fixed on one spot. Over the years, Xu Chunian had changed, yet she hadn’t. He seemed to see her again from her teenage years, just like today, when she wore her sportswear, sweating on the track. Her fair face seemed to glow under the sun, sparkling sweat trickling down her cheeks. Her small face was filled with a stubborn determination to not be left behind, a tenacious spirit that refused to give up.
