Chapter 121: Gu Wenhua’s Unrelenting Heart
“Young mistress, there are cars following us.”
Zhou Nian was very alert, his eyes sharp as he scanned the rearview mirror.
Actually, he had noticed something strange shortly after the car left Qingyuzhai.
Xiang Wanqiao sat calmly in the back seat, closing her eyes and resting.
Her red lips parted slightly, she calmly said, “Just an old trick.”
Her words were filled with disdain and sarcasm.
Gu Wenhua’s heart was unrelenting, she knew that.
She wasn’t surprised by this.
Zhou Nian was also calm and composed, he steadily drove the car while giving instructions to the people in his earpiece.
Quickly laying out a plan, cleverly dealing with Gu Wenhua’s pursuit.
They used a large truck as cover, then had other vehicles quickly approach, at a bend, they seamlessly lost the pursuing vehicles.
Zhou Nian parked the car steadily under the shade of a tree, he turned his head slightly and reported to the person in the back seat, “Young mistress, Gu Wenhua is about to leave Qingyuzhai.”
“Did you send Gu Haoyu back?”
“I’ve already sent someone to take him back.”
Xiang Wanqiao slowly opened her eyes, a hint of ruthlessness flashed in her beautiful eyes.
“Okay, let’s do it.”
Gu Family Mansion
The butler saw Gu Haoyu return and immediately went inside to announce, “Old Madam, Madam, the young master is back!”
Mrs. Gu was closing her eyes, constantly turning the prayer beads in her hand, muttering something.
Hearing this, her hand trembled involuntarily, she opened her eyes in surprise, “Really?”
The butler nodded vigorously, “It’s true, Old Madam.”
Zhuang Meijing heard the news, the heart that had been hanging finally settled, tears of excitement instantly fell from her eyes.
She hurriedly got up, choked with emotion, “Xiao Yu…”
“Grandma, Mom.”
Gu Haoyu, oblivious to everything, was as innocent and lively as usual, he bounced in from outside.
“I’m back!”
Zhuang Meijing could no longer control her emotions, she quickly walked forward, squatted down, and hugged Gu Haoyu.
“Xiao Yu, you’re finally back, Mom was so worried.”
Gu Haoyu used his small hand to pat her back, comforting her, “Mom, don’t worry, Xiao Yu is fine.”
Zhuang Meijing pulled him out of her arms, grabbed his shoulders with both hands, her voice tinged with reproach, “Where did you go? Don’t you know you scared Mom to death today?”
Gu Haoyu didn’t answer.
He saw tears on Zhuang Meijing’s face, he reached out to wipe them away, and asked her back, “Mom, why are you crying?”
Seeing Zhuang Meijing’s emotional breakdown, Mrs. Gu reminded her from behind, “Be careful, don’t scare the child.”
Zhuang Meijing took a deep breath and calmed down.
“Mom is fine.”
She regained her usual gentleness, her tone calm as she continued to ask, “Xiao Yu, why didn’t you wait for Mom to pick you up today? Where did you go?”
“I went to play with the beautiful sister!” Gu Haoyu answered her question innocently and happily, “The beautiful sister bought me a lot of delicious food.”
Zhuang Meijing frowned, puzzled, “Beautiful sister? Which beautiful sister?”
Gu Haoyu nodded, replying, “It’s the beautiful sister who came to our house last time, she’s very nice to Xiao Yu, and I like her too.”
Hearing this, Mrs. Gu’s face froze.
Zhuang Meijing’s face wasn’t much better either, it turned slightly pale.
She took a deep breath, trying to suppress the unease in her heart, and educated Gu Haoyu, “Don’t do this again next time, or Mom will be very worried, okay?”
Gu Haoyu nodded, obediently responding, “Okay.”
“Also, don’t go with strangers, and don’t eat things given to you by strangers, those people have ulterior motives.”
“But…” Gu Haoyu didn’t quite understand, he retorted softly, “That beautiful sister, she looks… not like a bad person.”
Zhuang Meijing opened her mouth, about to say something.
Mrs. Gu waved to Gu Haoyu and called out, “Xiao Yu, come here to Grandma.”
Hearing the call, Gu Haoyu immediately ran from Zhuang Meijing’s side to Mrs. Gu.
He sweetly called out, “Grandma.”
Mrs. Gu looked at him with loving eyes, she gently stroked Gu Haoyu’s head, “Xiao Yu, remember what your mother just told you.”
Gu Haoyu tilted his innocent and cute little face, quietly looking at Mrs. Gu.
Mrs. Gu continued, “You’re still young, you don’t understand the complexities of the adult world, you don’t understand the deceitfulness between people, and you don’t know how to tell good people from bad people.”
Gu Haoyu seemed to understand.
Mrs. Gu said again, “Xiao Yu, you are the only grandson of our Gu family, those people outside who approach you have ulterior motives, don’t trust them. Don’t go with strangers, lest they use you to threaten us, understand?”
Although Gu Haoyu was young and couldn’t fully understand the meaning of their words, he could feel the seriousness and importance of them.
He obediently responded, “I understand, Grandma, I won’t run around anymore, I’ll make you worry.”
Mrs. Gu smiled contentedly, her voice soft, “Okay, our Xiao Yu is so good.”
