Zhuzhu spotted Jiang Huaixu and grinned at him, her eyes squinting with joy. Xu Chunian waved at him, “Zhuzhu, say hello to Daddy.”
Zhuzhu raised her small hand, resembling a lotus stem, and waved at him.
Jiang Huaixu gently lifted the corners of his lips.
When the carousel came to a stop, Xu Chunian took Zhuzhu’s hand and led her out.
Jiang Huaixu handed Xu Chunian a bottle of water after opening it.
“Thank you.”
Then he opened another bottle and fed it to Zhuzhu.
The sun hung low, bathing the entire castle in light.
Since Xu Chunian arrived, she had rarely seen Zhuzhu smile so carefree and happy. When interacting with small animals, she would actively reach out to touch them and even nuzzled the mascots’ hands. Jiang Huaixu took Zhuzhu to play bumper cars while Xu Chunian cheered them on from the sidelines. The three of them were all exceptionally good-looking, attracting many onlookers.
“Go, Hubby! Go, Hubby!”
“Wife, go for it!”
Many family members were also cheering from outside.
Xu Chunian was not to be outdone, cupping her hands into a megaphone, “Go, Hubby! Go, Daughter!”
After shouting, she felt a bit shy, unsure if he had heard her.
Inside, Jiang Huaixu had one hand bracing against Zhuzhu’s side to protect her. He caught a glimpse of Xu Chunian outside, then shifted his focus back to the game, steering with one hand, drifting sharply and crashing into the cars on either side.
“Wow, so cool!” Xu Chunian couldn’t help but sparkle with excitement.
“Hahaha, looks like your husband appreciated your support,” someone beside her teased.
Xu Chunian felt a bit embarrassed, scratching her head and smiling back at the person.
Did he really hear her?
When she turned back, she happened to see Jiang Huaixu looking over at her, but he quickly turned away, engrossed in the new battle.
*
Xu Chunian had loved photography since childhood, even majoring in it at university. Although she didn’t have professional equipment, her phone was filled with photos of Zhuzhu and the cool Jiang Huaixu. His gaze only softened when he looked at Zhuzhu.
“Look here.” Xu Chunian raised her phone.
Both turned their heads, and Zhuzhu opened her mouth, eating the ice cream Jiang Huaixu had given her, looking like a little kitten.
Xu Chunian pressed the shutter, satisfied to capture Jiang Huaixu’s smiling face.
She couldn’t help but marvel; aside from her excellent photography skills, Jiang Huaixu truly had a face that was flawless from every angle.
Xu Chunian licked the ice cream that was about to melt in her hand, looking around before pointing to the queue nearby, “Jiang Huaixu, let’s go play that one.”
Jiang Huaixu followed her finger, spotting an attraction called “Escape from the Underworld.”
“Okay.” Jiang Huaixu took out a wet wipe to clean Zhuzhu’s mouth, “You can’t have too much cold stuff, okay?”
Zhuzhu nodded, and after she was cleaned up, she looked up at the ice cream in Xu Chunian’s hand.
Xu Chunian shook her index finger, “Mommy is a big girl now; I won’t get a tummy ache.”
However, Jiang Huaixu effortlessly took the ice cream from her hand, “You used to have tummy aches too; eat less.”
“Ah.” Xu Chunian cried out, “I’ve only had two bites, I just went to take pictures for you guys.”
“Can I have one more bite?” Xu Chunian bargained.
Jiang Huaixu extended the ice cream in his hand towards her, and Xu Chunian took a big bite while leaning into his hand.
As if he hadn’t expected her to do that, the man was taken aback for a moment.
“Ah, so cold.” She swirled it around in her mouth.
Jiang Huaixu instinctively reached out, “Spit it out.”
“No.” Xu Chunian shook her head, refusing after the initial shock subsided.
