Chapter 109: The More Noise, the Better
After Qi Xiaoyi calmed down, he asked, “What should we do next? Should we cover up tonight’s incident?”
Xiang Wanqiao shook her head, as if she already had a plan.
“No, not only should we not cover it up, but we should also make the news of tonight’s incident more exaggerated, the more noise, the better.”
Qi Xiaoyi was slightly stunned, then became interested, “Oh? How do we make a scene?”
Xiang Wanqiao smiled faintly and said calmly, “Announce to the public that Gu Jingzhan was involved in a serious car accident tonight, his injuries are very severe, after being rescued, he was sent to the intensive care unit, his life is hanging in the balance.”
After hearing this, Lu Qingzhou instantly understood the meaning behind her actions.
He looked at Xiang Wanqiao and said firmly, “Don’t worry, I will fully cooperate.”
“Tsk tsk tsk, truly the most vicious woman’s heart.” Qi Xiaoyi teased from the side.
Xiang Wanqiao smiled, “When facing those insidious and vicious people, if we’re not tougher than them, how can we win?”
Qi Xiaoyi agreed with this statement.
“Don’t worry, I know what to do.”
“Okay.”
Then, Qi Xiaoyi reminded her, “Now that Brother Zhan is fine, Sister-in-law, you should fulfill your promise.”
Xiang Wanqiao chuckled and agreed, “Alright, I’ll go now.”
Lu Qingzhou was confused, he asked puzzled, “What promise?”
Qi Xiaoyi patiently explained to him, “Sister also hit her head, your hospital doctor recommended that she go for a head CT, to avoid any sequelae later.”
“Oh.” Lu Qingzhou realized, “Then let’s go, I’ll take you.”
Xiang Wanqiao nodded, as she left, she turned back and instructed Qi Xiaoyi with a worried tone, “Take care of Azhan.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll definitely take good care of him for you.”
Qi Xiaoyi assured her with a very confident tone, signaling her to relax.
Xiang Wanqiao then went for the examination with Lu Qingzhou with a peace of mind.
After they left, Qi Xiaoyi’s expression turned cold and serious, he took out his phone from his pocket and quickly dialed a number.
“Did you catch the people?”
“No, but we caught a few injured and unconscious people at the scene of the accident.” The person on the phone replied.
Qi Xiaoyi frowned and ordered in a deep voice, “Keep those people under watch, once they wake up, immediately interrogate them to find out who is behind them.”
“Yes.”
The next day.
The morning sunlight streamed in from the window, casting streaks of light on the bed.
Gu Jingzhan’s eyelids twitched slightly, then his eyes slowly opened, greeted by the white ceiling.
He moved his fingers, but felt his hand being tightly wrapped in a warm embrace.
Gu Jingzhan slowly turned his head, his gaze falling to the side.
Xiang Wanqiao was holding his hand, quietly lying on the edge of the bed, her face looked so peaceful in her sleep, but there was a hint of faint worry between her brows.
Gu Jingzhan lightly curled his lips, a gentle smile appeared on his slightly sickly face.
He moved his fingers, slowly pulling his hand out of hers, his fingertips gently stroking her hair.
Xiang Wanqiao frowned, then slowly opened her eyes.
Seeing Gu Jingzhan wake up, she quickly sat up, her voice filled with joy, “Azhan, you’re awake!”
Gu Jingzhan nodded slightly, his gaze fell softly on her face.
“How do you feel now?” Xiang Wanqiao asked with concern, “Is your head still dizzy? Do you feel like vomiting? Or any discomfort?”
Gu Jingzhan looked at her, his heart filled with tenderness.
He nodded, saying weakly, “My head is dizzy, I feel very uncomfortable.”
“I’ll have Lu Qingzhou come in and take a look at you.”
As she spoke, Xiang Wanqiao immediately got up and prepared to go out and find Lu Qingzhou.
Gu Jingzhan raised his arm, grabbed her wrist, looked at her with a weak expression, his voice tinged with a hint of coquetry.
“Qiaoqiao, I don’t want Lu Qingzhou, I want you.”
“But didn’t you say your head is dizzy? I’ll have Lu Qingzhou come in and check you.”
“No need.” Gu Jingzhan held her hand tightly, “As long as you stay here with me.”
Xiang Wanqiao narrowed her eyes slightly, instantly seeing through Gu Jingzhan’s intentions.
She turned around and sat on the edge of the bed, lightly punched his shoulder, scolding him, “I think you’re not dizzy, you’re just asking for trouble.”
“Hiss—”
Gu Jingzhan frowned slightly, preparing to play it up.
“Qiaoqiao, it hurts.”
Xiang Wanqiao glared at him with annoyance, “Just act, I don’t believe you.”
Gu Jingzhan reached out and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into his arms, his voice slightly hoarse, “Qiaoqiao, I’m not lying, I’m really dizzy.”
Xiang Wanqiao chuckled, looking up at him.
“Oh? What do you need to do to stop being dizzy?”
Gu Jingzhan slightly raised his head and kissed her lips, “This will stop the dizziness.”
Xiang Wanqiao glared at him playfully, saying, “You’re still so naughty even when you’re injured.”
She was about to get up, but Gu Jingzhan’s arms tightly held her.
Xiang Wanqiao was afraid of hurting his chest injury and advised, “Be careful, Lu Qingzhou said your chest bone has a minor fracture!”
“It’s just a minor injury, it’s okay, I just want to hug you.”
“I’ll hug you when you’re better.”
Gu Jingzhan sighed softly, whining, “Then kiss me.”
Xiang Wanqiao couldn’t help him, she cupped his face with both hands and kissed his lips.
“There.”
Having received his response, Gu Jingzhan stopped making a fuss and immediately let her go.
